Me too Mel. He deserves justice

I reckon someone out there knows something and is hoping Bryn is just going to be forgotten and it will all go away. As I said before I hope RSPCA are still working on this for this lovely boy.
Unknown
When i was chairman of the Animal Help Society in Ilford Essex the RSPCA used to tell people to contact us when they phoned them, there are some very good inspectors who do great work and really care about dogs but some are useless and a lot of office staff just go through the motions, the only time they really spring into action is when there is a camera or press present!! very sad to say but i know from bitter experience
NickyB
sadly it seems, as in most cases of horribly cruelly abandoning the animal, the owners arent traced. but there was 1 little dog left in a graveyard in liverpool, and a skeletal greyhound found on an industrial estate in cumbria - BOTH OWNERS WERE TRACED AND ARE BEING PROSECUTED - BUT THIS DEPENDS ON THE PUBLIC - SURELY SOMEONE RECOGNISES BRYN??????? THEY MUST TELL THE AUTHORITIES, BUT SO MANY DONT WANT TO BE INVOLVED AND SO USUALLY THE CULPRIT GOES FREE. ITS UP TO US ANIMAL LOVERS TO HELP
Unknown
Me too Mel To be honest someone i know had cause to conact the rspca, and would you believe it?: they have been out twice already
I think it`s who you talk to sometimes on the end of the phone
Mel
I sincerely hope that RSPCA are working on this case and dear Bryn has not been forgotten. RIP dear boy xxx

I hope that during his last time on earth he found some love.I do hope the owners can be found but until we know the full story i wont say any more . Just RIP beautiful boy XX

I am so sad to read the news that Bryn didn`t make it, GOD BLESS HIS SOUL. Post have said they wonder how "people" who did this can sleep at night, and how "humans" let this poor animal suffer and walk away ... whoever did this to Bryn is not a "person" nor a "human" ... he/she/they are a sub-species better known as SCUM and I hope one day they will find out just what it must have felt like to be Bryn in his last days ( or probably for his whole life truth be told ... I dread to think what his life was like ) I hope the RSPCA follow up all leads and the police can prosecute the SCUM and put them where they belong and throw away the key.

NickyB I think some people buy an animal on a whim. They dont think about vet fees, walking, grooming, kenneling (Holidays) feeding They jsut see a cute face.
NickyB
i feared this would be the outcome. thank heavens for rspca as they will be able to prosecute when owner traced. its now up to the public to try and track the owner. when a poor dog in a similar situation, alive but terribly neglected was found in liverpool, the owner was traced and said she had asked her grandson to take her dog to the vet........... but rspca prosecuted for the appalling condition the dog was in.i sent a donation to rspca merthyr tydfil for his care - sadly although he didnt make it they will have many others who need their care. why are some people so cruel - nobody makes you have a pet

I am heartbroken to read this sad news about 'Bryn', how anyone could walk away leaving their dog to die alone on a mountain completely beats me, they are without feeling, without a heart. I hope they get found out though I doubt they will. Thank goodness kind people found him and helped him though sadly too late.

If only animals could tell us the abuse they have suffered.Perhaps the shame would make humans respect them a great deal more.Bless you Bryn.So sorry that you loved the wrong humans.I would think that you have been a kind and loyal dog.You deserved better .xx

GUTTED for the sad ending of this gorgeous GSD who was named BRYN by his FINDER.

THANK YOU to his FINDERS and everyone who tried to save him.

Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.

There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.

There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Carried in a carpet
And, laid down to die
My owner leaves me
Without even a sigh

What have I done?
Did I do wrong?
I feel so alone
The minutes grow long

Then I see someone
who sees my plight
Loving arms around me
They hold me tight

They try, and save me
a cure came too late
Gently put to sleep
That was my fate

Please get justice
For dogs like me
We are defencless animals
As you can see

Please do not weep
I am no longer alone
Am havng loads of fun
in my forever home

Love

From

The person who thought it was OK to leave their sick dog to die on a lonely dirt path covered with an old carpet needs to take a long look in the mirror and ask themselves how they'd like to spend their last few hours. Bloody unbelievable.

From SummerHill vets - confusing as to who's care he was under but not relevant now. I hope the woman fundraising does the right thing and passes the money over.

We only have sad news about the white German Shepherd found on a mountain yesterday I'm afraid. Blood tests showed complete kidney failure and an inability to produce any urine after 24 hours on treatment. After discussions with several Vets and the RSPCA it was decided not to prolong the suffering any longer and we sadly opted for euthanasia. We wish there was a miracle cure for organ failure, but sadly there isn't. We are humbled by the public response to this canine friend and think that any money raised for this patient should be donated to the RSPCA for all the hard work and commitment they give to reduce suffering in our four legged friends."

oh no how very sad poor soul, one good thing this baby is in no more pain, as for the people who dumped him they are cowards and should be ashamed of themselves for not getting help for this dog. Such a terrible act. Nightie, night Bryn-, sleep tight, and play with your pals at "Rainbow Bridge" RIP+ God Blessx A~~~Candle~~~burns for you Preciuous Bryn. You were not let down by a human, you were let down by a uncaring scumbag. Surely someone must recognise the poor dog, and the owner. I hope the rspca find who is responsible, and "Throws thr book at them" I think there should be a life ban on keeping any aninals. And a prison sentence; lock them up , and throw the key away It makes you wonder how someone like this treats their own family. Whoever you are "ROT IN HELL" I hope we get justice for Bryn At ,least we know you you are well, and safe at "Rainbow Bridge"after being carried over in the arms of a loving Angel (HUG)X

Very sadly has been confirmed as being put to sleep, the finder just received a phone call from the officer dealing with his case. Unfortunately he was in renal failure and wasn't repsponding to the fluid therapy, he was put to rest this morning and is out of pain now 🌈 The RSPCA are looking into his case and any information please pass it on to them. Devastated he didnt pull through but let's at least get justice for him!

