Check out www.herts24.co.uk. 'Found Dogs' A white Jack Russell with ginger over half her face was found mid august London/Kent area, less than 1 year old. Could this be Doughnut ??

nikkibunny, please do not approach the current owners, but observe from a distance. If any chance of a photo discretely, that would be great (mobile maybe?), so markings can be verified by Chiefs owner. House number sent by pm to owners or a phone call would be the best way to handle any suspect sightings. Do not put any info on this page that could be read by others, such as the new owners - assuming its him. Posters will be great if anyone can help. Sue x

I am almost 100% sure i have seen this puppy in yateley,the people with him live in a little close in the same road as the yateley police station.

Hello, I am the owner of chief and doughnut. Just wanted to thank everyone for all their hard work and help. You have all been amazing and have given us great support. There has been a possible sighting of the puppies in Yately, Hampshire. Is anyone local to their and could put up a few posters? Many thanks again to everyone.

Postered for Chief and Doughnut when out postering for Yiftaki CR5 this afternoon in the Dorking/Wotton area. Places postered include Broadmoor (Sheila Morgan's stables, visiting mobile farrier based in Cobham and village notice board), Wotton Hatch car park, Wolven's Country Store at Wotton, Kingfisher Farm shop at Abinger and Brelades vets at Gomshall. Also gave posters to two police officers I met who cover the Tillingbourne Valley/Surrey Hills areas. Also emailed their details to Wotton farmer, Laurence Matthews' website, www.manorfarmsurrey.com

Whilst you are out and about for these two little babies can you put the odd Yiftaki poster up please, he has disappeared and we don't know where he has gone to......... he may only have little legs but he does travel a lot!

Did get to Wotton fete myself after all this afternoon. So postered for Chief and Doughnut, also Flash and Mabel missing from RH14 and Monkey missing from GU4. Put posters by village hall where lots of people were having cream teas. Lots of interest shown. Px

Did about 300 small leaflets ( only black + white I'm afraid ) in the car park on doggy looking car !!! at the Edenbridge & Oxted Show + someone took couple to put at the dog show area. Really needed thousands but lets hope with just these few and the places others have been putting up posters and leaflets that someone can help find them.

off to put posters up In cranleigh ...Ewhurst areas and my daughter is off to farley heath to walk her boys so will put some up there ...also she is a vet nurse in the Cranleigh area so will keep a check on all thjat comes through the door and advise the other vets ....also we allways notice all other dogs in this area old and new!!! so if they are here we will see them ...have Faith xxx

Well said Sue W you are right about the law, it is not an issue here, and if the law is not bothered about dogs that get stolen why the hell would they worry about a docked or not docked tail. owner please get posters in all pubs local or not. hope they are home soon.

Please can we stick to supporting the owner and not raising points of law about a possible docked tail or not as the case maybe. It is irrelevant, save to use as identification of him when found. Lots of areas that need addressing for owner, as we know never too many posters that need putting up. Ideas for posters not already covered? We need a wide range of coverage for these two little ones. Has owner or representatives started making visits to local pubs, or not so local if possible? Amanda, I have put owner in touch with Pete at Guildford as this would be the best way forward just at the moment. Owner has lots of contacts who may know how Digby got where he was and the person. The Animal Welfare Act came into force 20 weeks ago.And if my post had been read properly,you would see that I asked if this was a photo of Chief.I queried it because the dog in the photo has a docked tail,which would be illegal if Chief is only 16 weeks old.I am assuming that the photo is of a similar dog.And I do know enough about dogs to know what a docked tail looks like even in a photo.

Re the docking comment. The law has been in force for four months so the puppy can still have been docked legally. However, you must remember that Jack Russells come in all shapes and sizes (does not technically have a breed standard registered with the KC) so tails can come in all lengths - or not at all! If you haven't already, put information on Gumtree - it's linked to Ebay and has lots of different areas sites, I think it's free?... Large pet shops like Pets At Home are always happy to display posters too - there's one at Woking which I'll try to get to over the next couple of days... If there are large roundabouts near you off a major road (A3?) these are worth postering too. I know that posters have been printed off for the A3 bootsale at Burpham on Sunday that we're doing so they'll get good coverage there....

Good that you can help Amanda (digbysowner). You, more than anyone, knows what the owners are going through and what they are up against. Suggest someone contacts local press urgently TODAY (Friday) as Bank Hol Monday next week and copy dates usually Monday/ Tuesday for Dorking & Leatherhead Advertiser and Surrey Advertiser. Maybe also contact Horsham papers. sorry, Cannot do this myself this time as in London all day today If the papers cannot help, you can always email Chief and Doughnut's story to them in the form of a letter to the editor. Speak to the news editor and I'm sure they will make room on the page.. Or, you can place an ad. I have emailed the organisers of Godstone fete - hoping they can display the poster or give permission for leaflets at the Dog Show. There is also the Edenbridge & Oxted Show at Blindley Heath this weekend. At work all day tomorrow but in the evening / over weekend can do email / fax vets in a wide area + dog clubs if no one has already done them.

Hi, have just logged on. There is a show at West End Esher on Saturday, and there is a Dog Show there I think in the afternoon. Also, there is another fete at Godstone Green Sunday and Monday with a Donkey Derby on the Monday, and another at Morden Park on Bank Holiday Monday with a Dog Show also. Hope these dear little babies are found soon, will try and do some posters tomorrow. Lee

Have spoken to owner. Lots already done in so far as spreading the word of the disappearance to various travelling communities. Posters are going to be vital and nowhere should be considered too far away. Police have been involved as other incidents in the local area possibly connected, as Jayne has mentioned. We know there are lots of 'Digby' helpers out here, so lets cover the same areas please. Sue x

Posters need to be displayed as soon as possible on notice boards, lamp posts, entrances to parks, dog bins and on cars. Take posters to vets, pet shops, postmen (for sorting offices), milkmen, dustmen, street cleaners, taxi drivers, schools, pubs, youth clubs, newsagents, post offices, takeaways, dog training clubs, supermarkets and car parks. Hand out reduced-down posters or cards to people - especially dog walkers - and deliver to houses and businesses. Police stations, Dog Wardens, the RSPCA and all rescue centres need checking frequently and preferably visited in person by owner or someone who knows Chief well. Stay safe little man, until you are found x
