- Apparently no one from ESSW covers Buckinghamshire. There is another springer on the SDK website that has been there since 1st November.

- So pleased to hear Flapjack is safely home. A worry about the one on the link though Mary. If I could take all the springers looking for a home I would, it breaks my heart as they have the most wonderful cheerful nature and to think they are on borrowed time is terrible. Will keep an eye on that one too

- Springermad. So pleased he is going home.
SDK have a springer that has not been claimed. 106877

- I have just received an email from Pounds for Poundies this evening which states "We have just received news from Flapjack's pound pullers, JPDUK, that he has been claimed from the pound".
- 2016-11-07 13:46 SpringerMad - Area Volunteer, East Sussex
- Fingers crossed he is ok.
- 2016-11-04 14:52 Sandra Watt
- SpringerMad - I believe he is going to a rescue today - I have emailed poundforpoundies and they will let me know either today or tomorrow and I will update here.
- 2016-11-04 14:49 SpringerMad - Area Volunteer, East Sussex
- Any confirmation that he is either back with owner or in rescue?

- Cannot find out till tomorrow if reunited with original owner or not. SDK may have put reunited as she has rescue space. Who knows until tomorrow.
- 2016-11-03 07:32 Esther
- Sounds good ! Should he be in the blue now ?
- 2016-11-02 19:08 Unknown
- Reunited with owner on SDK site.

- Great update. X

- Thank you Jenkins and Lisa. So pleased he has a space. I think I would struggle to look at all the dogs on their web site that need homes. The rescue groups deserve our support, what ever the breed or type. So many sad stories.

- No worries :) x

- Thanks Lisa I was not aware of that - good to know :)

- Hi Jenkins, on the Pounds for Poundies website they have a section 'safe poundies' & this is where Flapjacks profile is now x
- 2016-11-01 12:15 Sandra Watt
- I have now heard back from PoundsforPoundies and they have informed me that Flapjack has a confirmed rescue space with transport. He must serve his 7 days in the pound due to a legal requirement. So on 4th November he will be transported to safety. After that date I can be advised of the rescue details. Really great news for Flapjack.

- This dog is not now appearing on the PoundsforPoundies website (I assume this is because he has gone to his rescue space confirmed by Skyninchar below). I have sent them an e-mail and am waiting to hear from them so will update asap.
- 2016-10-31 22:31 Esther
- Does this mean Claire that he isn't actually as yet securely got a space in rescue ? A bit confusing for non facebook types and time is very short if there is no proper space yet.
- 2016-10-31 17:33 ClaireC
- Poundsforpoundies do not rehome as they dont assess and will only allow a rescue to take assess and then rehome
- 2016-10-31 17:05 Kit'sMum
- I'm glad this dog is safe, and hope he finds a loving forever home very soon. Somewhere along the line I hope all our protestations against him being pts have worked!! xxx Please let us know how he gets on, I think due to the high number of missing gun dogs we would have all been devastated if the worst had become the worst!! xx

- Can,t understand this , why would you put to sleep a healthy lovely dog like this , think system needs to be looked at as must happen to other dogs need a chance for owners to find them or rescue . Well done flapjack so pleased thank you from a spanial owner x x
- 2016-10-30 22:44 Esther
- I have to say SpringerMad I was looking to see just how far Leighton Buzzard is from me!!!!! But I do already have 3 springers. Good luck Flapjack so pleased you have a chance now.
- 2016-10-30 22:22 ClaireC
- Springermad its all about assessment. They dont assess whether dogs like children, cats etc.
- 2016-10-30 21:40 SpringerMad - Area Volunteer, East Sussex
- Thanks for the info Esther, I was really worried that someone would be happy to have him, but if he could not go via a rescue, he would be pts. I couldn't bear that. I would have had him! Gorgeous boy, hope he finds his forever home.

- Aaaw, Thankyou for the Update skyninchar - I never doubted He would be OK now that He has Doglost to Help 'spreadtheword' -
I am sure that there are many many other Dogs in the same situation ? :(
I learn something new everyday about Rescue/Pound/Kennelling/DDA etc etc - but still don't quite understand the system ( if there is one haha !!)
I DO Hope 'Flapjack' Finds His Owner or a Furever Home (IF He is assessed as suitable ) x
- 2016-10-30 21:34 Esther
- That is great news skyninchar, we were posting at the same time. Thank you.
- 2016-10-30 21:32 Esther
- I don't think they have to go in to a rescue first, it is just that it may be they are in a position to take a dog quickly. The people currently holding the dog may have fewer issues about allowing the dog to a rescue group where the dog can be assessed. Less come back on them if the dog goes to an unsuitable home or bites someone.
- 2016-10-30 21:31 skyninchar
- Flapjack is safe and has a rescue space if he goes unclaimed
https://www.facebook.com/218755408142029/photos/a.1554015264616030.1073743011.218755408142029/1554015304616026/?type=3&theater - 2016-10-30 21:23 SpringerMad - Area Volunteer, East Sussex
- I don't really understand how all this works. Why does he have to go to a rescue first. What happens if there is no rescue space but there are people who would take him on?
- 2016-10-30 21:09 #stoppettheft
- This is sooo heartbreaking :( I have shared to Whitchurch/Shrewsbury Lost Dogs F/Bk site
Surely a FOSTER Home could be Found for Him ?
This '7 day rule' is absurd ?
I read only the other day that an Owner had paid £ 15 to update their 'chip details but when their Dog had been lost & subsequently Found - the New Details didn't show up !!!
Lets Hope Springer Spaniel Rescue can Help this lovely Boy - even more Hope that His Owner is out there looking for Him but unaware of sites like this - 2016-10-30 20:34 Esther
- There is also Cocker and English Springer Spaniel Rescue based in Stoke on Trent.
- 2016-10-30 19:23 Sandra Watt
- I have also sent an email to english springer spanuel rescue - waiting for response. Hopefully they can help.
- 2016-10-30 19:20 ClaireC
- A rescue has been approached. Will update when confirmed if a place is free.
- 2016-10-30 18:17 ClaireC
- Shared fb.to find owner or a new home. This cannot be allowed to be PTS before its had a chance of a new home.
- 2016-10-30 17:28 Springer sharon
- Please do contact English Springer spaniel rescue. There are a number of people registered with them who have been vetted and would love to give this gorgeous dog a home. I can not believe such a gorgeous dog is in this position
- 2016-10-30 17:24 Sandra Watt
- Just checked and it is the same as found dog 106514 - I have put on a better photo. Its just awful that this lovely will be put to sleep :(
- 2016-10-30 17:17 Kit'sMum
- I think it is terrible that a beautiful dog like this could be pts. I tried to find 106514 but couldn't. I do hope that this dog is somehow made safe. Please keep us informed.
- 2016-10-30 17:03 Esther
- Please please can anyone help this dog in the South East. Admin could you put Urgent on to his headline. Are there any springer rescue groups with in range ?
