- FB Update: Colin was spotted last night walking up by the rock at 10.30pm by two ladies in a car... He was walking towards the car
Were gonna concentrate on the helsby hill, rock, area and stay there next few days
He's going around the same areas he went missing and has been spotted ... This is now getting shorter which is what we want. He looked in good health albeit a bit scruffy.
Key people will stay in one place with a bbq and camping and try and flush Colin out .
We need for people to continue looking but follow the following if possible please?
Carry food with you
If spotted, don't drive off
call Ian on 07581 359944 immediately
Throw food his way in a calm submissive manner
Don't give him ANY eye contact
Turn to the side and keep on throwing food to him
If he walks / runs off see what direction and watch and observe if possible.. This is crucial
We still need people to check for sightings
These sightings are crucial
Thank you so much everyone ... The family really appreciate it
Please share - 2016-07-19 23:58 GingerScouser
- FB update: Possible sighting. At around 7.00am this morning I was walking up helsby hill from middle walk and spotted what looked like a Jack Russell running up the rocks near the top. No owners in sight. When I got to the top the dog was nowhere to be seen. Not sure it was Colin but might be worth keeping an eye out for him in this area. I have contacted the owners to let them know. Hope he turns up safe and sound soon.

- Another Update from FB:
Hi everyone
Colins owners received a phone call at tea time to say a couple saw a jack Russell walking down a road in Ashton Hayes
The lady was fairly close, she offered him a biscuit and at the last minute he ran off down the road
Two other people saw this dog too.
When shown the poster they believed it was Colin.. The lady even described a patch which he does have.
We got down there pronto and have drove & walked down the roads.
Scented some areas, spoke to some neighbours and will poster area first thing in morning
We even had a little girl in her pyjamas out looking with us!!
We've raised lots of awareness & chatted to the small knit community
If you know anyone in Ashton Hayes village could you share ..,
Advice is as always
Offer food - look away and don't give eye contact and phone owners ASAP
We will hope to have some of you with us to search tomorrow but have to be careful not to have lots of people turn up which could potentially scare him off .. I know you will appreciate and understand this.
Many thanks - 2016-07-16 20:52 billybob
- Oh brilliant news. That's about 6 miles away from Helsby. Colin must be tired by now. Hope this brings good news. Thanks GS

- Update from FB:
Colin is still missing. We don't understand it as there have been many volunteers on the lookout for him, and sightings are rare.
There is now a reward for the safe return of Colin.
Colin's dad, Cliff, is elderly and is severely distressed as Colin is his companion since his Stroke. Please, if you have any info can you call Ian on 07584650493 or Sue on 07581359944.
Professional dog trackers have asked that nobody approach Colin or feed him as this will hinder the tracking process. If you sight him please contact Sue or Ian on the numbers above.
Time is passing quickly and the family are losing hope. Please let us keep the awareness out there so that we find him very soon.
Thank you to all who have been helping find Colin. You have all been amazing and the family are extremely grateful. - 2016-07-14 08:48 billybob

- Update from Facebook:
Just been out searching for the missing Jack Russell Colin in Helsby Quarry
Received a great sighting this morning on Tarvin Road and corner of Bates Lane so he's staying in the local area.
Whilst we were out searching, Sue the owner has just received a crank call / text saying they had seen her dog and asking does he like grapes?? Knowing full well grapes are poisonous to dogs
The caller has since denied texting this info but did sound under the influence ??
It's ok ... We have his number !!
To the silly boy who just made a crank call about Colin the missing Jack Russell we have your number and also just found your profile too.
Do you think it's funny to upset the owners of a missing dog? Think it's funny that his owner had a stroke recently and is heartbroken... Your name is Joe and you haven't got away with this. I have your number
To any parents whose young sons hang out in Helsby Quarry .. I would be concerned and have never seen so much pot smoking in all my life by these gangs of young lads! and it will be shared across Helsby
Never seen so many young males in woods before in my life - never seen so many bags of pot being smoked neither - it's a shame cos Helsby Quarry is such a lovely place too
Search will go on for Colin tomorrow - 2016-07-03 17:30 Jayne - Founder Doglost.