Where ever he is - hes being funded by the RSPCA apparently - although the finders mother said trying to get the RSPCA involved was very frustrating and hard work which is why the finder took the dog to SummerHill vets in the first place.
"FB by the lady & her daughter who found the dog in Fochriw, I have re-posted this as there seems to be a lot of confusion & false stories being posted....

I have read a lot of different stories on here over the last day about the dog myself my wonderful daughter and the others who witnessed this awful act of cruelty on the mountain on fri 12 th. There seems to lots of specalation about what happened to him and hows hes being cared for so we thought we would state some facts. The dog was almost definately dumped there not crawled as some people are saying. I personally think it would be impossible for him to completely wrap himself up in a carpet..fact. the photo shown is after he was unwrapped to assess injuries. The dog is being cared for at a vets under the care of the rspca who is covering all vet bills..fact. so all though we think it is extremely kind of everyone setting up donations and funds. This would be going to rspca not vets. Just thought people should know. The kindness of people through messages is overwhelming and heartfelt i am very proud of Robyn Jones and Huw Griffiths for caring and taking him to vets. Also Cheryl Titcomve and bunny and the lady who was first at scene who all helped a loving animal in need. I like so many hope he pulls through... lets all keep him in our prayers and hope the person responsible is found xxxx"Last edited: 2016-08-14 11:17:08 by Bo

SummerHill Vets in Newport (very close to Dogslost HQ) have this dog under their care - no update as to his condition. Huge debate on FB as to his breed so I've changed his description to large breed. There is a Just giving page set up by someone but the vets haven't verified they've approved the just giving page as yet. The vets don't want a deluge of phone calls so please wait for updates on their FB page. The Mercury paper rang me yesterday (please don't give out my number without contacting me first Dogslost - second time you've done that). The newspapers I hope do pick up the story to spread awareness of this poor dogs plight. I advised the very pleasant reporter I was cross posting from FB.

The RSPCA has appealed for information on what happened to the German Shepherd

The image of the dog has been shared more than 11,500 times on Facebook
A dog is fighting for its life after being reportedly “found dumped” on a South Wales mountain wrapped in a carpet.

The RSPCA has appealed for information after the German Shepherd was found by a member of the public at Fochriw in the Rhymney Valley on Friday.

The dog is being cared for by vets but the animal charity says it is too soon to tell whether he’ll be able to make a recovery.

A photo of the dog wrapped in carpet and among other rubbish has been shared more than 11,500 times on Facebook.

The dog was found wrapped in a carpet
A statement from the charity said: “The RSPCA is very concerned about this German Shepherd found dumped by the side of the road up a mountain in the Fochriw area of Wales yesterday. He was wrapped in carpet and in an extremely poorly state.

“The dog is very unwell still and is very lethargic and flat, but is being cared for by the vets as best they can.

'Too soon to say whether he will survive'

“He is on fluids and pain relief. It is too soon to say whether he will survive his ordeal or not.

“We are very grateful to the kind passer-by for rescuing this poor dog.

“We ask anyone with any information about how this dog was left in this way to call us on 03001 238018.”

Thank you for listing him Bo. I keep checking back to see if there has been any update on how he is doing as I can't stop thinking of him X
Bo
Ali - If I owned a large breed and the dog collapsed - I'd roll the dog onto the carpet , not hide the dog under the carpet. The village is a short way from where the dog was left, the young woman who found the dog was with the dog a fair while whilst help came.
Bo
I've no idea the breed Sylvia - as I mentioned when posted my first impression was Golden Retriever cross - which isn't an option. So I put Golden Retriever - and then waited for the critics to start ....
Unknown
Nothing yet on if he survived the night. Think it's obvious he was dumped like the rest of the rubbish around him. Fingers crossed he will pull through.Last edited: 2016-08-13 11:06:01

Has it been confirmed that he's a retriever? I ask because the solid upright ears look more like a shepherd. I'd hate to think this dog has been stolen and dumped by some scumbag and his owners miss the poster because the info is wrong. xxx I've got everything crossed that he made it through the night.
Ali
Whilst this is shocking I think we are jumping to conclusions here, maybe the dog collapsed on a walk and the owner had gone to get help or something? If the dog was intentionally abandoned I would have expected them to place him off the track so that they wouldn't be found. Having said all that it could still be some low life scum who did this.Last edited: 2016-08-13 10:26:14 by Ali

Poor boy, how upsetting to see him like this. I hope whoever was responsible for leaving him on this mountain track is brought to justice. Most owners go to the end of the earth and back again to protect and care for their dogs who should be treated as family members.
Thank you to the lady who found him and cared for him
Sarah
Just so hoping this boy makes it. I think maybe a German Shepherd/GSD cross (just looking at his large seemingly upright ear (on the ground side)). Let's hope everything that can be done, will be done for him.Last edited: 2016-08-13 08:47:33 by Sarah

thankyou kind angel who found this poor dog and carried him home. even tho poor thing is thin it would be some task for me. i will now offer the wonderful rspca, merthyr tydfil help with vet bills.

i would love to meet the person who took the trouble to carry their dog all this way to leave him to die - i want to see what they look like and talk to them to understand what makes them do such a weird thing. is it solely to avoid paying to have dog put to sleep? no doubt vet would alert rspca to dogs condition and they might be prosecuted.
