- So very, very sad that this innocent soul suffered and lost her life thanks to sub-humans who don`t even deserve to take their breath from the same world as she did. I really do hope that there is an afterlife that takes payment for every evil act and thought on this earth, I do despair and feel sick to my stomach at the thought there are scum like this who are ever spawned to live amongst the good and kind humans, of which there are many. Rest your beautiful soul little Crumble {{xxx}} Last edited: 2017-01-05 20:10:07 by LindaT

- So, so sad and unfortunate that she was in the clutches of evil, abusers that ended her short little life.
Whoever said Britain was a country of animal lovers was so deluded and blind the the heinous acts of cruelty done to animals without a voice. Crumble is free from pain but it was humans that caused her demise. Bless you little Crumble. There are some beautiful people out there...xxx - 2016-12-30 02:28 Marbie

- Pure evil 😠. If you don't want a dog, why oh why don't you just hand it over to a dogs home or RSPCA. So many people would have loved this little hound. I do hope she can find the right home where she can still enjoy her life. Even better would be if she could recover. Good luck little girl xxx Ps does she have a name? Xxx

- This little dog is disabled not old or ill.
She could probable be fine with the very special owner and a cart,
I was in our local woods some years ago and saw a Border collie running and I mean running.
Some one had mounted the path in Southend on Sea but never stopped,
Her back end was paralysed
This dog had brilliant owners and a brilliant cart.
I hope maybe they will release this dog to someone capable to look after her
Maybe the Pug Dog Welfare & Rescue Association
So just remember RSPCA this little pug is only disabled - 2016-12-15 15:03 Unknown
- Arnold. Thanks for the update. Patlucky. They are worse than scum. They are the dregs of society. I thouhgt too about a trolley for the dog. Shame they cant cure this poor pug, and put the perpetrator to sleep. Keep us posted
- 2016-12-15 12:47 ClaireC
- Pug mum,i guess the answer would have to be sought direct from rspca as i would doubt that they would let doglost know. They didnt actually post this dog on here as it was done by one of the followers of doglost.
- 2016-12-15 12:16 Jasper - Area Volunteer, Somerset
- It is very sad but it sounds like, having been checked out by numerous vets, this little dog is unlikely to have a very good quality of life. The RSPCA have her under their care and will do their best for her even if the eventual outcome is not what we all hoped for.
- 2016-12-15 11:26 pug mum
- The Pug Dog Welfare & Rescue Association have been watching this thread, but we have kept out of it so far, because we know from past experience that the RSPCA is highly unlikely to release this pug into our care. We can only say a big thank you to Arnold for the update and the care he offered to this poor little pug. PDWRA is lucky to have some amazing foster carers who will take on disabled pugs, but I think this is now unlikely to happen. We would like to know what the RSPCA's future plans are for Crumble.
- 2016-12-15 08:34 Patlucky
- Bless you Arnold for the update and the care you offered,
I guess we don't know what will happen to her.
Maybe a caring home and a trolley now that she is disabled ,
Words fail me that scum of the earth can be so cruel
Hope they just might catch them

- Hi All
We were able to have the little pug transferred to Hendon this morning, and undertook a detailed investigation including an MRI and CT scan. My partner at Hendon advised that this poor little dog has very severe, untreatable spinal damage an there is nothing we can do to fix this.
The RSPCA collected her later in the day and took her back into their care
I am sorry that the news is not good, but at least we know that everything possible has been done to help her. I wish we could have done more, but it was not to be
Regards
Arnold Levy

- Hi, I sent an email to the rspca head office about this little dog and have had a reply . Not much but they said to thank medivet for there kind offer but have specialist vets on board , any updates on crumble will be put on the rspca main website and thank you for your concern .sounds like they are treating her that's all I ask . Thank you so much to medivet for there kind offer i am very grateful and dog lost for behind the scenes work . Let's hope we get an update will keep looking . Take care x x x
- 2016-12-14 19:31 Jane
- What is disconcerting is the secrecy surrounding the events of this poor little dog. There are caring people who were and still are very concerned about the whereabouts the casualty was taken. The RSPCA do themselves no favours with the general public. If, indeed the little soul was PTS after extensive examinations and the public were told the 'truth', I say the TRUTH then that would be excepted that all was done that could have been. Medivets on the other hand have been exemplary with Paddy - OMG there are no words, they were the best ever - they displayed compassion, care and the best treatment for dear Paddy and so much openness with his treatment, even when things were not too good and he had to endure more surgery - a complete contrast to the RSPCA. Medivets 5***** 10/10
- 2016-12-14 17:08 nicolapicola
- Jane: I think you are probably right and that they've put this dog to sleep and don't want it publicised. If they were still treating it, I would have thought there would have been an update in the press.
- 2016-12-14 17:06 Patlucky
- What Medivet kindly done for Paddy who was found on the side of the road also paralysed
He had a long journey but Medivets never gave up on him
Now he is rehomed
Please watch the video Well done all at Medivets

