- Such a sweet but worried looking girl. I do hope that the posters being put up in the UB7 area alert the owner or that a family member or friend spots it. Also a previous post by Hope#endsbsl says that SDK confirmed that the owner has been in touch with them. As I mentioned on another page, SDK would struggle to spot the difference between a Guinea pig and a hamster. Unfortunately they operate in my area. Wishing this Staffie girl good luck and obviously hoping that someone that really does know their breeds and crosses gets her released to her owner(s).

- Valpark - There is no such breed as a Pitbull - It's a common name for a type of dog that's been developed by cross breeding bull baiting dogs with terriers such as the American Bull Dog and Staffordshire Bull terrier. People can breed a red nosed Labrador with a staffie and produce a puppy that looks "type". Plenty of information on the internet about this issue.

- So sad , where are these owners to help this poor dog can only wish someone will come forward x
- 2016-10-29 15:06 NickyB
- how sad when the owners dont claim their dog......... some dogs are lucky where the organisation who kennels them have contacts with rescue groups - so a few like 1 of mine has a new life but council statistics show less than half of 100,000 dogs each year are claimed

- This is a staffy cross Ambull. Not a Pitbull. They are using the law to kill bull breeds.
- 2016-10-29 08:37 Unknown
- This idiotic Law. Grrrr...... There was a talk on the radio recently about Pit Bulls, and it was said that they were usually quite placid, and no more likely to attack than any other breed. In fact I have known labs, and retrievers who have growled at people they didn`t trust. And they are softies usually aren`t they? Hope for a good result here. Paws xd,

- Bumped in the hope that the owner comes forward and sees the help that is offered.

- Spoke to our Solicitor, Parry Welch Lacey who have emailed Status Dog Unit and asked them to advise the owner that there is a support network of us here who wd like to help them save this girl. Even if current owner is unsuitable to take her thru exemption,a transfer of ownership can be done at point of exemption therefore she still does not need to die! SDU replied to Solicitor saying they wdnt be able to pass on the message...shocking...but nothing less than I wd expect from people whose job entails removing good dogs from their homes and trying to have them euthanized...even when their behaviour is assessed and found to be fantastic...very sad, so this girls only hope is that her owner gets the correct advice or sees the local posters that have been put up in the area she was picked up. If anyone knows the owner, pls ask them to get in touch asap.
- 2016-10-24 08:08 ClaireC
- Why SDK cannot tell owner to get in touch with people they know thro' the system and who will help him/her just goes beyond me!
- 2016-10-23 22:34 Hope #endbsl
- SDK as comfirmed that owner has been in touch posters have been put up in west drayton to try and get contact with owner as to put them in touch with the right people to help currently being shared across all hillingdon buying and selling sites in the hope the owner will contact one of us for help.
- 2016-10-23 11:27 ClaireC
- Owner of Quinny confirmed its not her.
- 2016-10-23 08:57 ClaireC
- Under Data protection if owner has been found SDK will not give us owner's name. Yes if owner is not too late then he/she needs to be acting very fast. He/she can speak to DDA and telephone number can be got from their website and they will try to help.
- 2016-10-23 02:06 Meg
- Post has now been removed from the sdk site. Does anyone know of an Update if if the owner now has to go court because of crappy bsl
- 2016-10-22 21:52 ClaireC
- Gilly sent link to DDA and copied you.
- 2016-10-22 20:05 Unknown
- Owner has contacted sdk. They need to contact those that know the law and assist them.
- 2016-10-22 17:36 ClaireC
- Where is the thread on fb? This person needs to get on touch with DDA urgently.

- I have emailed Quinny's owner and also left a voicemail message.

- NickyB quite honestly you are preaching to the wrong people on doglost! I would think that the vast majority of us know about microchips, know about id tags, know about collars. What we, at doglost and the vast majority of us do is try to match up found dogs against lost dogs. If these poor dogs without chips find their owners then I am pretty confident that the law surrounding microchipping is made in the strongest possible terms when they pick up their dog from the pound abd very likely they are chipped before release. It really is no good preaching or repeating as in the end you may just succeed in stopping any potential owner from picking up their dog because of this attitude you are expressing. I have no wish to make my post as a forum for further discussion.

- Thank you GillyP I hate this racism against dogs that look a certain way guilty unless proved innocent total opposite of a human who is innocent till proved guilty.
- 2016-10-21 18:43 ClaireC
- This dog is a Staffie cross what is so wrong with these people! I think they use this as an excuse as the pounds are at bursting point and they are using the expression "breed to be determined" so they can simply put to sleep. To my mind, and there is nobody going to convince me otherwise they are an organisation that are heartless, totally totally unprofessional and simply out for cash. Shamefull.
- 2016-10-21 18:31 Unknown
- NickyB a dog that looks like that? That's where the law falls down and you seem to agree. Deed not breed!!!
http://www.deednotbreed.org.uk/
- 2016-10-21 16:28 NickyB
- as i said before a million times if you choose not to have an id tag on your dogs collar and if you choose not to microchip either then dogs looking like this in particular face the chance of being put to sleep - where are all these owners who abandon their dogs ................. i will never understand why they have a dog in the first place but unfortunately anybody can have a dog/cat/horse/baby
- 2016-10-21 16:25 allimac
- I agree that she looks very similar to Quinny (although no side view of quinny). Could it be?

- Oh no. This law reminds me of the calipers they used to determine whether someone was of jewish heritage. Come on!! That's a staffie, and a pretty worried looking one. And anyway, this law is pants. Wish I was the owner so I could go and get her? :( :( :((
- 2016-10-20 15:57 Unknown
- Patricia, patches on Tinks are different. Shame. Hollieberry, I will try and find out. May be for a number of reasons, owners might have been in touch, said they don't want the dog if they are told what the exemption process entails and the cost, secondly, might have been aggressive then would have been put down already (although legally they have to be held for 7 days). Only other way of finding out is to go to the local council where there should be a book on stray dogs advising what happened to them! I will try SDK but not holding my breath.

- 2016-10-20 11:06 Hollieberry
- GillyP do you know why this dog has been removed from SDK website is there a way to find out ?
- 2016-10-20 09:08 Unknown
- Gone from SDK website
- 2016-10-19 20:07 Unknown
- Unfortunately not. If they are deemed as "type" the owner can come forward and fight through the exemption process but if not likelihood will be pts 😠Last edited: 2016-10-19 20:08:26

- Poor dog looks a right sweetie and should not be classed as guilty just because of the way it looks.
- 2016-10-19 17:46 NickyB
- oh no here we go again - no id tag on collar no chip - will be reclaimed any minute?
i do hope so......... all dog owners should have up to date chip details and id tags on their collars - but especially when they look like this dog .......... do hope owner is out there right now looking for him
- 2016-10-19 16:55 Unknown
- Please note, that if your dog is not chipped you have 21 days from the date you claim your dog to get it chipped otherwise you could incur a £500.00 fine.
