WELCOME home Lexi xxxx - 2016-07-12 21:09 Jane Helm
- Jayne @ head office, thank you so much for your message letting me know that Lexi was at home. I shed a tear or two when I read your comments below about the reunion. So pleased for the family and Lexi. She was reunited through a series of events; a nice lady keeping her safe and posting her on scouse pets 2 on facebook, me seeing the post and going to scan her then handing her over to the dog wardens, then me contacting the rescue I support who claimed her when the 7 days were up. Then of course without doglost the owners would never have known what happened to her. They saw the post, rang doglost who then rang me to find out where Lexi was. I bet Lexi sleeps well tonight xx

- Thank you jenny4. It's just the way I am. I've always been an animal lover and lost count of the number of dogs I've chased across roads and roundabouts but I would like to think that someone would do the same for my dogs. I fell in love with Lexi and I'm so pleased for the family that they are getting her back after nearly a whole month. It's heartbreaking circumstances and I'm sure the family will get some comfort today xxx

- I agree about the microchip and it shows how important it is that any pet is microchipped. I scanned her and could have had ber back in minutes but the main thing now is that the dog is safe and they can get her back. Any updates off the owners would be really good to hear xx

- Spoke to Caroline from the kennels who will ring owner after speaking to the kennel manager...and also said if any problems with raising the money to call us back and we can put an appeal out for this dog to get back to its family at this time.

- Jane - that was a really kind gesture to help save this dog.
Dog lover - The majority of council stray dog pounds locations are readily available via FOI requests to the particular council. There are very few who refuse to respond. - 2016-07-08 20:36 Jane Helm
- Hello, Ive had word from the rescue to say that Lexi has been neutered and vaccinated so they would just like you to cover the fee for spaying which is £100. Their adoption fee is normally £175.00 if you were to adopt her but they wouldn't ask for that much. I remember that she was also treated for a flea allergy and kennel cough which all costs. If you are on any benefits they can get the neutering cost down to £30 and if that's the case you only owe that. They said to pass this information on to you. xxLast edited: 2016-07-08 20:36:46 by Jane Helm

- Hello, Firstly, my condolences to you and your family on the loss of your son. Lexi ran into a cafe in Seaforth and the finder posted her on Scouse Pets 2 on facebook of which I follow. I went there to scan her for a microchip and the cafe was closing so I took her home and contacted the dog warden. I initially put my name down to keep her if she wasnt claimed but it wasn't feasible as I have two rescue dogs already. I was concerned about the possibility of her being put to sleep after the 7 day deadline. I contacted a rescue I support and they kindly put their name against her to keep her safe. I was so thankful to them so I made the donation as they really do such a good job and save so many lives but funds are limited and they cannot function without donations and adoption fees. As far as I'm aware she hasn't been rehomed and Jayne from doglost will speak to the rescue tomorrow. Please don't worry about weeks of boarding as I am sure they will just be happy with the adoption fee which is a small price to pay to have Lexi back. Please take a photo when you're reunited, I would love to see the look on her face. She is a really sweet dog and I hope she brings you and your children some comfort at this sad time. With love, Jane xx

- How lovely of the finder to donate money towards the cost of the kennels. But I have found that kennels are never divulged to people in case they try and get their dogs without paying. Only found this out recently . Hopefully this will be good news thanks to Jayne and we will soon see Lexi back in the blue again. Xxx

- On Carla Lanes Animals in need they say "From the dog warden, the dogs will go to the local pound - Halewood RSPCA, if found in the Liverpool/Sefton/Knowsley council areas."
I think some go to Merseyside dogs home - is this her https://www.facebook.com/merseysidedogshome/photos/a.361389880636518.1073741828.361385727303600/963873480388152/?type=3&theaterLast edited: 2016-07-08 19:45:17 by Bo - 2016-07-08 18:36 Jayne - Founder Doglost.
- spoken to owner and she has had confirmation that LEXI is well and at a local kennels...But has not been given the name....any one any idea of who they could be?
Owner is a bit worried that almost a months boarding fees would literally wipe them out...the 3 other children 6,12 and 14 desperate to get Lexi back. Said I would speak to the dog warden Monday on their behalf .
I have found it hard to get hold of owners..and the landline registered on dog lost was 2 digits out fromthe landline owners e mailed us...so probably others are finding ithardto communicate...have put doglost number on so I can monitor calls. - 2016-07-08 17:43 Jayne - Founder Doglost.
- Have tried 3 times now..so have left my number for owner to call me.
- 2016-07-08 17:17 Jayne - Founder Doglost.
- Managed to get through on landline that was emailed to us by owners...but owners daughter says she is out at the shops...will call back in 10 minutes to get an update.

- Jodey82 Looking at details above it was the Sefton dog warden when your dog was found you need to contact them so that you can explain all circumstances and they can tell you where Lexi is.
