It has been brought to my attention that a Mirror online report on the tragic and fatal accident on the A34 a few days ago contained quotes attributed to a DogLost Co-ordinator. DogLost would like to state that at no point did we speak to the Mirror. At our request, the Mirror have removed those quotes from the news report.

Such an awful, heartbreaking tragedy! I cant even begin to imagine the pain this family will be feeling. :'( I'm so glad although traumatised no doubt that Honey is safe and well, hopefully she can provide some form of comfort to this poor family and her furbrother/sister who must also be traumatised. Rest in perfect peace beautiful angels and may justice prevail that the driver pays his time for what he has caused! Sleep peacefully. X x

I am so terribly sorry for the loss of this lovely family. Thank god you found Honey safe. I lost my daughter in a road traffic accident, I can't imagine how anyone would feel to witness the wiping out of an entire family and his daughter too. Sending much strength and love to all involved just horrific. I was insensed last night to hear the 'driver who caused this tragedy is out on bail'. :-(

Nothing in the world can give back what was lost.
That is the terrible thing.
Someone was arrested for dangerous driving and is now out on bail.
What a heartache for the family just terrible

im guessing the two dogs were travelling with the surviving child and the ladies partner, who all survived in that vehicle - as Jenny mentioned below that the other dog is also alive. A horrific accident and the inquiry will reveal what events led up to this tragedy - anyone found culperable I hope will do time for manslaughter.

HONEY IS NOW UNDER THE CARE OF NEWBURY POLICE
Honey is fine but will spend the night at the vet just to be monitored and will be home tomorrow.

Its absolutely terrible what happened to this poor family. I noticed it stated there was two dogs, does anyone know if they were both on holiday with them and if the other is ok? It doesnt say it on the website or on here x

First reports are that Honey is ok - but will still be checked over.
Hopefully this will give some comfort to the other dog as well who is in shock

Honey has just been found. Waiting for more news. The threat of Tiga! I was just talking to family when we had to cut call short because of news. Fingers crossed Honey is ok.

The RTA was near to East Ilsley - the vehicle was heading north - the apparent sighting was the dog heading south bound on the A34. I'm told that Jenny and Tiga are being mobilised to search but that's not confirmed

The mother and her two sons died along with the daughter of the partner
Who travelled in the car behind along with his son.
I have fingers crossed this poor dog gets found.
The accident must have scared her so much.

This is a heartbreaking story. The poor family. I live in Chieveley and could get out to search this evening if necessary. But I would need some more information about sightings as apart from the A34 and M4 we are very rural here. It would be like looking for a needle in a haystack. Sorry but I don't do Facebook. Glad to see Honey on here now...Lots of shares on FB will share her page,Lets hope Alerts can get some helpers out there!...I was in the area today ,but no sighting sorry to say ....Is it posible she is hurt?....If so she may well not be too far away.Apparently there was a sighting just after of her running Southbound on the A34.

Tragic accident on the A34 yesterday near Newbury which resulted in a mother and her 3 children being killed. Her partner was travelling in the car behind and is in hospital. Honey was one of two dogs in the vehicle and ran away. Police and local DW aware
