- Excellent news... I hope she isn't too footsore! (NickyB, in this case I think the microchip data was simply not to hand - owner is away.)

- That is such a shame, so close yet so far. Has a food station been attempted yet? A set place where she can learn that food will be there at a set time?

- Not good news, got very near to her a couple of times this morning, the third time I was held up so was a little late getting to an area where we had a good chance of catching her, the third time she ran up a track and where she had been getting to the gate and turning this time she went under the gate turned right down the drove and we have not seen her since, I had to go to a meeting this afternoon, my wife and daughter waited quietly near bye but have not seen her.
Just about to go there again to see if at least we can locate her.
Problem is I have to go away for the day tomorrow so unless we can catch her tonight Tuesday is the next time we can get there - 2016-10-02 16:34 Poochpal - Regional Co-ordinator - South West - Police Liaison Team
- Hoping for better news today. At least she is staying close.

- I drove my truck to the top of the field and quietly walked out to where she was during the afternoon we stayed there quietly until dusk, we could see the shepherd on her quad on the other side of the valley, when she went with her headlights on we waited to see if she came to us, we did not see her this evening

- Svend and I have been there this evening, no sign of her but met a farmer who said she was seen again this afternoon at the top of the same field, will go there again at first light, we couldnt get hold of Nick this evening on either phone number, will try again in the morning.

- You know her and she knows you nickcgundogs, you are right, time and patience will get her back. Let's hope not too much time though, it's going to get colder in that field tonight.

- The shepherd showed me where the dog was and she watched us for some time, she knows the dog is not chasing, I train dogs for a living, only have 25 years professional experience, if we could get near to trying to tempt her with food then all would be ok however the field is huge and rolling so at time the dog and us are out of sight, as soon as she sees one of us she is off to the other end of the field,, just need patience and time.

- needs catching urgently unless the farmer is good or she may get shot. you need to sit down, not look at her and chuck food in her direction and very very patient. did doglost send you advice on how to catch a dog?
- 2016-10-01 16:11 nickcgundogs
- Have seen her and tried to catch her three problems, first she is in a field with sheep, she is not chasing them in fact all ok however one of the ways I would try to catch her would be to get one of my other dogs to say hello and then get them back together however having more then one dog off the lead in a field of sheep not good, I have a sheep at home so dogs are used to sheep but still not a thing to do. second the field is surrounded by an electric fence, i am almost certain that she has had at least one belt with it so not good. Final situation is that we have now met a few people who have seen her and tried to catch her so she is very wary, off in a little while to try again.

- Good luck Nick maybe take some stinky food and get ahead of her if possible

- It has been reported to me that she has been seen on the downs nr Bishopstone the downs are behind where we live so it makes sense, we have had a look for her this morning and will be returning to the area in a minute after letting as many locals know the situation
- 2016-10-01 08:59 Svend
- Two unconfirmed reports that she was seen in Throope yesterday. Please keep your eyes peeled, if you're in that area.
- 2016-10-01 08:25 Svend
- If she escaped from a "secure" paddock, and is missing her friend, I do think there's a possibility she's "on a mission" to get home.
- 2016-10-01 05:37 Unknown
- She could still be local maybe hiding?Think shes a bit depressed and with owners away it was just bad timing .are there any tracker dogs in your area?
Are there any farmers near you with a barn she could be hiding in? Maybe take an older very calm dog out to see if she will come out if she is hiding ...get some smelly tripe or sardines and put them in a plastic bag and slowly walk around the area to see if her senses get going or just outside your paddock set up a disposable bbq and fry bacon xx

- If Im honest I do not know, we bred her and her friend that was PTS on Monday, she had been with us a number of times never a problem, over weight so not a bundle of energy. Our garden is reasonably well fenced its large with a paddock, I would not expect her to even be able to get out.
Her owners live about 15 miles away, I would more expect her to jump into someones car if the door is held open rather then her going walk about - 2016-09-30 21:39 Unknown
- could she be trying to get home? Do they live far away?

- Owner and family are in Barcelona until next week we are looking after her, as I was the breeder and she had visited a fair few times we did not expect her to disappear and are still not convinced that she is lying up in a bush near bye but as it is now 24 hours and she is a Lab we would expect her to be hungry by now

- Any chance the owner could post a photo of Jazz, or a similar dog? People are reluctant to share, and print posters until a photo is posted.
