Great result
Baydogs
Ah, the BEST news. A very smart dog outsmarted. That says something about the determination and tenacity of this rescue team.
So pleased to see Charlie back safely before the fireworks start AND has found her Forever Home :)
I know how much these last two weeks have been a drain on the rescue not only emotionally and physically but also financially. However, I understand a generous supporter has agreed to match donations until November 1st up to maximum of £500.
Details here-

Update-
Sam Madasabee-
" Trap rebuilt, reset and ready to go....."

Hoping this does the biz guys.
Baydogs
Brief but positive update from Sam Madasabee this morning-
"Still feeding. Reworking the whole trap."
Baydogs
A relief to know that she is still in the area too.
No sightings would be a great deal worse.

A later update from Sam Madasabee -
"Today is day 14.... a fortnight..... and we have just been told that she will be adopted as soon as she comes home.... so fingers crossed. Everything is in place now. Her confidence in her feed station is now really good...."

So come on Charlie, you have a forever home waiting for you!

DogLostMax - Area Co-ordinator - Cornwall & Area Volunteer - Durham & Ireland
Seems she did come last night at some stage, stayed a while & then cleared off again! She is very cunning. It is at least a good sign :)
Baydogs
Max, there was still no sighting at 18.00 hours. But it is calm, fairly mild, and drying up out there. Tonight she should be really hungry and maybe this will work to the rescue team's advantage....but I know everyone will be relieved to see her. There is a lovely scrummy smelly menu awaiting her at Chez Charlie :)Last edited: 2016-10-24 22:12:29 by Baydogs

Been horrible weather. I really hope she is ok somewhere.
Baydogs
Today's update from the Rescue Team-
Sam Madasabee - "There was no sightings last night and she didn't come to the feeding station. Our experts were not surprised nor worried because of he awful weather. We (of course) are desperately worried."

And the awful weather continues....torrential rain as I write... :(
Seeks
The slower the better I think to.... Baydogs bless you for keeping us up dated xxx
Baydogs
This morning's update from the rescue team on Charlie Girl's FB page-
"I know I keep saying this but it's still slowly slowly. But a really amazing positive night. She is now really confident at her feed station so next step tonight."

And I'm also going to sound like a broken record ...
I know she looks really skinny now but please do not be tempted to feed her. She has to continue to NEED the feeding station. And please don't chase her.
Sightings are gratefully received.
Hopefully things will go as planned and she'll be returned to safety before the fireworks start in abundance. That is a big concern for this very nervous dog :(

Have had poor internet connection for the past couple of days and no mobile connection for some of that time but just been in contact with the team who are so impressive in their efforts to get this girl safely home.
Really hoping their plans tonight win them their little skinny injured Charlie back . Please continue to contact them with sightings. Please please don't feed her or chase her. And please keep everything crossed....

Come on Charlie, time to give up x

Lol I loved that last bit Baydogs xxx

Charlie just give it up girl xxxx
DogLostMax - Area Co-ordinator - Cornwall & Area Volunteer - Durham & Ireland
They are doing so well, taking it gently so not to spook her.
I am sure Charlie will be home soon :)
Baydogs
This morning's update from Sam Madasabee -
"So, if the main aim of last night's adventures at Chez Charlie.... was to catch as many foxes and cats as possible.... then we would be collecting our prizes today.... Sadly it wasn't... but one step closer to a more confident pooch..... today we will.be offering bbq'd offal and poss a sardine or two.... and chocolate cake.... for me :-) roll on tonight.... keep watching for the next exciting installment of 'watching paint dry' at Chez Charlie...."

Lol Sam. Do I detect a lack-of-sleep-lunacy creeping in here?
It's when you start catching Goblins you really have to worry :)Last edited: 2016-10-20 10:26:17 by Baydogs

Fantastic to hear. Come on Charlie be brave and go in the trap. Thanks for update Baydogs
Baydogs
Update this morning from Sam Madasabee -
"OK. She fed at her feed station again last night..... softly softly approach so as not to scare her off. She is becoming a regular there.... all positive stuff "
Seeks
I so hope tonight will be the night ...

Got everything crossed xxxx
Baydogs
Good news of sightings last night from the rescue team. In view of what has been happening the location of these sightings will not be announced but thought all those concerned about Charlie would like to know that she is okay.

To local people- please continue to send notification of any sightings with times and locations to add to her movement map. Thank you so much.
And please remember, if you see her, avert your eyes, DO NOT CHASE and DO NOT FEED. Much appreciated.

If things continue the way they are there may be more good news soon. Watch this space :)
Seeks
I so hope she will settle back into that routine Baydogs. Hopefully because she was so much on that loop she will go back on it. Lol it was slightly quieter weather here today but we get more rain than even St A lol

The moon is amazing... you really can see for a long way just now

You know where the Forelanes turn is and straight on goes Camborne? Its change so much there since I knew it but are the old workings still up that road? If thy are there is so much cover there I kinda hope she was just holed up.

