Oh how sad and heartbreaking. I am so very, very sorry to hear about Lulu. RIP darling girl. Run happy and free at the Bridge beautiful sweetheart xxxx
Mrs O
I am so very grateful to everyone at DogLost for helping and supporting me, particular thanks to Phebe, Isobel and their dogs Wispa and Finlay, to Mrs London and to Jeeves, without whom I might have succumbed to inertia through despair and exhaustion. The search for a missing dog brings with it a very particular and relentless torture that cannot be imagined. I kept my promise to my girl and I found my Lulu's body and I took her home. If you want to ready the full story please go to my Facebook page Help find Lulu @whereislulu. I support a number of other charities but in memory of my girl and my commitment to finding her, whatever it took, I would like to raise a modest bit of funding for Norfolk Terrier Rescue which is the official breed club rescue. This club operates entirely by volunteers, it is too small to be a charity and is committed to dealing with EVERY Norfolk in distress. If you ever find a Norfolk Terrier in a rescue centre it is because the club do not know about it. Breeding dogs is, I know, emotive. The Norfolk Terrier club takes the responsibility of breeding very seriously and keeps rescue and welfare of Norfolks in house. There will be a link from my Facebook page later on today but there is no obligation to donate. The support and encouragement of friends, neighbours and the wider dog community has been both a gift and a blessing in itself. I wish you all well. x

explaining what happened to dear little Lulu. It is too long to copy here due to word restriction per post.
So very very sorry to read this Mrs O and family. So sad, but as you comment, having her home is better than continually not knowing.
Sweet brave girl, rest in peace. Sincere condolences to the family.

I have lit a candle for my Lulu and for all those other wonderful spirits who are no longer with us, whether they were cherished or not... There is much suffering in the animal world, let's use the power of this gathering together, to send a loving thought from the heart, to all those in need right now. I will continue posting for a while, as I piece together what happened to my baby and if anybody wants to follow it please go to her FB page Help find Lulu @whereislulu Thank you all so much for your help and support.

Around 8:30pm yesterday evening I set off to collect my son from Cumbria and I have just returned. I wanted to be with him when I told him I had found our precious girl, in woodland less than 500m from our home. I made a promise to my Lulu that I would find her, and I would bring her home, WHATEVER it took. And this afternoon I found her lifeless body, and I brought her home. Broken, like me....

Thanks jeeves. Yes, I have seen Fred and Hellen C, everyone in Skiplam, Sleighthomedale, Fadmoor and on Star Fits Lane has been alerted and we are now leafleting in Beadlam and Nawton. I have set up a FB page in order to centralise the postings on FB because there is such an amazing amount of support and help that I can't keep on top of it so apologies for not getting back to you sooner. My FB page is called Help find Lulu and it is at @whereisluluhttps://www.facebook.com/whereislulu/
I cannot believe how many people are going out every day searching and last night, within an hour or so of receiving Lulu's leaflet, somebody had spotted a very similar and possibly pure bred Norfolk girl at Yorkshire Vets Morley. It was not my Lulu but it is so very comforting to know that people are actively engaged and wanting to help. Thank you everyone. We had 2 disposable BBQs yesterday in the area we scented her but no joy. They were too hot to bring home so we will pick them up today. I am going out again this morning with a tracking dog and hopefully leafleting too is there is time. My son has been helping but I must take him back up to Cumbria this evening. I know the Rookes so there is a poster at Beadlam Grange and they have taken some flyers. It might be worth giving theme one more though because there are a lot of people go in there so they may have given them all out. x
jeeves
Really sad she has not come home yet, just a thought have you got in touch with Lady C. She would let her staff gamekeepers etc know to keep eye out I am sure, we walk dogs in that area daily and keep looking, calling for her but with 2 big dogs in tow she would probably not willingly show herself. If she is heading in that direction it could have taken her this long to be in that particular area, when we searched the other day may well have been too soon for her to have made it that far. Have been letting everyone we see know about Lulu and I will print off the leaflet and put on my gate also ( I am sure she will not get as far as our property, but people who walk past will be aware she may be around further up the lane) the dogs lost page has also been shared widely by my "doggie crowd" and all are willing her safe return. Maybe worth also putting leaflets in the farm shop (Beadlam Grange) x
Mrs O
My husband went back to that area Owl at dusk with our Norfolk dog in hopes he might scent her or draw her out but no joy yet. I went to get our 15 year old son from school in Cumbria. He knows the area where we found the fresh scent very well from cycling around there with our labrador, and it might make sense that she took them both over there, they got separated and the lab knew how to get back but Lulu didn't. Knowing that area and looking at the OS maps, my son can see how Lulu might be working her way up towards Nawton Tower from where she might get across to Boon Woods which is an area that she does know. He is up and about now and will be searching all day, dawn till dusk. I will post an update tonight or earlier if we find her. I am so very grateful to you Owl and Isobel and your fantastic dogs, and to Mrs london, Elaine, Jeeves, and everyone who is actively looking and being alert. We have delivered 250 flyers and I am getting more printed today. The area of Kirkdale, Sleightholmedale, Skiplam and Fadmoor has been saturated with publicity but Beadlam was not an expected location so we will start doing that today. The lady who heard a terrier and got us to the right location lives in that precise area andis actively out looking and spreading the word. Please God we find her soon.
Elaine Tinker and Hemps mum
Thank you for the update owl. I have told a lot of people in our area about Lulu, so she has a lot of people looking out for her.

