- Please can you help? I understand there is another beagle sometimes out and about in Trowbridge. Could someone get a photo of this other beagle and post it on fb? It would help all of us who are spending a lot of time (very willingly) following up sightings, possibly it seems, of the wrong beagle!

- Well done everyone who has been looking since I posted about Amber sighting. I still haven't heard anything from the person who posted on my page, i will of course post anything i hear on here. Sorry its took all day to reply! away on my holidays x

- Have now walked and driven around Seymour road and Newtown. No sightings at all unfortunately. Again no posters up. Is anyone able to poster the area?
- 2016-08-21 13:22 Jane
- Currently walking around southwick country park with conkers. No sightings yet. Will then will go to Seymour road area. Doesn't appear to be any posters in the park area....

- Well done those who searched for Amber last night. Jenny you must have covered some miles yesterday. Hoping there will be more sightings very soon
- 2016-08-21 11:59 Baydogs
- Jane (post further down) are you going there today with Conkers your beagle? I see that you kindly left an offer of help last night with your contact number. Perhaps, if the weather has improved today, Amber will venture out again?
- 2016-08-21 11:57 Jane
- Does anyone know a microlight pilot that could scan the area? I know there is a microlight centre at Yatesbury on the A4 nr Calne Wiltshire. I'm sure a pilot wouldn't mind taking someone up to scan & film the area?
Always worth a try. We have used them in the past and they're not expensive. I guess they would give a good discount for such an important cause! Just an idea... - 2016-08-21 11:46 Baydogs
- Thanks to you for turning out as well PD, especially as the weather was so awful. Perhaps it was because of the awful weather that Amber decided to take shelter somewhere. Disappointing after the sightings that day....but at least there WERE sightings :)
- 2016-08-21 11:25 Nelsonbeagle
- I followed the trail of the various recent postings of possible sightings from about 9.45pm last night leaving just before midnight. Unfortunately, as with Jenny, nothing to see this time.
- 2016-08-21 08:42 Baydogs
- Thanks for the update Jenny and thank you so much for going there and watching until midnight x
- 2016-08-21 08:25 Jenny & Tiga k9tracker
- I had been in Northampton tracking another dog and then in Banbury watching for another when I got the calls about these sightings and so shot down to Trowbridge - the weather was awful. I drove around her old haunts of previous sightings as well as these new ones and just sat and watched until midnight before heading home. Sadly I didn't see anything.
- 2016-08-20 22:52 Baydogs
- Onestopalldogs, according to comments below, it appears that there have been other sightings following your post which makes it seem very hopeful indeed :)

- This poor dog was continually spooked by known people and dogs when she first ran off back in early June.
If these are indeed sightings of Amber, then STAY AWAY and please do not consider anything but neutral lure methods to entice her to safety.Last edited: 2016-08-20 21:37:05 by Mandy (Wiltshire) - 2016-08-20 21:21 Nicky - Area Co-ordinator London, Home Counties & Police Liaison

- There have been several sightings to the last one being about 5pm but she is very close to the railway. Jenny and Tiga are on their way right now but in the meantime if there is anybody in the area who owns a Beagle it would be really helpful if you could go to the area close to the local Sainsbury store and walk your dog as apparently Amber likes other Beagles and may be tempted to approach.Last edited: 2016-08-20 20:16:44 by AlisonH

- In my lunch break from work I've put up posters st the country park again. The one in hope cafe was still up. Will be keeping a close eye, think they may have been removed rather than blown down.
They're up in the council building all over the kitchen areas & print rooms (large staff there) and will be asking my colleague to communicate out to the waste teams again who do the rounds in the area - will see if I can do the same at mendip but don't have the connections there.
Some pubs/shops/restaurants still have the poster (if not up then floating around inside) - 2016-07-13 14:30 MillieVW - Area Volunteer - West Wiltshire
- Teresag has let me know that Mendip dw is aware. Hopefully some news soon, we just need a sighting to start from now x

