- From Hope Rescue-
"A CATCH UP WITH BILLY....
Sadly no onwer has come forward for Billy - thank you so much to everyone who shared his post and the many people who got in touch. Thank you also to our generous supporter's who have donated £390 towards his care.
Billy has now served his 7 days in agreement with Blaenau Gwent CBC and is now officially a Hope Rescue dog. He has settled well in his foster home although it is clear he has not lived in a home for a while (or even ever). Billy is fearful of household appliances and his house training is a work in progress. He also isn't keen on being left. However, he loves other dogs and is most at home at work with his foster Mum in the grooming parlour! He still needs to put some weight on before he can be neutered and he is having a little trouble with hsi ears, but otherwise he is doing well. It will therefore be a little while before Billy is ready for rehoming.
Thank you so much for all your support." - 2016-07-16 21:38 susieq666

- Wow well done Hope Rescue !!

- Buster has a prominent white patch on front of chest and this one doesnt appear to have one and therefore I doubt it is Buster.
- 2016-07-06 20:42 ClaireC
- Doubt it is Finn as he is chipped and this one not! Also Finn is a smaller dog ie toy poodle cross Shitz than this one but also brown colouring as opposed to black.
- 2016-07-06 17:36 BorderCol
- 90025 Buster, a bedlington cross?
Finn looks a possibility and someone has suggested.on his page

- This morning's update from Hope Rescue who have called this dog "Billy" for now-
"Hi everyone. At the moment we are concentrating on trying to hopefully find his owner and responding to the many heartbreaking messages from owners hoping he is their lost dog. We can't be clear on his breed either - two breed rescues both think he is their breed but he could equally be a crossbreed. If people are interested in adopting him they can register an interest by emailing adoption@hoperescue.org.uk but our priority is to try and reunite him. If not we will consider adoption applications once he is properly assessed neutered etc." - 2016-07-06 08:02 Bo

Well done to the groomers here-Leigh and Layla. Apart from being a whole lot more comfortable, he looks absolutely cracking. Thank you for this incredible transformation and for caring.

- Update from FB: This little chap was the one we posted about earlier. A lady looking for her own lost dog managed to catch him. We are on our way to pick him up and get him to the vets, then will phone the dog warden in the morning. Just because his coat is in such a bad way does not mean he doesn't have anyone looking for him as he may be stolen. Please share to try and find his owner.

- Good to read that the dog is safe. Hope there will be a happy ending.

He has not been neutered. - 2016-07-05 05:27 Bo
- Update via Vanessa commenting (she's the founder of Hope Rescue in Wales)
Vanessa Waddon Quick update. Just met Kellie at Swindon and all good. Can confirm her heart was absolutely in the right place and she just just wasn't aware of the law. He will be going to the vets on the way home then if OK he will be groomed tomorrow. But need to see what vet says first. Have seen comments about the homeless guy so will follow up.
and then later .....
"He is at the vets overnight. Little dehydrated and skin and bone under his matted coat. About 3 years old. We need to get his coat clipped tomorrow then back to the vets for a proper check as they can't really see much through all the matts. Will update tomorrow. Not chipped but will te-scan once coat clipped." - 2016-07-04 20:01 Unknown
- Bless her she must have desperately wanted it to be her dog. Hope this one has a happy ending.
- 2016-07-04 19:22 Bo
- Good to see that update - anyone who drives for hours on end to see if a dog belongs to her gets respect in my book.