- Campion3 - well said perfectly. There is so much a animal charity can do to bring public awareness in most aspects of animal care etc - Dog theft, as you say is completely out of control. Education is key.
One thing I must say is that we must NEVER lose the RSPCA as there is no other charity to take their place... - 2016-12-12 21:26 Campion3
- There are many caring and hard-working people working for the RSPCA. Sadly the RSPCA as an organisation has lost its way and some people, me included, no longer fully trust the RSPCA or feel confident that they will always act in the best interests of the animals needing their help. Such a shame as they are in a perfect position to raise awareness about dog theft which appears to be out of control, the benefits of neutering and chipping etc etc.
- 2016-12-12 21:16 Jane
- Maybe the RSPCA has already pts this little dog which is why they are being so secretive...who knows
- 2016-12-12 20:55 Hollieberry
- I am not so sure whether to trust the RSPCA anymore ,I recently read about a very sick dumped GSD that was Pts straight away & yet they were asking people to donate for it. Is this the way they fund raise now by showing some poor animal in distress asking people to donate to its care .
- 2016-12-12 14:35 nicolapicola
- If that is indeed so, maybe someone could contact The Metro and any other newspapers that ran the story to tell them about the offer of help and not being able to find out where this dog is (or even if it is still alive). That might, however, thoroughly alienate the RSPCA, so it is a tough judgement call.
- 2016-12-12 13:49 Patlucky
- We are not going to get anywhere with the RSPCA
They have tape over their mouths and all doors are shut
I so hope someone can get through to them - 2016-12-12 13:10 Unknown
- I have now written to the inspector direct in case she didn't get the forwarded emails yesterday.

Totally understand.
Looking forward to an update soon!
Bert23 - 2016-12-11 21:23 Unknown
- Bert23, whilst I appreciate your concern for this case, we have put Medivet and the RSPCA in contact. But in any case, it is not DogLost policy to promote fundraising activities on the website or on any of our social media outlets that have not been directly commissioned by ourselves.
- 2016-12-11 21:22 Patlucky
- Bert as nice as it is to start a fund the RSPCA are not saying anything
It is a closed door and none of us will find out
Please wait until we find out more hopefully - 2016-12-11 20:39 Unknown
- The RSPCA have to keep silent on cases like this, in case it leads to a prosecution (Subjudacy) My husband worked as am E.H.O, and had some involvement with the RSPCA. He too had to keep silent. And he has never told me any of the cases
This is awful. How a person can do this defeats me. I wonder if the car registration was picked up on cctv maybe? I feel like throwing this low life out of a moving car, In any event this scumbag should be namnd, and shamed. I hope this little dog will be okay. And will be willing to donate to his treatment, if he will make it. Keep us posted. Paws xd.Last edited: 2016-12-11 20:42:59 - 2016-12-11 20:35 Bert23

- The little dog needs treatment asap - the longer she is paralysed the worse the prognosis will be as her nerves will start to die...
- 2016-12-11 11:23 Unknown
- Have now spoken to Medivet and duty PR at RSPCA. I have emailed Medivet's offer and contact information which will be forwarded to both Chelmsford & the inspector.
- 2016-12-11 10:18 Sandra Watt
- Could dog lost pr go back to the echo with an update about medivet and maybe info will come forward where this poor dog is

- Medivet are still trying to find out where the little pug is . The rspca need to tell them can,t understand why taking so long as they would be treating her now . They can offer her the best care just need to know where she is . . . . . .
- 2016-12-11 08:50 Patlucky
- A worrying thought
Would the RSPCA have put her to sleep due to her injuries ?
I do hope not - 2016-12-10 23:00 Unknown
- I will see if I can contact the duty PR tomorrow and ask them to contact the appropriate inspector. Working with the RSPCA is always difficult.
- 2016-12-10 21:48 Juls
- Can,t understand why don,t all work together much easier , hope all sorts out and little pug gets all the help she deserves . So glad so many of us are looking out for her x x x