- I have bumped Amber's page, wondering if admin can send out fresh alerts to previous postcodes and also include over to Frome? Jenny can you confirm that Mendip dog warden is aware that Amber could be heading their way? If she has got to Rode she would be in Somerset x
- 2016-07-13 10:36 Jenny & Tiga k9tracker
- Admin - can Amber be bumped back up in view of my confirmation that it was not Amber on the tracks and that she is still on the loose. Thank you.
- 2016-07-13 10:33 Jenny & Tiga k9tracker
- Teresa is in the process of doing a story for the local papers.
- 2016-07-13 09:11 Teresag
- Will be dropping posters off to them for tomorrow's training for people to collect/share
- 2016-07-13 08:48 Poochpal - Regional Co-ordinator - South West - Police Liaison Team
- Can the agility club members help with postering? Of course there could be another reason for the posters being taken down along with the lack of sightings. Maybe an announcement in local papers and radio to publicise the fact that the search is still on may make her too hot to handle if someone has been able to catch and keep her. This is just another avenue worth considering.
I have updated the Team Beagle lost and found group with the link to the new poster so hopefully it will also be shared from there too. Amber was still listed as gone to the bridge. - 2016-07-13 08:29 Teresag
- I have put them through all doors in the church lane/hoggington lane/green lane areas as well as through all houses surrounding southwick country park.
The ones I put up in the park get taken down a couple of days later, so there won't have been any in the last few days as I was waiting to update the poster before printing more to ensure people know to keep looking.
I have people ready to poster around the broadmead area of Trowbridge.
I think the weather isn't helping either it's been quite windy so they may blow down a fair bit!
But these are all old areas. I need help getting out as far as rode/frome and along the road leading there.
I've spoken to a lot of people face to face just walking round the park etc. So they can share the message that she's still alive.
Only so much I can do by myself!Last edited: 2016-07-13 08:35:21 by Teresag - 2016-07-13 07:46 Jenny & Tiga k9tracker
- Mandy that is the problem. There are no posters up. Teresa has been spending all her time putting them up,again in her lunch hour, before work and after work but no,sooner do they go up they are being taken down because locals believe it was Amber on the tracks
Even as far back as 26/6 Poochpal said posters will go back up but who apart from Teresa who is putting them up? Teresa keeps getting told there is a good group of local helpers, come on please help get those posters up. Teresa keeps offering to get posters to people but no one has contacted her for posters.
We won't get those sightings if we don't get the posters back up.
Teresa updates when there is something to update but believe me the rest of the time she is out there postering, Walking around the area, sitting watching throughout the night. She cannot do anymore than she is.
Sorry for the rant but I have also had criticism which is uncalled for. Last edited: 2016-07-13 11:58:54 - 2016-07-12 23:34 Mandy (Wiltshire)
- I was in the area tonight but didn't see any posters at all.
It would be helpful if the owner could confirm what areas she has done? - 2016-07-12 21:21 Jenny & Tiga k9tracker
- Nothing has changed - we haven't stopped looking for Amber as from day 1 , I didn't believe it was Amber on the tracks. I just needed to prove it wasn't her and now with a lot of work I am 99% sure it wasn't. The search goes on. I have been putting the pieces together over the last 2 weeks. I still have things ongoing to prove 100%
- 2016-07-12 17:14 Poochpal - Regional Co-ordinator - South West - Police Liaison Team
- Just catching up, I will try to call this evening Teresa although it sounds as though we now have the information from Jenny, thanks Jenny for calling MillieVW, I hope we can now put all the pieces together and move forward in the search for Amber.
- 2016-07-12 16:41 MillieVW - Area Volunteer - West Wiltshire
- Thank you for your call Jenny, I shall try and make some enquiries locally and see if anyone is missing a dog in the area of the railway. If Amber is heading Rode way has anyone notified Mendip dog warden?
- 2016-07-12 16:27 Jenny & Tiga k9tracker
- Thank you Alison.
