- There should Definitely be a ban on all fireworks except November 5 and New Years. Its absolutely Horrible how people can just let them off anytime they want! My thoughts are with Shearer's family xx RIP Beautiful Boy

- So so sorry to read this tragic update. I too have a BC and they are exceptionally noise sensitive. I am sure you will have so many happy memories of the times youve spent together, these happy memories will help to lessen the pain of parting in time. RIP beautiful Shearer until you all meet again. Xx

- So sorry. (The Government wont ban fireworks becaus they get tax from their sales. It`s all about money) Nightie ,night shearer, sleep tight, and have fun with Ben (Border Collie. died young) who is waiting to play. RIP+ God Blessx A~~~Candle~~~burns for Shearer (HUG)X One day when the time is right, you will meet Shearer at the bridge never to be parted. Now He is lying in the arms of a loving Angel.
Look down on your family Shearer who really need your strength at this very tragic time. I agree with you all that fireworks should be limitedLast edited: 2016-10-24 21:35:23 - 2016-10-24 20:58 DebsAndGreg

- Totally agree with you and now this poor dog has died because of them. My cat has just come running through the cat flap due to a firework just having gone off (and still 2 weeks to go)

- Poor Shearer, my thoughts are with his family .Its an absolute nightmare this time of year :(

- Fed up with these blasted fireworks - I've signed the petition to ban them. I still can't understand why UK waste so much money on them. Every year it's the same, my poor dogs are put through hell for about 2/3 weeks AND then it's more New Year. Very unhappy. Animals die...

- Just horrible news - I'm so sorry for your loss. Whilst a ban is unlikely (I wish they would ban the damn things) - I'm working with my lot to get them used to the fireworks noise.

- Wish they would ban fireworks except for Nov 5th. My border collies were spooked by them yesterday, in broad daylight, in the park. I am so very sorry for your loss of Shearer xxx

- another needless tragedy thanks to the human idiots letting off fireworks - and for what reason? sadly fireworks are used throughout the year now - not just 5 november. this is utterly heartbreaking, it makes me so angry this lovely innocent animal died

- Just seen a posting on facebook DogLost North West Group "unfortunately we have some devastating news - Shearer has been found and was the collie found on Redcar beach". Stephen and his mum need time to come to terms with their loss. RIP dear Shearer.

- It is not a good day today - just seen this on FB
It is with deep regret and tears running down my face that I inform you Shearer the missing border collie from Whitley Bay has been found.
Unfortunately it is not good news and seems shearer entered the sea, his family have confirmed the devastating news this afternoon and are now looking to grieve and remember their beautiful boy.
Heartfelt sympathy to his family, run free over rainbow bridge sweet boy
RIP Shearer xx - 2016-10-24 07:37 Unknown
