lisastar, you need to establish if it actually him first and where he is hanging out, selling big issue or similar. Probably best to ask dog warden if they would be willing to come to the area if you find him, as they know the law and may be able to talk the lad round without money exchanging hands, or too much in anycase. If you are unable to contact dog warden and it is him, back off and follow the lad to his overnight accomodation. At least you will know his whereabouts at night, until you can get help the next day. It will be tough for you not to go and grab Star if it is him, but will hopefully pay off being patient. pm me if you want any further help. Sue xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I would probably head down there a few nights in a row with a friend and discreetly ask the volunteers there if they have seen Star (take a photo so you dont have to be overheard too much in case the lad doesn't come back). They may be able to let you know I dont know what you can do from there apart from knowing Star will recognise you and hopefully that will be enough for the lad to give him back - or offer him money to buy your dog back?? Best of luck with it, I hope you find Star soon xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

trailhoundmum:
Lisa I live about 5miles from Exeter. Have you thought about the Gypsy site on Sowton which is not far from you. Also there have been more than one lot of travellers in Exeter this summer, one at Sowton also one at Marsh Barton not far from the Makro store. also have you been in contact with the police? If so you need to check with them regulary. All the vets surgery's need to be contacted, also dog wardens not just the Exeter warden but also East Devon/ Mid Devon as they don't talk to each other. Posters in local shops, Pets at Home have a notice board. Good luck stay safe Star. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

As soon as Admin receives a photograph, the poster will be emailed out to helpers. Posters need to be displayed as soon as possible on notice boards, lamp posts, entrances to parks, dog bins and on cars. Take posters to vets, pet shops, postmen (for sorting offices), milkmen, dustmen, street cleaners, taxi drivers, schools, pubs, youth clubs, newsagents, post offices, takeaways, dog training clubs, supermarkets and car parks. Hand out reduced-down posters or cards to people - especially dog walkers - and deliver to houses and businesses. Police stations, Dog Wardens, the RSPCA and all rescue centres need checking frequently and preferably visited in person by owner or someone who knows Star well. Good Luck Star. Stay safe until we find you x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