I have just pieced together some more information and I am now as certain as I can be that it was not Amber on the tracks. - 2016-07-12 15:06 AlisonH
- Teresag I have changed the wording on the poster. Hope it is ok.
- 2016-07-12 10:22 Teresag
- Can someone who can change the poster without breaking it (like I did last time...) update the title to say something along the lines of her still being alive - to try and stop people taking the posters down as they think she got hit by a train? (which still may or may not be true - but worth having posters up just in case).
- 2016-07-12 10:18 Teresag
- Poochpal - if you want any updates etc. please do contact me direct, however I do tend to update when I hear anything of value - which I have not since the last sightings that meant the search started again after the rail issue.
I think leaving it with Jenny to contact the rail is the right idea as she has spoken face to face with them and has the connections, at this time rather than having everyone chase multiple (or even one) case, I'm happy leaving that side of things in her hands.
To be frank, what I need from everyone is help with posters. I don't care who is talking to rail or anything else - I need feet on the ground putting up posters as the area is far too much for me to cover alone. Please pass on my contact details and I will be happy to print posters for people so there's no cost for them - I just need people willing to put in the time to help me put posters up.Last edited: 2016-07-12 10:31:04 by Teresag - 2016-07-11 21:45 Jenny & Tiga k9tracker
- My post further down says since that incident there were 3 further sightings and one was very convincing. This led us to further query the incident on the railway.
- 2016-07-11 21:33 Poochpal - Regional Co-ordinator - South West - Police Liaison Team
- As I did not have an exact location I was told it would take a while for the track crew to cover the whole length of the track between the 2 stations. I was given a ref number and then received an email asking if I could give any further information to let them know. I did not want to put Teresa through more questions when you would be able to email me the location. Surely you have been given a reference number for your enquiry?
The reason I am trying to follow up officially is because there have been no confirmed sightings since the report.
There is much more to tracing a frightened dog than tracking although I agree this can help on occasions and as you had already done that there was little point in asking you to bring Tiga all the way back again. I know you have many more waiting for your help. - 2016-07-11 15:57 Jenny & Tiga k9tracker
- I do not have a reference number as I work on the ground with leg work, talking to people face to face. Everything that has happened of relevance has been reported on here on my 14 posts to date. I did another 300 mile round trip over the weekend to Trowbridge starting Thursday before going back out again to track Tony yesterday. Perhaps the local team could also report back on here. To our knowledge there have been no further sighting hence nothing to report on.
On one of my posts below in response to Poochpal I posted 'If you would like me to come back and meet up with the helpers for a search I am happy to do so' but I didn't hear back.
I had been in close and regular contact with MillieVW - the area Volunteer for West Wiltshire who was great but her last text indicated being tied up and stressed with 'family arrivals' so you respect that and give volunteers space.
Until this morning I was not aware that Poochpal had also put a report in to railtrack - if that had been posted on here it might have saved me a 300 mile round trip. Perhaps we could have the findings of that report.
At the end of the day we are all volunteers/members of the public and not under contract of employment. Last edited: 2016-07-11 16:38:46 by Jenny & Tiga k9tracker - 2016-07-11 15:09 Jayne - Founder Doglost.
- Teresag Thats a positive step...posters really help as not everyone does FB.
Jenny ...Thanks for helping ..as Poochpal said..she has also made a report with the railways...so as not to confuse things would you be able to email your reference to admin@doglost.co.uk so we can liase the two reports....I know you are busy at the moment but we have a great local team that can help...but have not been updated...you can always email me at above address...and put attention Jayne...so we can spread the word.

