So pleased she is home x

So pleased that this older girl has been found. This is the second oldie recently that has been shut in a neighbour's house whilst they have been away. Maybe our future advice should include 'Have you looked through your absent neighbour's windows ?' :)
Welcome back Lady.

Lady has just been found!
Seems that she had been shut in a neighbours house and she had not barked. They had been away so no-one knew she was there but it explains why there were no sightings of her! I expect she had got into the house when they were loading their car to go away (maybe!) but at least she has been safe and not running around on the roads.
Patrick her owner is over the moon and would like to thank everyone who has helped and supported him.
If I could ask you to do just one more job please ..we need all the posters taken down (the very best job!)
Many, many thanks to all.
Welcome home Lady!

Many thanks Riverlady. Met some local people who have also been Tweeting so that was good.
PLEASE would you all put a poster in your car window so that people see it wherever you go? Itwould definitely help as we relly do not know where Lady is at the moment. Thanks.
Just need that all important sighting now. Last edited: 2016-07-02 10:22:48 by Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex

Thanks janine. Unfortunately K9tracker is not available at the moment as she is having transport problems.
I have been out since the early hours driving around trying to find Lady but no luck. Have put up a lot of large posters and handed out 50 to people walking their dogs in Alexandra Park. Then I ran out of them! Have moved a couple of yours janine as they were on trees (sorry, my 'pet hate') but cable tied to fences.
We definitely need more posters on the St Helens Road side at the reservoir end please.
Seems odd that Lady has not been seen or found yet. If someone has taken her in I would have expected them to contact her owner especially as she has a tag on her collar. (It's also required by law to report finding any dog to the Dog Wardens who are 24/7 service in Hastings)
We just have to hope that someone spots her soon and calls the numbers on her tag or on the posters. She has to be somewhere ..
janine
This morning i have filled the 'ask for help' for with the K9 tracker, Pat is aware of this. I am going to print some more posters and get them up this afternoon. I have asked Pat to call Battle vets just in case she has ventured a lot further.

Thanks so much TK. That's great work.
I have been busy Tweeting to as many people at the Beer Festival tonight as possible. If you use Twitter please retweet from my page @mivvidog.
Great to see that Hastings Beer & Music Festival have posted about Lady on their Fbk page. Thanks to them :)
Lady is a rescue dog and last time she went missing she was found on the Ridge. She loves playing with balls!
Let's hope someone spots Lady this evening. Last edited: 2016-07-01 22:06:34 by Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex

Drove around area this eve, saw the footpath that Lady may have gone up, it leads onto Park View and then there is a footpath opposite thatshe may have gone up. The whole area has a network of little footpaths, so she could be anywhere. Had a walk around the lower part of St Helens Woods.
Have put up posters Main entrance to St Helens Woods, Entrance to Woods at end of Park Avenue, Corner of Park View & Ashford Rd, Half way up Park View, Park View end of footpath that leads to St Helens Rd, & a couple in lower end of St Helens Woods, footpath that leads from Park Ave to Starwell Close & entrance to Coronation Wood part of the park .
When we drove past Ashford Rd/Park View on way home there were a group of people looking at the poster I had put there, hopefully lots of people will see it as they walk to beer festival.
Have to go pick my son up in a minute, so will have another drive around xLast edited: 2016-07-01 20:11:23 by TK - Area Volunteer, East Sussex

Thanks everyone for helping to find Lady. Seems strange that there have been no sightings yet but I expect this means that she is hiding somewhere in a garden or in bushes etc. So please would you ask all your friends to check in their gardens, garages and behind sheds as she may be holed up there. If this is the case then Lady is most likely to come out at dusk and dawn when all is quiet.

Just to confirm that the contact numbers on the page are for Lady's owner (PM) who has been out searching for his girlie since she was lost yesterday. He does not have a computer so is unable to print posters so if anyone else is able to do that it would be a great help to him.
If anyone is able to hand posters out to people going in and out to the Beer festival this evening or tomorrow (I seem to remember that they have stuff going on in the day too) it would help get the word out to people from other areas of the town.
Stay safe Lady so we can get you home please.

