- So sorry to read about Meg - doing what Patterdale's do though, being feisty and determined and above all brave and loyal. Thankfully Mole is home with her family and lives on as a legacy to her mum.
There is of course a smidgen of a chance she has not crossed, so I am reluctant to add a Rainbow Bridge message here. My thoughts are with her family. - 2016-12-30 07:38 Jan -North West and Police Liaison Coordinator

- Lovely post from Meg & Moles owner..... Our Meg has been missing for 5 weeks now. I think judging from the state of Mole and how she was scarred, when she came home after a week, that it was most likely they came across a badger. I think if Meg could have got herself home, she would have by now and we were very lucky to have even got one of our girls back. Knowing Meg, I think it's most likely she sacrificed herself to save her daughter.
We miss her and have been so sad without her, but we were so very fortunate to have had such a special little dog embroidered in our lives these past six years.
Andy, Tom and I would very much like to pass on our heartfelt thanks to every single one of you who have shared our posts, sent words of support, encouragement and advice. The positive that has come out of our sad situation is how supportive the farming, rural and local communities have been. We simply can't thank you all enough.
Please could I ask one more thing, that any posters you see around, you would kindly take them down now and please circulate this update so everyone is aware how thankful we. Are for having Mole home and for everyone's kindness.
Than you so much again. Xx Steph, Andy and Tom xx - 2016-12-30 07:36 AlisonH

- Update from owner on facebook "One of our dogs has come back home. It's Mole, the daughter. She was found in the fields In front of Broadwood drinking out of a trough (that's between Rookcroft and Dale for local folk). She's obviously been down a hole. Mole is somewhat thinner, has a few new scars and tired out, but apart from that all good.
We've been out scanning the area shouting and whistling for Meg, no luck as yet. We'll do the same at first light.
I will try and update as many sites with this info as possible as such a tremendous amount of people have been praying that we have good news and I'd like to let them know. If you could help me by sharing to get the good word around about Mole.
Everything crossed that I can give more good news and we get Meg home safe and sound soon. - 2016-12-01 20:40 Coco
