- Heartbreaking. I am so very sorry and my thoughts are with Poppy's fosterers at this very distressing time. Another gone way too soon, but run free at the bridge, beautiful little Poppy, where my four springers will be waiting to play xxx

- ESSW you are one of the very best rescues I have ever come across!!!
I am horrified at some of the judgemental things I have seen today. I truly do feel for both yourselves AND your fosterer. She looked so like my stolen baby I really did hope you would get her home safe and sound.
I so deeply sorry she didn't get home safe and thinking of you AND your fosterer Pup's Family Cornwall xxxx
Run free Poppy. You were so like my own baby you have a tear from a stranger to from this side of the Bridge xxxxx - 2016-11-05 19:56 reggiemollieros

- I am so sorry for the foster carers who had decided to give Poppy a forever home. Remember you gave her love for the time she was with you. I also feel for the rescue who took care of her and gave her a chance of a new home.

- Those that are posting do not know the full circumstances of how and why Poppy ended up at the bottom of the cliff. If a dog is inland and runs back towards the cliff in pursuit of something, as Spaniels are apt to do then accidents like this can happen. I resent the fact that people assume ESSW do not use foster carers that know what they are doing so please refrain from speaking out of term in this case. Poppy had been in foster for over a month, the foster carer was going to re home Poppy so a lifetime commitment had been made towards her future, can you imagine how devastated she is over this? This was an 18 month old Springer with a high prey drive, I'd like to know how many of you have the skill to stop a Springer in full flight in pursuit of quarry, this was a tragic accident, sadly it happens. I am so annoyed of the assumptions being made without people knowing the facts, we are all very upset by what has happened to Poppy, any dog could have ended up in these tragic circumstances, it is wrong to blame the foster carer and slate the rescue for not having trained foster carers when you can't see into the mind of the dog, a young dog in pursuit and oblivious of what's at then end of it's nose and unaware of a sheer drop in front of it.

- So sad to see this...but seriously...with a fosterer ...off a lead ...on cliffs? Yes, I know this "doesn't help" but the point needs making if it hasn't sunk into dog walkers by now. A foster dog has a weak bond with a fosterer, sometimes none, and instinct always leads them to a path of escape. Running them by cliffs off a lead is just an incredible decision. The fosterer needs them on leads AND harnesses to avoid them slipping a collar.