- Will be putting up posters this evening after work, as I updated poster yesterday. Just got to get a bunch printed.
One of he biggest things people could do for helping me right now is using any contacts to print/put up posters in the southwick/Trowbridge/rode/Bradford on Avon areas. The area to cover is a lot bigger now and I'm starting to struggle keeping on top of it especially as people are taking them down/blowing down in the weather we've been having. That would be really really appreciated. If people can't print let me know and I can organise to get some to anyone.Last edited: 2016-07-11 10:32:52 by Teresag - 2016-07-11 09:05 Poochpal - Regional Co-ordinator - South West - Police Liaison Team
- Jenny, if you could email me your information regarding the location or the ref number from Network Rail that would be a great help. They could then have one single investigation rather than yours and another in my name. Much better to work together on this. Last edited: 2016-07-11 13:57:30
- 2016-07-11 07:53 Jenny & Tiga k9tracker
- Jenny4 - that was my thoughts as well. I did ask lots of people if they knew of any other dogs missing and I did do a search on DL. I can only assume that because when NR returned to retrieve the body and it wasn't there, that perhaps an owner of a possible other dog had done so first.
I also came across a guy who had a beagle and his beagle had played with Amber the day before she went missing. He also told me his wife had seen Amber on the Saturday just before Teresa heard from NR. She let her beagle off the lead as they knew each other in the hope Amber would pal up but she didn't she looked at the lady and trotted off. This was at Clarendon which explains why Tiga had got a good scent here the last time he tracked. Amber had also been seen here the night she went missing. It is relatively quiet here and loads of discarded takeaway wrappers.
It was from here that Tiga continued to track along the road back through Southwick and on towards Rode.
A priority is to get posters back up indicating to keep looking for Amber.
I still have ongoing enquiries with NR as there is a second witness but now on holiday.
Yes I do have a location but that remains confidential as promised to NR to,prevent anyone from trespassing the lines. The location did not tie in with the pattern of sightings. I did go and take a look but you couldn't get close enough to the fencing. I also made some door to door enquiries to see if anyone else had lost a dog recently.
There is not much more I can do until we get another sighting.
I was almost home before we turned around to go and track Tony. A busy few days! Last edited: 2016-07-11 10:19:31 by Jenny & Tiga k9tracker - 2016-07-11 07:27 Poochpal - Regional Co-ordinator - South West - Police Liaison Team
- Jenny, did the witness give you the exact location? The only information I have been able to give Railtrack was between Trowbridge and Westbury on the raised track with steep embankments each side, apparently this includes most of that stretch of line.
- 2016-07-11 06:43 Unknown
- So wonder what was on the track as deer dont have white backs, am now concerned it could be another lost dog ? Wish the track people took photos, no matter how gruesome it may appear, as now seems there is the worry that another pet has been killed.Hope Amber soon gets spotted xx

