We have found Lilly. Scared dirty and tired but healthy. She was found an hour ago and the family called xxx

thank you to everyone who helped by shearing our posts and actually going out looking for her. Thank you to doglost for making the posters which got the telephone call to me earlier today. And thank you to the wonderful couple who found her ( who I promptly I hugged while crying my eyes out lol).

Touched and amazed by everyone's kindness. You are amazing xxx

MISSING BLACK AND WHITE BORDER COLLIE!!!
7yr old black and white border collie. Who answers to the name of Lilly.
Lost at 13:00 today in elba park shiney row . Sunderland .
She was left with a dog minder who accidentally left go of her lead and Lilly bolted. She has her normal collar on as well as a collar from the dog minder along with a lead attached.
Lilly is my dads baby girl and he is beside himself with worry. Please contact me or Yvette Anne Fairley with any news, sightings or if you have found her.

* Posters work ! Print off the doglost.co.uk posters with a mobile contact number and put outside garages, Banks, dog walking sites, supermarkets, postal sorting offices, bus stops, rough pubs (where dogs get traded). Expect the odd hoax call.

* Familiar smells help guide them back home. Put outside your home (or where they went missing) their favourite food, unwashed family laundry, contents of your hoover bag, some of your urine and leave out a familiar toy). These smell of 'home' and can be detected from far away.

* Make sure there is someone in the area they went missing from in case they return. Keep quiet and sit low down or on the floor and do not rush to the dog.

* Don’t shout your dog’s name anxiously - they won't recognise the tone of your voice. Call as you would normally. After a few hours dogs may go into survival mode and calling will not work.

* Search in a triangular area - Dogs go from A to B to C to A (as they pick up their own scent and follow it) when they’re lost.

* Set up a team of spotters once the dog has been seen.

* Alert local FACEBOOK GROUPS (selling pages, dog groups) Dog wardens, vets, dog walkers, rescue centres, Police (a dog counts as lost property).