Just praying she will get home safely and soon xxxx
DogLostOwl
Our dogs found fresh scent near where a terrier was heard barking on Friday night, and that led us along various footpaths. It would appear that Lulu has gone slightly out of the area she knows and can't find her way home. It is a very quiet rural area with a lot of woodland, and she can easily get around the paths without being seen.
Elaine Tinker and Hemps mum
Any news on Lulu? Thinking of you xxxx
jeeves
No problem thank you for letting me know, I will try my best to be back in time to help x
Mrs O
Thanks jeeves, I hope she is found too but if not it would be great if you can come along. x
Mrs london
Jeeves.......the owners have been advised no other dogs as they may contaminate scent for any tracker dog and also may frighten Lulu and cause her to stay in hiding if she is laying low or injured.
jeeves
Have walked dogs today along High Lane (Top part) and off road also, called for her but no sign sorry. Will try to be with you tomorrow ( we are in Beadlam) and will bring our Terrier if ok, only a pup but he is quite good at tracking already. Really hope she is found before then xx
Mrs O
Yes, we will take our lab, thank you Elaine x
Elaine Tinker and Hemps mum
Take your lab with you on your search, you never know, may be able to follow scent.

I would come and join your search, but just come out of hospital, so not yet up to it. I wish you luck tho xxxx
Mrs O
We are organising a search tomorrow morning (25th September) at 10.30am meeting at Skiplam Grange, Nawton York YO62 7TX. I have some ordnance survey maps with 3 potential routes outlined through the land around Skiplam, Kirkdale, Fadmoor and Gillamoor. Bacon or free range egg butties for hungry helpers! If anyone is available and willing to join us for a couple of hours we would really appreciate it. I don't want to give up on my girl but am beginning to fear the worst.
Elaine Tinker and Hemps mum
Please contact the police. I contacted Malton police the day after my two were stolen (June 2014) not at all helpful at first. But now they tend to listen.

You need to get a crime reference number. It's too much of a coincidence that your lab came back minus a disc on her collar.

Brian Dunn (Ryedale dog warden) is very good and worth contacting.

Praying you get her back, I still search hours daily for my two xxxx
Mrs O
I cannot rule out theft, she strayed with our labrador and the lab came back without her yet quite distressed and upset and without a disc on her collar.
Elaine Tinker and Hemps mum
Do we know if Lulu was stolen? It's just I am in YO62 and my two girls Hemp and Tinker 71080 and 71081 were stolen, there could be a link?

I will search round our area (Hovingham) xxxx