- I have shared with Doglost FB group, Public & Twitter. I hope Amber is safely back at home soon. X
- 2016-07-10 22:27 Jenny & Tiga k9tracker
- Another busy day down this way - not tracking but just meeting a few people and asking questions with one thing leading to another. I happened to speak to the guy from NR who saw the body on the tracks and I asked him to describe. I was told it had a white back - Amber is tri coloured. I asked him to describe the size and his indication was that it was a little bigger than a beagle. This is a further indication that we need to continue to look for Amber.
I also showed him a picture of Amber after his description and he said he didn't think it was .
If anyone can help to put posters up yet again then please do. Teresa has put them back up but I suspect because people believed it was Amber on the tracks they took them down again. Teresa in the process of changing the poster to indicate this.
A far wider area needs to be postered as the last time Tiga tracked he tracked towards Rode. I also suspect she is travelling at night as Tiga tracked down the centre of the road.
Lots,of people, are, still aware but posters will certainly help further. Last edited: 2016-07-10 22:33:28 by Jenny & Tiga k9tracker - 2016-07-10 21:50 Sarah - Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambs Twitter Co-ordinator

- Hi Poochpal thank you for your reply to my post. I'm really quite concerned at the lack now of sightings as everyone else is. The owners must be beside themselves over Amber and the railway event. Like you and everyone else I'm hoping so much that another sighting is soon to give a lead to finding her.
- 2016-07-08 08:33 Jane
- Hi all - this is very sad as there have been no further sightings for a while. Personally, reading through the thread, if it were my dog I would have you back to track. As the sightings have dried up a fresh search could prove very helpful. These are my own thoughts. My heart goes out to the owners of beautiful Amber x
- 2016-07-08 07:50 Jenny & Tiga k9tracker
- Presumably then Poochpal the local helpers have not had any sightings either as nothing reported by them.
If you would like me to,come back and meet up with the helpers for a search I am happy to do so. - 2016-07-07 17:11 Jenny & Tiga k9tracker
- Mallory'smum - the 'incident' re the railway could not be proved one way or another and there were since that incident 3 further sightings, one of which was very convincing and so the search goes on. On most occasions Amber has been seen attempts have been made to catch her which has resulted in her not returning.
We are keeping an open mind and hoping that we get another breakthrough soon.
The owners are holding up well despite having put posters up, taken them down and put them back up again. - 2016-07-07 15:06 Mallory'smum
- Am I getting confused-further down this thread there are comments about Amber being a very sad victim of the Railways???

- Reply from Teresa, no further sightings despite posters going back up and food trail left out and watched overnight.

- Hi Sue, I have emailed Amber's owner asking if there has been any update, we would all like to know if there have been any sightings.
We had such a good group of helpers in the area who were reporting sightings and were aware not to try to catch or chase her, it is strange that this has gone so quiet. - 2016-07-04 14:07 Jane
- Hi everyone - has there been anymore news of this beautiful dog. I check in each day but comments have stopped - news please.anything? Thank you x
- 2016-06-26 20:19 Jenny & Tiga k9tracker
- Sadly Poochpal, each time Amber has been sighted, attempts have been made to catch her resulting in her moving on.
- 2016-06-26 19:24 Poochpal - Regional Co-ordinator - South West - Police Liaison Team
- I have spoken to Teresa (owner) this evening to see if we can come up with fresh ideas. Posters will be going back up as we need all sightings reported but what we do NOT need is lots of people searching or trying to catch Amber. This will drive her out into a wider area. Please call the poster numbers to report any sightings giving location and time of the sighting.

- There is now some doubt as to whether the body found on the railway lines was Amber and there has been some recent sightings of a Similar dog running loose in the area, therefore I have moved Amber back to the lost section to keep her profile high.Last edited: 2016-06-25 21:57:51 by AlisonH

- We are pretty confident this latest sighting yesterday morning was Amber and it ties in with where Tiga tracked on Wednesday in the opposite direction of all the other sightings. Such a huge relief. Owners out postering the area Tiga tracked now.

- Everything crossed for this sighting of Amber...
- 2016-06-17 11:16 Jenny & Tiga k9tracker
- Possible sighting just in - trying to get more information.
- 2016-06-16 09:45 Nelsonbeagle
- We need a sighting - three mornings since the last, please keep your eyes open! If you do see Amber, who has been spooked several times, please don't follow her but phone. The exact time and location are important. Thank you to Jenny and Tiga and everyone. Amber needs to come home now - safely.
- 2016-06-16 09:43 Jenny & Tiga k9tracker
- I was actually in Broadmead with Tiga when we got the message from Team Beagle - unfortunately the person that messaged was not the sighter and we are desperately trying to find the actual sighter to confirm when this was.
We are also trying to find the person that posted on fb of seeing a 'body - dog size' being picked up by council workers yesterday morning in a feasible area. As far as we have been able to confirm this was a deer.
We need more posters to go up in Trowbridge, Southwick and Wingfield as a number previously put up have not survived the recent weather.
We are getting messages from friends of friends etc and not getting sufficient information from them.