Like you say my friend Com'on girl give your self up xx
Baydogs
Thanks Seeks. Sorry you got so wet as you arrived home. A cold shower before bed is not conducive to sleeping!
It is quieter here tonight with no wind, not so many showers and a super moon so maybe Charlie will follow her usual route. I do hope "Tonight is the night" as it a week tomorrow since she slipped her collar. Time she returned to her sofa, have her injuries checked out and enjoy the comfort and safety of her foster home again.
Colder weather forecast for the end of the week:(
C'mon Charlie Girl....
Seeks
We sort of called it a night at just after 3 Baydogs but will leave a open offer as I really don't mind doing lates any time.

Sadly she wasn't about BUT its a few miles from here so might not have had it ..Today we had some seriously heavy showers...I got caught about 4ish only 30 feet from the door and came in looking like I had stood under a tap so if that also went that way she may just be holed up rather than changed her routine...

When I left I went back to the A30 via Fourlnes....That lane up (man that has changed ;-) ) still has some out buildings half way up. I didn't see anything though.

Lets hope she soon settles back into her rotien xx
Baydogs
Understand that you have been in touch Seeks. Thanks for what you are doing later on my lovely x

The reward has been removed. There is no longer a reward offered.

Sightings, times and locations still greatly appreciated. These are being used to map her route and predict her next move so they are really important. Thanks to those people who are helping with this. This system was working well until last night. Hopefully things will be back on track again now and there will be success for some very tired but determined people.
Seeks
Oh Bydogs ... I spoke to them earlier and had such high hopes!! Why do people chase them???

Will ring again in the morning and just hope if we have 2 traps and wait long enough .... Poor baby must be so scared xx
Baydogs
Feeling for this rescue and for Charlie Girl...
Tonight's efforts have been scuppered by someone chasing and feeding Charlie.

I have personally met some of this team, lovely caring people who are pulling out all the stops to get this girl to safety. They have not been able to assess her injuries properly (which is a concern) they want her to remain in this area and not be frightened away or (heaven forbid) find the main Penzance to Paddington railway line. They have taken expert advice, and are following it to the best of their ability.
Notifying them of any sightings with the times and the locations would be helpful and appreciated but PLEASE PLEASE do not FEED or CHASE Charlie. She needs to be hungry to be tempted to take the food from the trap and she needs to stay in this area for them to monitor her.
Seeks
We been in touch with Sam, and will help all we can xx

Thanks for updating Baydogs, was out early this morning, so just come in to check progress.

This morning's update from Sam Madasabee (Last Chance Hotel Animal Rescue and Rehome)-
"No news. We came very close last night, which has given us all hope. But no sightings (that we know of) this morning. It's a roller coaster of emotions. We have sat here all night waiting and hoping. Will do the same again tonight ..."
Baydogs
Charlie Girl has a public Facebook page which can also be viewed by non FB members here-
https://www.facebook.com/findcharliegirl/

Couple of sightings tonight and members of the team are waiting patiently for her to approach the feeding station.
Here's hoping...Last edited: 2016-10-14 22:20:09 by Baydogs

Good thinking Max. Could I also add, once again, for people not to chase her either on foot on in their cars which is continuing to happen. The only way this scared little girl will be caught is with patience. Her past is such that he softly softly approach will be the only way to succeed here....and that is surely what we all want-success-her safe return.

Have notified local radio stations ( Radio Cornwall, Pirate fm, Heart fm) to do a traffic broadcast for cars in area to slow down.
DogLostMax - Area Co-ordinator - Cornwall & Area Volunteer - Durham & Ireland
She has been spotted this morning, so has survived a cold night. Hopefully she found somewhere warm to hide. Sadly she is not keeping away from the busy roads, so we hope she will be ok. Trap being organised today.
DogLostMax - Area Co-ordinator - Cornwall & Area Volunteer - Durham & Ireland
Charlie has been spotted limping badly, in roughly same area as last night. Rescue & helpers are still in area hoping to catch her.
A feeding station has been set up with the hope we can locate a big enough trap & get her contained asap.
DogLostMax - Area Co-ordinator - Cornwall & Area Volunteer - Durham & Ireland
Thanks you clarews, that would be great, apparently she likes other dogs :)

jenny4, thank you, we had this sighting last night, it is just up from the Countryman pub at Piece, on the road to Four lanes ( just up lane from Carnkie )

I am walking my terriers at the Flat Lode this evening so will keep a look out. I doubt she would come to me but I will take a lead just in case. Hope you find her soon

A trap has been offered by Devon co-ordinator, but a feeding station needs setting up first. We do have a trap in Cornwall, but it is smaller & old. Have passed on this info to the rescue.
DogLostGeoffA - Area Volunteer - Cornwall, Scotland & Northumberland
Thanks Pam, I note that the team from the Rescue were made aware of that sighting and several other sightings in the Carnkie area last night, and were out searching (as per Baydogs comment below).

There was a posting on Facebook (Camborne/Redruth For Sale site) stating a dog matching Charlie's description was seen Wednesday evening on the Pool to Piece road from Emily Shields, said he was looking frightened.

She hasn't been in foster long at all. She was being walked in the little village when a lorry went past & scared her so much, she pulled out of her collar & ran off.
Baydogs
Has she been with the rescue/in foster for long? If she were to be making her way back to that place, which direction would she be heading?
Is Mark Thomas able to help?
Beautiful girl.Lovely sensitive face. Hope she can be located soon.
