- Other Info Attempted dog theft at Perran Sands Layby (side of lost church) on the 26/9/16. Woman with blonde hair and man in black golf attempted to steal dog off old lady. (Unsuccessful)Police informed. Crossposted from Cornwall Dog Walking Network FB.

- Hi NickyB - This is becoming common place and if other crimes are anything to go by it won't be very long before someone is seriously hurt...or worse defending members of their family. I would be like a lioness and possibly my own safety would become compromised. I dearly hope I am never is that situation but NO dog is safe and woman out walking their dogs alone are certainly a target.

- marbury park, cheshire cw9 2 foreign males attempted to grab a dog off lead in the park, but dog owner made so much noise yelling and screaming and shouting it scared them off............ similar situation happened in a park in liverpool - woman alone when 2 english women tried to steal ladys dog saying her dog was just like one reported stolen. again her shouts and screams scared them off

- Thanks Jayne. Of course if these people are mobile (which they clearly are) they could turn up at any dog walking spot in Cornwall. Best we are ALL vigilant, no matter what part of the county.

- Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