- Hi, we have just received the following message to Team Beagle Lost & Found - I hope it helps, or someone is able to follow up on the info? (Dawn)
There is an abandoned house at the bottom end of Broadmead, Trowbridge. It's on the right hand side as you go up the road from the Bradford Road. My friend has seen her sheltering in the open garage on a couple of occasions but she has run away when he has approached her. I hope she is found safe and well Last edited: 2016-06-15 18:47:10 by Team Beagle Lost & Found - 2016-06-15 11:26 Nelsonbeagle

- I am also now concerned we have not had any sightings for 2 days. Let's hope she hasn't been chased again.
It's time that Amber was home.
Thank you to Millie and PJD for being out keeping watch. Last edited: 2016-06-15 07:39:55 by Jenny & Tiga k9tracker - 2016-06-14 20:46 Teresag
- She's not been seen now since yesterday morning. Please if you do see her let me or one of the others know - phone numbers above.
- 2016-06-14 15:24 Simbarose
- This is a long shot but may just work beagles are a nose hound and amber may be trying to hunt a sent she knows to back track her way home. Try tying her bedding or owners clothing anything that has a scent she knows or even a dead rabbit and drag behind you as you walk her route back to your home. The ground needs to be fairly dry to hold a good scent
- 2016-06-14 15:05 Unknown
- Jenny as there is a small team apart from the owners are there anymore phone nunmbers to give for further sightings
- 2016-06-14 09:00 Jenny & Tiga k9tracker
- We are still getting regular sightings, owner is doing everything right. This will be a patient process as Amber is unsettled. As yet still no need for Tiga to track. This case is similar to another missing beagle a while ago and patience is the only way forward. It is so so important that people do not try and catch Amber or even follow her. We pretty much know her route and as yet a trap is not the answer. We have a small team working behind the scenes and who will appreciate any sightings - so just keep ringing them straight in to the owner.

- Just need eyes peeled and sightings phoned in as searching, catching, chasing, calling all out of the question as its making Amber run. No route as she was chased out of the known area over weekend when someone tried to catch her :(
- 2016-06-13 18:45 homely53
- Has a particular route been pinpointed yet and any time frame. Would love to help but seems little info and nothing on owners fb page
- 2016-06-11 12:41 MillieVW - Area Volunteer - West Wiltshire
- Still awol but lots of sightings, important not to attempt to catch or chase Amber but contact owner with time and place of sighting, keep an eye only if it won't spook her x
- 2016-06-10 08:16 MillieVW - Area Volunteer - West Wiltshire
- She keeps going back to Trowle and it's so close to agility it's like she can't quite get there, I'd imagine the route she's trying has some pretty good fencing up so hoping she just sticks in there now as much safer. Come on Amber it's home time xxx
- 2016-06-09 19:51 Jenny & Tiga k9tracker
- There are regular sightings of Amber so no need for me to go and track yet. Dogs from Ambers agility class are, going out for a walk tonight after their class to see if Amber will go to them.

- Have you thought about using a Drone with a camera/GoPro? We have friends with Drones they are very useful. A very well known pilot for Drones is called Dominic Cross, he lives around the Devizes area.

- Amber is still missing - since Monday evening. Can anyone who sees her let me know on 07925827186. Keep your distance and do not chase after her, she'll just run. Let me know and I'll be there asap. Just follow her at a distance and keep an eye on where she's going. Last seen about 11pm along wingfield road near brook road. Thanks

- I heard someone may have spotted her at the barge Bradford on Avon around 4pm. So she may be closer the Bradford side than Trowbridge now. Only just heard about this, so bit outdated but could help.

- Sorry to see that AMBER is missing.
- If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
- Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
- A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (100974)
- Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
- You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
- Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
- If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
- If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
- Keep us updated by keeping your dog's page up to date and check for posts from helpers who may have suggestions and possible matches or sightings
- DogLost is free and anyone asking for money to find or return your dog is not volunteering for us. If you are concerned about an approach you have received, please email admin@doglost.co.uk
