Aww, that is great news
Welcome home Bowser. X
allimac
Thanks @&* for that! Can't believe this lovely dog had to be in prison for months! And what a stressful time for Grand85.
Enjoy your reunion, and well done! Welcome home lovely Bowser. x
Hollieberry
So pleased to read this I hope Bowsers settles in quickly after his long stay in prison :)
Grand85
Back home
Hollieberry
I wish they would let Bowser home he has been in kennels far too long now. Why is it taking so long ?
BorderCol
Crikey! What a confusion. Thankyou Grand85 for the explanation and wishing you speedy recovery of your dog.
Hope the other one finds home too.
Grand85
Just to clear this up the dog under - 111170 isn't the bowser from Tooting Bec. It certainly isn't the dog in the photo above. My dog is currently in kennels to the best of my knowledge. I had text someone yesterday saying bowser had been found... but that was in relation to the dog above and not 111170.
Unknown
Sydneysmum not sure where your info came from on the found page I quote "Just received a text from Bowsers owner. He has confirmed that this IS Bowser!! Is arranging to pick him up asap"Last edited: 2017-02-10 14:20:19
Grand85
That's not bowser ... thanks
nicolapicola
Grand85 - please look at the "Dogs Found" List of this website - Dog no: 111170 on there (says Owner needs Locating) - lots of people think it is Bowser - can you check picture and see what you think? It is a dog that was picked up in Dunstable and looks very like Bowser. Needs checking out by you as, if it may be Bowser, you need to contact the finders to sort it out.Last edited: 2017-02-10 13:31:16 by nicolapicola
Grand85
Sorry you've lost me, he was picked at the bottom of my street in November, are we talking about my dog bowser? Unless he has escaped from police kennels, I'm not sure what your talking about.
Unknown
Clearly stated where he was found. Chiltern Road Dunstable.
Grand85
He didn't - he just popped up in a groupfron that way.
Unknown
How did he get to Bedfordshire
Grand85
Awaiting for him to be added to the defra index, once that's done then, he'll be released to me. I then have to ensure that he's chipped, neutered and tattooed. But I can't get that done until he's in my care. Will update once he's back.
Unknown
Grand85 if you got through court ok you would have been ordered to castrate chip and tattoo him. How did he get to Bedfordshire? And when did he get out of the garden.
BorderCol
Owner said he had been deemed of type. Wasn't there any requirement to get him microchipped, castrated or keep him secure following the court case on 23rd January? 111170 is entire and not chipped.Last edited: 2017-02-09 20:28:37 by BorderCol
ClaireC
How on earth has he ended up in MK area? That is a fair distance from Tooting Bec my old home town!
Grand85
I'll
Let you know once he's back at home, he got out through the garden fence!
Skywalker99
How did bowser escape again? He was in the police pound before Xmas.
Sydneysmum
Bowser has been found - Owner is aware & arranging to collect him.
Dog ID 111170
Grand85
Thanks
Skywalker99
Good luck
DogLostreggiemollieros
I just saw the reschedule on Facebook.
Everything crossed for you. Hope you get your boy back soon.
Must be an emotional time being so long without him.
All the best to you both.

Grand85
Good morning all, the DLO said after the Christmas break he'd get on the case... that he's first on the list...

Grand85
Thank you all for the support - I'll be putting up a facebook group and i'll share the link once it's up and running!
DogLostreggiemollieros
Well am glad you will get Bowser back but that's sad he wont be home with you sooner.
Thank you for the update Grand.

