I have bumped Barneys post, as it is 4 years since he went missing :(

Debbie123 Sadly, he's not our Barney. Barney is crossed with a corgi and has very distinctive ears. This boy has staffy ears. But thankyou for remembering us & am hoping this lad gets home to his family.

Thank you Baydogs. We are coming down to Cornwall at the end of the month, hopefully Carbis Bay Crew are going to help us by looking again down the Mineshaft nr where he went missing, to see if his remains are down there. Still heartbroken & would like some clousure. Regards Bev

Staffie found on Doglost Cornwall FB by Redruth Co-op tonight. Similar to Barney. Being looked after by fire station crew (or does the post mean Co-op staff?)at the moment.
Can't see the back of Barney's neck here to see if markings match. Maybe too much white on front socks as well....

I understand the owner (Bev) has now moved away. Just wanted to remind her to change old landline numbers on any missing notices in case someone finds Barney. I came across an old landline number on Pirate FM here-
http://www.piratefm.co.uk/contribute/help-desk/?st=1
I know there is an option to contact by email but some people prefer phoning and may give up if there is no answer.
Just a thought. Really hope that there is news of him soon.

Thank you Mark and Max. I watched the video which is useful information for those on foot search but it also highlights how much a thermal imaging camera is needed for successful drone searches over this kind of terrain. If anyone wants to donate to this cause-

Good luck this afternoon. Hoping for a sighting of Barney.Last edited: 2016-06-12 14:20:26 by Baydogs

Yesterday evening, Mark went up with his drone & searched some hazards with his drone (Quarry pool) & area which is littered with holes & one or 2 deep shafts. It was mainly to give Bev an overview of what is up there & what needs searching further on foot.

There is a large shaft, which is unfenced (am going to be sending an email to the council re this).
Here is the video link for perusal ........https://www.facebook.com/pyromark/videos/vb.594672723/10153619589412724/?type=2&theater.

A search is planned for 2pm this afternoon if anyone wishes to assist. Please message owner or meet at engine house at Carn Marth.

Carbis Bay Crew have been up to Carn Marth this afternoon with Bev & checked a few shafts, nothing found, so there is still hope.

Have spoken with Bev tonight & sent her a map of further mines/quarry pools in area, courtesy of Mark Thomas ( our drone expert & mining contact). Mark is going to have a look with his drone tomorrow, weather permitting, to see if he can check quarry pools etc & show what other hazards might be able to be checked on foot. Sadly the area still has open shafts.

I liaised with the owner yesterday, the owner lives in a semi-rural location. There are disused mine shafts in the area & Bev has had the fire briade out to check one. They put a listening device down but sadly couldn't hear anything. It was quite deep & they couldn't see the bottom, but could hear running water. I will forward scenting advice via email. Details already on DogLost Cornwall fb page. I have advised to get plenty of posters out in the area.
