- One lucky dog. His birthday celebrations really will be a case of "Many Happy Returns" :)
Many thanks to that couple who stopped, removed him safely from the road, and returned him to owners.Last edited: 2016-06-07 09:28:28 by Baydogs - 2016-06-07 09:17 Max - Area Co-ordinator - Cornwall & Area Volunteer - Durham & Ireland

- I have spoken to a very thrilled owner :)
A couple were driving down through the woods late last night & saw Henry sat in the road. They took him to a nearby cottage, who had A DOGLOST POSTER, they recognised him & called owner :)
Owners will make donation to website & are very thankful. They said the posters were brilliant & they had almost given up hope after a week. It was his first birthday on Sunday, so he will be having a celebration I am sure :) - 2016-06-07 09:07 Baydogs

- Just over a week now since this one went missing.
Can we share share share please.
Had a chat with one of the owners this morning. They have done a door to door of rural properties in the area and postered around the vicinity, checked the stream running through the woods, taken their other dogs around (making them bark) in the hopes that Henry may show himself and spoken to other dog walkers. Henry is well known in these parts and is a distinctive dog so any locals will be able to recognise him quickly- either on his own or with anyone else walking him. May I remind anyone who has found him that IT IS A LEGAL REQUIREMENT TO REPORT A FOUND DOG TO THE DOG WARDEN. Henry was wearing a collar and tag and he is chipped so there are no excuses for not contacting his owners one way or another.
I have advised that they poster wider now, into the surrounding villages, make a special facebook page for him, keep getting onto local radio for alerts, and keep watching the selling sites like Gumtree in case he comes up for resale. Make him TOO HOT TO HANDLE.
Henry has been walked regularly in these woods and generally driven over there, so I have advised leaving a small shelter with the owners worn clothing inside by where they normally park their car.
These woods are also not that far from home so I have suggested a human urine trail from woods to home.
I have also advised contacting Highways in case Henry is found- should he be involved in an RTA. Similarly the local rail network.
Henry is normally the less skittish of the pack but after all this time may have become more nervous as regards approaching him. He was (unusually) spooked in the woods by other dogs, so if seen please call your dogs away so he doesn't take flight again.

- Reynard, there is only one disused shaft in the area which the owner knows about. Sadly there could be other exploratory holes which are unmapped. Owner knows area well & I have asked him to check the shaft & area.
Baydogs. I have emailed some advice, which provides a link to both the Radio Cornwall & Pirate fm site. - 2016-06-03 09:47 Baydogs
- Can owner request Radio Cornwall and Pirate FM alerts about his missing status too if that hasn't already been done. Both these stations are extremely willing to help.

He has been back to area several times. I have emailed advice sheets & advised to further check fences/brambles etc in case he has become snagged by his collar. Have also advised to heavily poster the area in case someone has picked him up. Also to check any rabbit/badger holes.