Grand85
Hi all been crazy busy,

So basically, he was diagnosed as type, they've done their checks on me and the DLO seems happy enough to go down the 4b route. He asked me how he got out and said that so long as I get things secure so that he doesn't get out again, there shouldn't be an issue with me getting bowser back. It will be in the new year mind you as, the DLO is away for Christmas. So really I've just been working on that... put up a new fence today, and will finish securing his compound area, albeit a bit smaller than before for the interim, but it should be sufficient. Not heard from the DLO this week, but i'll call on Monday and ask for a call back to find out how Bowsers doing. Silly mutt!
DogLostreggiemollieros
Grand hope you are ok. Am checking in every day hoping you get some good news soon.
DogLostreggiemollieros
29th August to 12th October for Beats.
There was that delay of a week or so trying tp locate him.
Each case is different but I was hoping given it's coming to Christmas they might speed up the process with Bowser.
Skywalker99
Yes, Beats case seemed to move a lot quicker. Not returning calls is just plain rude.
DogLostreggiemollieros
That is awful. Why drag it out? They know the procedure.

Skywalker99
I hope he gets home soon. Not returning calls is not good enough....hope you are getting support from DDA watch. At least he is safe.
Coco
So many people getting away with animal abuse in our ridiculous court system ,yet law abiding people and their 4 legged family members who have done no wrong are treated so terribly. ... Keep him in the forefront of peoples minds ....and he should be home soon. Re- shared, with comments xx
Grand85
So the status dogs unit has him and they've not really been great with communication. I last spoke to the DLO last Wednesday, will leave messages on his machine tomorrow at midday to find out what's going on. It's pretty shit tbh as when I call it goes to answer machine and then they don't respond to emails. Hoping to move the ball along I sent the officer my personal details, a DBS certificate from last year, proof of my employment for the last 5 years various licenses for stuff I do within the community in order to show as he put it, I'm not a drug dealer who hasn't worked for the last 20 years.....
Coco
Any news Grand85 ? Waiting is the worst part ! x
Hollieberry
Grand85 is there any news on your boy ? I hope they are treating him well .
Grand85
yeah its pretty ridiculous for such an old boy to have him go through this drama....
Hollieberry
This is so unfair you need as much help as you can get ,I hope this goes viral and gets into the papers & local news somehow.
DogLostreggiemollieros
So sorry Grand. How stressful and upsetting. Seems so unfair and random. You have had him 10 yrs and no bother and now this.

Skywalker99
Hope you are talking to DDA watch
Grand85
So I got a call from the DLO and he's assessed bowser as a type, as a result he will be instigating proceeding on Monday. He wasn't able to provide me any details, other than he's made a note to look into me on Monday.
Hollieberry
Any news Grand85 ?
DogLostreggiemollieros
So frustrating for you, .as Skywalker says, DDA Watch will know if you can do that. Personally I was not aware of it but would be good if you could.
Hopefully you'll get some response tomorrow.
Grand85
No replies to emails this morning and they told me they only work 6am - 2pm....
Skywalker99
You need to contact DDA watch on the numbers given below, they will advise you on the process for this. Beats (who was also picked up by police near Tootng bec earlier this year) went through this process, and Haze will be going through it. Have they not assessed him yet een though they said they would?
Grand85
Bowser hasn't been deemed yet, however I've been reading up just in case he is, and there's Legislation that enables you to get your dog back whilst proceedings occur in part 4 of statutory instruments -2015 no.138 entitled the interim exemption scheme, providing he's not a danger to the public. Do you guys have any guidelines on starting this process or know if people go down this route at all?
DogLostreggiemollieros
Yes I would feel the same. I just hope it all moves quickly.
Grand85
Thanks appreciate it. I've emailed status dogs for an update on him this morning, but yet to have received a reply. He's never away from home so I'm a little concerned about how he's fairing in this very unfamiliar environment and around unfamiliar people....
DogLostreggiemollieros
Hi Grand, hope you are OK and Bowser.
Thinking of you both.
Grand85
Thanks Skywalker I've commented. Once think to add is that the person who I spoke to at status dog has emailed me and said bowser is doing fine, he had some scratches on his face that they've treated, he's had a bath, can't imagine that... and he will be checked by the Vet tomorrow.
Skywalker99
In the London area this is the second dog in this predicament within a week - see Haze
DogLostreggiemollieros
I was asking if possible that Doglost could add in the statusdog unit email in their info that they email out when a lost dog is added. I guess as it does not apply to all dogs they may have felt it unneccesary so maybe we volunteers need to keep an eye in the London dogs and make owner's aware especially if no sightings an Battersea do not have said dog. Last edited: 2016-11-30 13:36:17 by reggiemollieros
Skywalker99
Was thinking the same thing Reggiemollieros
Grand85
Thanks for all of the advice guys. As I said I'll keep you all in the Loop!
DogLostreggiemollieros
Thank you for the update. At least you know where Bowser is.
I do hope they decide he is not type however if they do you are forewarned and will get excellent help from DDA watch ,who are amazing.
Grand85
So status dogs have called me and they said he was brought in after found playing with some dogs down by the local park where I walk him. They will asses him tomorrow, so I'll get a call either then or Friday from the case officer. They said he's okay and he's currently in kennels and hasn't given any one any cause for concern, but as I said he needs to be assessed.
DogLostreggiemollieros
Skywalker, this seems very similar to Beats, same area and Wandsworth Police.
Grand, glad you have some help from your friend in the Met.
Thank you for the updates.

