- The passport was requested by registered owner in order for it to match all details on chip.As far as i can establish this was so could be taken abroad at some point but due to unforeseen circumstances he had to move house where dogs not allowed.
I have such limited details of the new owner it will be impossible to trace but current owner was extremely surprised of the whereabouts she was found. She was not sold just given to a person who said would take care of her - hence the agreement to re-home.

- Well done CJ!!! I am glad she is safe and you were able to find her registered owner xx
Good luck little one. You will get the home you truly deserve now xxxx - 2016-11-25 18:09 ClaireC
- 12. Wr are now fully aware of owner and all other details that were needed. Owner is content for this dog to be rehomed. Thank you for your concern.

- The vets and Defra would have the name and address of the person requesting the passport (although may be a UK address which wouldn't help if owner was in Netherlands). Has anyone contacted them to see whether they would be willing to try to contact the owner. It seems odd to go to the expense of getting a passport only to lose the dog a few days after travelling

- Have chip number this morning- and not on our data base but have spoken to registered owner and she was not stolen. Unable to keep her after he had to move he rehomed her. The dog was treated at vets for a petpassport on 24th october 2016 and for worming tablets on 17th november. Therefore can not have been in Holland that long- He has no idea how has ended up in Holland lost- but is agreeable to a new home to be found- and if in Holland no problem as long as a home that will take care of her. She is just one year old.

- All we are asking for is full chip number. Its safe to send and i am listed on police data base as a partner so fully understand confidentiality.
We will check our data base and also i can ask some police forces to check if has been recorded as well- also I can maybe trace via a back track to where implanted. - 2016-11-24 09:16 ClaireC
- Beardogsww, yes we are aware of microchip and Petlog.
- 2016-11-23 22:26 Beardogsww
- Doesn't the number need to be checked with Petlog to find the owner? The dog may not have been registered with Doglost so might not show on your database?Last edited: 2016-11-23 22:26:43 by Beardogsww

- Sorry, I was just reporting what was said on the thread, not saying that they had checked :( Hope you get the chip number from them soon.

Several of us have asked about the chip number being sent and the lady that has her said that it had already been checked against the Doglost database and that there was no match."
Not sure how they can say this as this can only be done by admin with full chip number and we have not been given this. General public cannot check our database. - 2016-11-23 09:15 Jayne - Founder Doglost.
- Cat no one knows how to contact you on site..please email last 4 digits to doglost and we can check on our database....ideally the whole number would be easier for us to check...

- If doglost can be given the full chip number as requested we can check on database. I also have access on computer via Kent police and can try to get it back tracked to source who may hold paper copies. From that maybe able to trace owners using various means. The chip number is safe with doglost and will not be seen by public.I can also send to police contacts who may have that number recorded as well. Chip number can be emailed to dogloststolen@gmail.com- TO admin@doglost.co.uk who will send to me - or to coordinator Claire who has been in contact already.

- If anyone thinks this may be their dog, please can they let me have details of their microchip number (the last 4 digits will be fine) for comparison.

- seems unlikely that the chip has been checked against the doglost db as doglost are asking for it....on here and the original post. Good idea to check chip numbers either side...however it could just be the implanter wrote the wrong sex on the form (this happened with my cat).

- Several of us have asked about the chip number being sent and the lady that has her said that it had already been checked against the Doglost database and that there was no match. Evidently the chip she has says she's a male, so looks like an error made by the implanter. Not sure if it possible, but would be good to check her number plus or minus a few against the lost lurchers and salukis, as seems likely she has her brothers chip and vice versa. Owners would be unaware that her actual chip doesn't match the number they were told.

- Jayne - I have sent a request on the facebook page to the person who has the dog and will let me know if I get a response. Someone had previously asked for this to be done. I will post the facebook link when I return home this evening.Last edited: 2016-11-23 08:04:24 by ClaireC
