Springer Rescue are keeping an eye open for Lola, also branches in Colchester (where they're putting her poster up in Reception) & Northants. Apparently 6 Springer pups stolen from property in Northants recently. Great Dane Florence (lost locally) has been found thanks to 4' posters! We must keep posters of Lola up everywhere. Come on, Lola, where are you? xxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

In yesterdays EAST ANGLIAN it was saying about the increase of stray and lost dogs in the area. If this is the case WHY !!! is not more being done by the Police and other authorities to help ,especially with the influx of dog theft at the moment. Have you tried the Travellers Liason officers Lola's mum. Also keep checking Rescues. Also Communnity officers and Specials in the Market towns they might notice dogs being walked as most of these do footwork. Youth clubs and any functions going on as well. Someone must have noticed a new addition somewhere. Fingers crossed you soon hear something. xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Sure you've done all of this but...Hi, My springer was stolen by Travellers in very similar circumstances in April near Kettering. So, firstly, chin up: he was found but it took a lot of effort. Contact local TV, radio & papers All three were brilliant in hosting interviews, telling the story and giving publicity. They ran stories free of charge and offered decent prices on adverts. Absolutely crucial in finding our dog though was the Northamptonshire Community Traveller Unit, part of the Northants Police Force ? you need to find the one in your area as they go onto all the sites regularly. And posters are so important ? every lamppost, pub (rough!! where dogs may be sold in the car park) , park / dog walking area, vet, dog training group, gypsy camp gate etc. There are so many people who want to help, it's actually quite moving. Don't wait for a ransom demand to come in, in case it's not coming. Be proactive now and also contact specific organisations dog breed organisations plus all the usual people who are out and about in the locality everyday like milkmen and postmen (postmen deliver to traveller camps and ours put up posters in the sorting office for all their colleagues to keep and eye out too) etc. And most important of all, ring all the dogs homes and the general police stations FRONT DESK (not the general number that covers all of them) EVERY day. Ditto the Council Dog Wardens for the surrounding towns. They all have a very poor logging system and it's just best to ring them every day to remind them of the crime and where they can find you as and when they turn. Don't rely on them being efficient and logical. It sounds harsh but they have lots of people vying for their attention so make sure you just keep yourselves in it. Also local NFU branches, Country Stores etc. I think that's everything. Good luck. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Also Otley College is not too far away and lots of people attend there from all areas.Witnesham not too far either. Schools break up soon so need to target them quite quickly. I would suggest description needs more info i.e is tail docked etc please note that not all people can see dogs are quite different (heard of someone called to look at a lost Springer and it tuned out to be a Jack Russell!) More info the better as cuts down on valuable time lost. GOOD LUCK xxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Well Done Jimmy and Heather P. Lets hope theres some news from the posters. Could Lola have jumped a fence? thats what a rescue beardie did in that area 2 years ago. We contacted all farmers who kept a look out and she was going back to a barn, thats why we bought the trap, now theres some all over the country just in case. Would also try Coddenham Village with posters and the Dukes head, also Gosbeck area. Any farms and outbuildings. Also Crowfield and the Crowfield Rose. Stonham Barns dog training centre.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

What a dear little girl - I'll poster wherever I am, I live very close. Have you done vets in Woodbridge, jacquie8? Owners, make sure you keep checking rescues especially Jane Lee at Pampered Pets 01728 747760 who Wardens take dogs to. Also may be worth calling Travellers Liason Office for Suffolk Coastal 01473 265161, and Ipswich 01473 833641. And try AnnaLouise who had her two labs stolen from Dalinghoo recently - you'll find her on Penelope's page, I'm sure she'll be very helpful as she covered lots of ground to get them back. Good luck. xxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

As soon as Admin receives a photograph, the poster will be emailed out to helpers. Posters need to be displayed as soon as possible on notice boards, lamp posts, entrances to parks, dog bins and on cars. Take posters to vets, pet shops, postmen (for sorting offices), milkmen, dustmen, street cleaners, taxi drivers, schools, pubs, youth clubs, newsagents, post offices, takeaways, dog training clubs, supermarkets and car parks. Hand out reduced-down posters or cards to people - especially dog walkers - and deliver to houses and businesses. Police stations, Dog Wardens, the RSPCA and all rescue centres need checking frequently and preferably visited in person by owner or someone who knows Lola well. Stay safe Lola until we find you xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