Skywalker99
Hmm, in the photo in the commentson Waltham 4 dogs the dog is standing next to van with crates in it that clearly says Wandsworth on the side.
Grand85
Yes she's assisting, However there seems to be a miss match of information with regards to who picked up bowser. My friend who is a Met officer has provided me with the proctoscopic I need to take to establish if he was picked up and taken to holding under the breed type. I shall keep you all updated, thanks for all the help.
DogLostreggiemollieros
Let us know what they reply to you.
When we were looking for another dog the initial response was no but later they located him. Maybe the finder could also make enquiries?
I hope you get some good news soon.

Grand85
Thanks guys, I shan't sign anything. I've been in contact with Wandsworth, they haven't got him logged. A warden there will check to see if he's being held some place by the met. I've emailed the statusdogs email address and left a message on their answer phone, numerous calls to 101 yesterday weren't able to put me in touch with anyone. When it gets to 9, I'll call battersea to find out if he's there.

If you can get time and exact location from the finder it will be easier to locate Bowser. Also finder may know if it was Wandsworth dog warden who collected rather than the police. Bowser may well be at Battersea.

Grand85, if you need help with anything email admin@doglost.co.uk with the ID number on the top of this page. You need to email statusdogs@met.pnn.police.uk with photos and date, times etc in case your dog has been picked up and taken to be assessed for type.

If they do have Bowser you need to NOT SIGN anything and contact DDA Watch by telephone not email.
You can also have a free telephone consultation with Wheldon Law, dog law specialists. I have posted info above. Last edited: 2016-11-30 02:55:48 by reggiemollieros
Skywalker99
The photo of him found shows him standing next to a Wandsworth van...so maybe start with the Wandsworth dog warden?
Grand85
No luck so far on establishing where he is ... but I'll try in the morning. Thanks for all your help. The lady who posted on facebook and her friend who found the dog are going to assist as he was so lovely she thought she was getting him reunited with me and is a little distraught at the fact that this might not happen....
Skywalker99
There is a picture of the found dog in the comments on Waltham 4 dogs, it does look like bowser (:
Skywalker99
There is a Doglost helper called Gillyp who has had experience of this sort of thing
Skywalker99
It says found dog is being assessed as type- that is not good news. You need to establish if it is Bowser, try ringing 101 and ask to be put through to the status dog unit, and ring the dogwarden again. If it is Bowser do not sign anything, contact deed not breed or DDA watch. Ring Doglost and ask for help. Here is the link to the page with the post by kristina on, the dog was found near Tooting Bec https://www.facebook.com/groups/walthamforest4dogs/Last edited: 2016-11-29 19:59:47 by Skywalker99

I have shared on twitter. Hopefully someone has taken him to Battersea or called the dog warden to collect. Might be worth contacting all 3 dog wardens as you cross over into other boroughs down that way - Lambeth, Wandsworth & Croydon.
