Checked again with PETRAC that details are there of Ted Missing possibly stolen.If scanned then owner will be informed of this.
Until Ted is scanned we have no idea where he could be - a stray if the story escaped is correct- but then should be scanned.. or sold on maybe again need to be scanned..

Is this pet sitter a person who advertises as such? If so i would hope they have insurance to cover any losses. I would send a letter claiming a huge amount and threaten to take via courts for compensation if Ted is not recovered. We really need the microchip number on site as well (can only be seen by those with admin access).
It must be reported to police although they may not treat as stolen without good reason - owner needs to state facts of what has been said by this so called pet sitter- admitted taking off ID tag and maybe a visit from the police might make them realise this will not be taken lightly.

This should be classed as theft. I hope you have notified the police and obtained a CRN no. If you do this please notify admin of number and then your dog can be treated as stolen.

phoned owner to see latest. she said she would visit the dogsitter today with a male friend to ask him how it happened, where the alleged hole in the hedge is, and exactly why HE REMOVED ID TAG FROM COLLAR, AND TOLD HER HE HAD DONE SO !!!!!!!!

petsitter told owner he took off teds collar......... why would anyone minding anyone dogs do that? didn't tell snyone he had lost ted............ so not only a solicitor letter I would ask 2 large gentleman to come with me and ask petsitter to go thro exactly when it happened how it happened show the gap in the hedge ted is meant to have got through ............. I personally think petsitter knows where ted is

NickyB I would certainly take this further too, was the petsitter registered etc. Anyone can call themselves a petsitter these days but if you look after animals you would need to ensure they are kept safe all of the time. Hope the petsitter has done all he can to get the dog found! x

rose owner does not have internet or mobile phone. yes he escaped from garden but you need to speak to her for whole story. if it was my dog one thing of many I would do is get a solicitors letter to him - the dog was in his care and he lost it..... its only the same as leaving your car at the garage for repair, or watch jewellers, etc and they lost it ....... doglost.co.uk have given the owner lots of advice, one of which is to get police CRN crime reference number.

Did he get out of the petsitters garden? Make sure you have lots of posters out in the area he went missing so that everyone is aware and to make him TOO HOT TO HANDLE. Hope he is found very soon x

• If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
• Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
