Reggie's owner is distraught. Dogs do get lost that is why this site exists, accidents happen but if Network Rail had ensured that this highly popular park was kept safe for dogs and children alike, Reggie would not have met this fate there. He was so close to being safe - he was in a park with other dogs and families - just took a wrong turn into the bushes and the unfenced track, just feet away. I am, however, very glad that the Rail workers took the time to alert Petlog. Does not happen often so thank you to those that reported this. God bless you sweet Reggie and your owner. In time, may they know peace. x

Oh my Lord! I just had that awful feeling this may be the case. Can you please let me know exactly how he got on the tracks? If that fence is down, then a lot more dogs could be there as they are walked in that park! Poor Reggie and owner, who obviously loved him and did his best. I was assured by Network Rail that this park was secure when i was trying to get Harlow Park secured. This should never have happened! If that fence us still down, we must deal with this and contact Network Rail and alert owners of which there are many. God bless you sweet Reggie. You have earnt your little wings. X

Thank you everyone. I received a call from Petlog/Network Rail this morning to say that Jimmy/Reggie had been found deceased on the railwau line close to Grange Paddocks. We have informed the gentleman he was given to who is devastated. We make a plea to anyone who has a rescue dog from a reputable rescue. Please inform them and return your dog should you no longer be able to care for them. We spoke to Jimmy's adopters of 3yrs in January after he escaped as we were worried. On this occassion he was clipped by a car. Weeks later he was given away. If we had the opportunity to be involved in the rehoming we would have been able to give advice and support to his new owner, a wheelchair user, on keeping Jimmy on a long line and training. Now poor Jimmy/Reggie who we rescued from the pound is gone leaving us all distraught.

Even if you can take a spare lead out and tether him somewhere obvious it would be better than leaving him at large.

Of course we can. Pls send it in to us. Paddling pool - lots of roads, and a railway line but mostly fenced - still needs watcing as they are doing work at the end of the field behind Grange Paddocks and rail fence may be down! I will notify Animal Hospital Vets. Can someone let Foxdells's Rescue know please? Highways need to be informed and Cleansing dept of local council needs to asked - they don't scan pets found. Just to rule it out. Hopefully Reggie will hang around where the kids play and food may be left. I have no further details from owners. Thank you for alerting us to sighting. Will bump. x

This is one of our dogs (Hornchurch Animal Rescue & Rehoming) Rehomed by adopters without our knowledge. He cannot be let off lead unless in a confined space as he loves escaping and will run and chase. We suspect we are still on his chip details and will await a call. We have been in touch with current owners and will share his details far and wide on social media.