I went to St Helens Woods, walked around the Hillside Road end from 4.15 to 5.30, no sign of Lady. Spoke to a few people who live next to the woods, Langham Road end and they were not aware of her being missing. I am happy to distribute posters/flyers etc., but my printer is out of ink, so I can't print any at the moment.

Thanks TK, gina c and janine for helping to find Lady. Great job getting the posters out. Our Dog Wardens are aware that Lady is missing and it would be wise to let the local Police know as well.
I have emailed advice now to you now JCampbell and hopefully this may help with the search. The posters are the most important thing to get done as this is the way to get sightings in.
JCampbell: Please would you let me know of any sightings called in so that I can bump the page for them.

The festival at Alexandra Park this weekend will work both for and against the search. It will mean that there is a lot of noise again but it would also be a great opportunity to let people coming from all parts of Hastings and St. Leonards know that Lady is missing. So I would suggest lots of posters (you can reduce them to A5 size) handed out to people at the entrances and put up in the entrances/car parks to all parts of the park. Any other posters will also be worth putting up as we do not know at this stage where Lady is.

It's possible that Lady is hiding in a garden, behind sheds or garages or even under bushes etc .. anywhere that she can get away from any noise etc so please look in these places for her.
Come on Lady, please show yourself as we need to get you home.
janine
I have been out and put some posters up around the surrounding area of the park, think we need to target around St. Helens wood going up to the ridge way next.
gina c
I am going to St Helens Woods later this afternoon with my dog. Will keep an eye out for Lady and speak to as many people as I can whilst I am there.
janine
There are now posters in the local vets, coopers, 1066, Sussex coast and also in pets at home. Will go out later this arvo with more posters if still no joy.

Sorry to hear Lady is still missing, was hoping that she might have returned home last night when all was quiet, unfortunately all those fireworks that went off last nught have probably scared her away.. there is also the beer festival tonight and tomorrow which no doubt will be loud. I hope she is found or sighted before then. I live locally and will be in and out around area all day, will keep eyes peeled. Will have a walk around area this eve if she hasnt been found by then. My guess id she is probably hiding up somewhere .. stay safe Lady x
janine
I am printing out some posters and will drop into the local vets. There have been lots of shares on the facebook sites. Her owner is out now looking for her.

I've seen posts saying that Lady has not returned home yet so please keep a look out for her. It seems that
I still have not been able to get a correct email address which is very frustrating but I have just spoken to Lady's owner who says that
Lady was lost much earlier than I thought. She ran off at 3pm down St Helens Rd towards town when there were several loud bangs and has not been seen since. There's an alley down in that direction but this has been checked although she could be in gardens in the area. She ran in the opposite direction of the park (but could be back there by now) and owner thinks possibly towards St Helens Wood which she is not familiar with.
Owner put bedding out last night in garden and I have advised that he gets as many posters out as possible.
Let's hope Lady stays off the roads and makes a swift return home. Last edited: 2016-07-01 09:32:23 by Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex

Thanks Alison.
JCampbell: I'm trying to send email advice out to you but unfortunately the email address you have registered on here is coming back as 'undelivered'
I have sent text to you about this.
Please make sure that you report to our Dog Wardens that Lady is missing. They are a 24/7 service in Hastings 01424 490034. Also please let the microchip company know.

I would suggest that you leave some bedding/unwashed clothing in the place where Lady was lost from so that she has some familiar scent to make her way back to.
She is most likely to do this when all is quiet at dawn or dusk.

I would also suggest that you get as many posters out asap so that people are aware that Lady is missing. You will be able to print them directly from the poster page on here. This is the best way to get sightings coming in of where Lady is/has been.
I have shared to Doglost East Sussex, Hastings Dog Lovers and my page on Fbk.
Best of luck with your search.

shared on facebook Paw Helping Dogs in Need, you are more then welcome to join. I hope you find her soon.
