From FB "Suzanne Harris He was found in slough not far from home. He had been taken in a few days ago. The posters she put out yesterday did the trick and she was contacted. Reunited then brought straight to the vet.
Jen slept till 11am this morning not surprising she hasnt slept for a week shes still trying to wind down and be with her baby and promises she will respond to everyone going to be busy with four hourly rescue formula feeding. Many thanks to all who posted and continued to search for COCO"

HURRAH HURRAH! Well done for getting him back - I am so pleased. It is the first time I have seen a parrot on here reunited (though some of the others may have been but we didn't get told about it).

Our family African Grey flew off and stayed in close proximity to our home when we were kids. He was found on a neighbours roof and my dad called out to him and he flew back to my dad. They tend to bond to one person so whoever that is needs to try and engage his attention. Put his cage out with some food in it and hope the owner gets lucky. Last edited: 2016-12-03 21:03:42 by Bo

Years ago, a lady we knew in Marlow lost her macaw and he ended up on the roof of the brewery. The fire brigade got him down. Could she ask the local RSPCA if they can help at all (or the fire brigade). Might have to wait until he is too tired to keep flying off. Fingers very much crossed. Presumably she has lots of tasty food to offer in his sight. Does he have any favourite music she can play to him to calm him down, etc?

This is the latest update on Jennifer's page, posted by her sister.
"I'm posting this on behalf of my sister Jennifer Harris. She is currently sitting under a tree still trying to coax Coco down. He flew over her twice today and quite a distance. She would like to thank everyone for their messages and support. She hasn't a chance to answer or post the latest..
Coco is still out there anyone near Copthorne Hotel in Cippenham keep an eye out... Chalvey Grove too there was a sighting too.. Anyone good at catching parrots please help. He got attacked by crows today but thankfully got away... Would anyone have a long handled net?
Please share folks!"
She will have been sifting under that tree since 4.00 pm yesterday..Does anyone have a long

Is Coco's cage outside in the garden with food & water inside it is important to do this they can recognise their cage. Unfortunatley most birds that escape die from dehydration not hunger which is a worry as he will not know where to look for water .
nicolapicola
Thanks for keeping us updated. I am v worried about poor Coco as this is the worst weather for him to be out. I am relieved she has seen him.
coralvb
Thank you for all the advice. The last post from owner (about 4 hrs ago) was that she had spotted him. Nothing since so my guess is she is still out trying to coax him down. Will post update when I have one.

I hope the owner or her friend who posted this bird missing is reading the comments. As stated before it is HUGELY important to publicise this locally non-stop - see if the local paper will give Coco a mention also. Equally important be out and about looking and calling and listening during all times birds are active - dawn, morning and probably, at this time of year, mid-afternoon. EVERY DAY. Get schoolchildren to look out too - ask school if they can tell the children. We lost a parrot this way years ago and didn't know what to do - we certainly did not publicise it enough and never saw him again and I still feel terrible about it now, several parrots and about 41 years later (and one commenting behind me as I type this). In retrospect and knowing what I do now about looking for lost pets, I think we could have done a lot more at the time.

I have shared with DL FB Page, Twitter & Public. I hope Coco is safely back at home soon. X

I don't think Coco will have got very far as he will not be used to flying and will not know the area he is lost in .Look in the nearest trees and bushes it is important that you listen for him when you call his name .Is Coco hand reared & hand tame he may fly to a person for comfort .

I read somewhere that a recording of a similar bird can help. Perhaps someone in the area can help It also said that some parrot owners actually keep a recording of a parrot: just in case. Hope Coco is home soon. Claws xd.
nicolapicola
Poster everywhere, tell everyone, tell all pet shops. Ask neighbours to listen out for birds squabbling. Go out AT DAWN every single day and call him and listen. If you have a garden, leave his cage out there, open, for him to see if he is near.
