I doubt they will know anything as he was only at the vets a few hours until he was picked up by the dog warden and then i heard he was being moved again a couple of days later...

The found dog may have a Microchip or a Tattoo - please have the dog scanned and checked for a tattoo at a vet's so that owners may be contacted as soon as possible.
