After spending my whole morning investigating this ,,I am left feeling raw and gutted. This dog was found on Saturday 11th (not by me) and taken to the vet for a scan..(no microchip) was reported by the finder to the D/W of Bristol Council. I have spent hours on the phone today and there is no log of this being reported. (Yet I do believe the finder as she swears she did report it)) The dog stayed with someone that night and was then taken to an animal rescue the following day. The dog so say was shut down, terrified, and frightened! I telephoned the shelter when I knew where it was as I wanted information to post out and I was asked not to say anything, and I didn't ..Apparently the kennels at the rescue were not the right environment so the dog was placed in to care, and it has vanished in to a system.! N. Somerset Councils phone number was issued for all queries to go to by Our local D/W who has been following the case, as the rescue shelter where the dog was taken comes under N. Somerset, and not Bristol where the dog should have been taken .. to a council appointed kennel ... and after speaking to N.Somerset this morning the rescue shelter are saying they do not have the dog and there is nothing the council can do!!
So if your dog has been stolen and you are still searching you don't stand a chance in hell of finding your dog.. From this system you don't even get 7 days!!
This is very disturbing and has really got to me ... I wanted this out within the Gun dog community fast due to the spate of gundog thefts there have been over the past few years.. I never thought this post would go so viral or that I would be venomously attacked
My Involvement in this case is just putting the post out!!
I cant do any more....Sorry.

- If anyone sees one that is a possible match, please don't discount it on the grounds that it is chipped and this one apparently isn't. There has been a dog picked up near me this week that xrays show has a chip, but it's not being picked up by any scanners :( There was a batch of duds a while ago. Hope she's reunited soon x
