- Indeed a very complex case. the vets that scanned Ollie had the details of old owner and it appears any notes about this dog are not visible after petlog updated their computer system.
New owner needs to obtain his proof of adoption from Raysted.
He needs to ask why the microchip details were not updated to the kennel or he advised to update himself by getting a form and stated re homed by that rescue.
He needs to ask Raysted if they have proof of dates from the council when the dog was first found - what attempts were made to ring the owner ( whose details are still registered as owner as i can clearly see then - as could the vet)
what records there are held to say old owners made no attempt to collect him or claim him - then dates he served his 7 days or longer - hence then could legally be re-homed.
Present owner needs to get all this information together as this is now an ownership dispute not a missing dog. - 2016-07-07 15:52 Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex
- Oh my goodness. Ollie has been found but is not back with his rightful owner. It seems that he has been given back to his previous owner. Due to the cctv being put on Fbk today and Ollie being made too hot to handle it seems the person who had him took him to the vet. The vets scanned him and found his microchip but due to the database not checking all the details and notes on their records the poor dog was returned to the wrong owner.
Reposted from Damien "Hello all, I Would just like to say thank you very much for all your support we have finally found Ollie and tracked him down.
But sadly due to a Administration error from the dog kennel that we got him from, he has been handed back to the owners that had him before us.
Of corse Ollie was taken away from those people due to him not being looking after correctly. So very much a mixed emotion day to be honest!
We have of course got lawyers and the police involved and hopefully he will be home shortly. Once again thanks for all your support"
I really hope that Damien is able to get his dog back safely and that it does not take too much time. Last edited: 2016-07-11 18:14:40 by Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex - 2016-07-06 10:00 Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex
- I'm so sorry to see Ollie is missing.
Damien: I have sent you email advice to help with your search. As you have cctv footage please make sure that you have informed the Police (you should get in incident/crime number from them)
I have shared to Doglost East Sussex and my page. Also Brighton Dogwatch have put him on their page so please check that post as often people will put sightings on there.
Please get as many posters up asap so that you make Ollie too hot to handle. Posters are the very best way to do this and if he has not been taken by someone they are also the best way to get sightings reported to you. (Posters can be printed directly from the 'view poster' page.
If somone has taken Ollie in for safety then they should report this to the Dog Wardens (as required by law) so hopefully this is what will happen.
Please keep this page updated with sightings or other news as not all our helpers are on social media.
Very best of luck with your search. - 2016-07-06 07:02 Jayne - Founder Doglost.

- Sorry to see that OLLIE is missing.
- If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
- Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
- A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (102045)
- Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
- You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
- Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
- If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
- If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
- Keep us updated by keeping your dog's page up to date and check for posts from helpers who may have suggestions and possible matches or sightings
- DogLost is free and anyone asking for money to find or return your dog is not volunteering for us. If you are concerned about an approach you have received, please email admin@doglost.co.uk