"Vanessa Waddon ....I have spoken to her. She is already at Reading but has agreed to turn around and meet one of our volunteers at the services so we are on our way. He will go straight to the vets then we will call the dog warden in the morning and hopefully arrange for him to do his 7 days with us. Will also put him on our page as found tonight if you can all share. Please don't give Kellie a hard time as she has agreed to do the right thing now." - 2016-07-04 18:59 Unknown
- New picture added. Don't think it's a puli but a rather matted cross breed. Least safe. Thanks for update Bo x
- 2016-07-04 18:48 Bo
- The lady who has the dog is aware of the law and happy for the police to be contacted - she thinks this dog is hers and I've not seen where anyone states the dog is male or female .... unless I missed that as the guy who originally posted the dog did have a caught picture of the dog in a car. At least the dog is safe. Edited to add I found a dog once and with the DWs blessing the dog went out of area as all details were passed to the DW so contact could be made if the owner was indeed found. - This is Hope Rescue response..... It is extremely worrying, we are trying our hardest to track her down so we can get him to the vets, reported to dog warden, advertised as found etc. Just because he is in a bad condition does not mean he doesn't have an owner looking for him as he may be stolen. By law he MUST be reported to the dog warden and cannot be taken out of area.

- Has been caught and a lady is taking back to Essex!!!
- 2016-07-04 18:42 Baydogs
- It is definitely NOT her dog. The found dog is male. Hers was female.
- 2016-07-04 18:17 Baydogs
- Oh dear. I read that the scan didn't show a chip and the dog has been taken by a lady from Essex who has a dog missing - back to Essex.
People are advising her of the law. - 2016-07-04 17:41 Baydogs
- The dog has been caught. Unsure of further details as yet. Photo here-

Hi everyone - Hope Rescue here. Just posted this on our page and we would be really grateful if everyone could take note. The staff have gained its trust but we need everyone else to stay away now please - thank you so much for trying to help though. The site staff are confident they can safely contain it if everyone backs off and if not we will set a trap. We are meting them on site tomorrow but please respect their (and our) request in the interim. Thank you
STRAY DOG IN BRYNMAWR - IMPORTANT PLEASE READ
We have received a number of messages about a stray dog in an industrial estate in Brynmawr. We are in direct contact with the site management and are working on a plan to safely contain the dog. Whilst we appreciate everyones concern can we please respectfully request that no-one else goes to the site. Not only has the dog been scared off but this is a busy industrial estate with lots of vehicular movements. The management are very concerned that people turning up to try and catch the dog are causing a potential hazard. We promise to keep you updated.Last edited: 2016-07-04 15:27:09 by Baydogs - 2016-07-04 09:18 Baydogs
- Owl, it may be useful for the dog warden to know that an "old guy" (? rough sleeper)has been seen putting a slip lead on this dog, therefore he has this dog's trust. If this person could be located, and was willing to help, this would be the least traumatic way for the dog to be caught and helped.

- thankyou owl so much for getting things organised. no doubt soon these wise folk will have got the dog safe and sound
- 2016-07-04 08:13 ClaireC
- Thats sounding a bit more encouraging to get this dog to safety. Thanks Owl for update. Keeping everything crossed.

- Needs feeding regularly in place where it is, people staying away then a humane trap. Poor little dog. The more out chasing the harder it will be to contain. Wonder if an ex puppy farm dog.

- Folks, it's a puli. Or so I most strongly believe, having lived with 4 of them. I have been in touch with a puli owner and a local rescuer and put them in touch with each other. Puli lady will be talking to the dog warden tomorrow. Let's hope everyone can work together to catch and scan this poor dog, and get that coat sorted.
- 2016-07-03 20:36 Hollieberry
- Poor little mite it desperately needs help but is obviously very wary of humans ,it will take time and patience to trap it .Please people do not scare this dog anymore by chasing it ,leave it to people who know what they are doing.
- 2016-07-03 19:56 ClaireC
- You would think so wouldnt you Jenny!
- 2016-07-03 19:43 Unknown
- I read the Dog Warden tried to catch it surely it would make sense to try and set up a feeding station first and gain its trust? Dont want it running off
- 2016-07-03 19:05 Baydogs
- Bless it Donna, there could be anything under that coat - along with the fleas, ticks, urine and faeces burns. Unbeknown to it, this little one has become quite the internet celebrity today with so many hearts hoping it might be their long lost loved one. But it has yet to be caught.
- 2016-07-03 18:37 Donna
- Could it possibly be an Irish water spaniel?