- Arnold has been posting here Jules
I have phoned the RSPCA Chelmsford they wont say if they have the dog or not
The RSPCA is a closed door and always have been.
Baydogs not sure who I spoke to but he put me on hold
I still got the same answer - 2016-12-10 21:26 Juls
- I have sent an email to Arnold levy at medivet what I can find out so maybe they will do contact with rspca and vets at writtle chelmsford.
- 2016-12-10 21:04 ClaireC
- From a purely personal thought,I suspect that as the dog is under the care of the RSPCA and ive no doubt their vets, there is also an investigation under way then no information will be given out to any of you. It may be possible that the specialist vets that are offering to help may fare better if they were to fone. As I said before, this little one is now under the responsibility of them!
- 2016-12-10 20:57 Juls
- I have been on internet to have a look , rspca main website shows crumble little pug story same number as below , 0300 123 8018 , did look at vets in writtle village which is near Chelmsford Essex where it happened , was taken to local vets but but naming vet on page . The vets are all closed there is about 5 or 6 on list so it will be of those . Happy to ring Monday when they are open x x x
- 2016-12-10 20:56 Baydogs
- I think that part of the problem here may be that when anyone rings the RSPCA call cantres they are manned by people who have nothing to do with the RSPCA (so I have been told on good authority in my own area) therefore the person who answered Pat would not have the information needed or the authority to disclose it even if they did. Or did you manage to speak to an RSPCA officer Pat?
This generous offer from Medivet is a golden opportunity for this unfortunate little dog. I sincerely hope that further investigations can proceed as quickly as possible. Thank you so much Arnold Levy and Team. And thanks to the ladies who started this off too ;) - 2016-12-10 20:55 Jane
- This is all very confusing to say the least! In my opinion, it's not over till it's over and the poor dog must be given every chance of survival. Juls, I can understand where you are coming from. The dog needs to be taken to a very experienced orthopaedic vet that knows what they are doing....as in Noel Fitzpatrick, possibly...
- 2016-12-10 20:52 Nina
- If this lack of communication and co-operation is typical of the RSPCA
they win no support from me in the future. I thought they would have been only too pleased to have advice and experience from another source.Last edited: 2016-12-10 20:53:40 by Nina - 2016-12-10 20:30 Juls
- Where is this dog bless her , help is waiting and seems to be confusion to where she is taken too . Please please time is important to help her . Happy to ring any numbers or email if have information x x
- 2016-12-10 19:20 Hollieberry
- After reading about this in the Echo newspaper I am under the opinion that the RSPCA gave her little or no chance of survival. Maybe some one could ask the newspaper if they can get an update from the RSPCA.
- 2016-12-10 18:50 Patlucky
- She was taken to a local vet IE Writtle /Chelmsford
“She found the little dog collapsed at the roadside and rushed her to a nearby vet before the pug was moved to a specialist surgery. - 2016-12-10 18:22 Arnold
- Many thanks
Unfortunately the person who called us does not have the dog, so we are trying to track down the dog and ask whoever has it to transfer it to us. Working on it!! - 2016-12-10 18:12 Patlucky
- Brilliant Arnold
We cannot ask more of you - 2016-12-10 18:04 Arnold
- Hi All
I have had a chat with one of our vets at Hendon. Someone who has the dog has called Hendon to ask if they can bring the dog in. Hendon can start an investigation today, so the vet is going to call the person who has the dog and ask if she can be brought to Hendon. We won't know how much we can help until we've done the investigation , and we'll probably start with a CT scan and go from there. Let's keep our fingers crossed - these cases are never certain - we will do our best.
Regards

- The RSPCA has always been a closed door
All they will keep saying is we cant say if we have the dog or not
Also if we have the dog we have vets we can take it too
I remember now why I stopped giving money to them all those years ago
So looks like there will be NO updates
Unlike with Arnold and Medivets a few months ago
- 2016-12-10 17:53 Nina
- Surely common sense has to prevail in this case. There is a respected and experienced vet who is willing to be involved.
- 2016-12-10 17:47 Patlucky
- Just got through to the RSPCA Chelmsford
They are as much help as a brick wall
They cant confirm whether they have the dog or not
I pointed out that the newspaper say they have
I was polite I might add
They would not even take my phone number.
He just said they had vets should the dog need one
Arnold I remember every up date you gave on the dog in Essex you treated
Shame on the RSPCA don't think there will be any updates on this little pug

- Hi
My name is Arnold Levy and I am the CEO of Medivet. I am also a vet. We recently helped a dog in a similar situation. Our team at Medivet Hendon were able to get a young paralysed dog walking again after about 10 weeks in hospital and 2 spinal operations, and he is now safely at home with a new family. We would like to see if we can help this little pug, so please could the person who has this lovely little girl contact me ASAP on enquiries@medivet.co.uk or 01923 470000. Many thanks - 2016-12-09 21:18 Juls

Thank you to the kind woman who took her to the vet.
I'd like to think she makes a good recovery and has a happy future but it doesn't sound good at the moment.
I suppose it is possible that she might have been stolen initially so another good reason to have her listed here Pat in case someone recognises her. - 2016-12-08 20:50 Monnie
- Could it be princess ID 16327, went missing as a pup so markings may have altered over time.

- Unbelievable story. I wonder if the Super Vet in Surrey featured on TV would get involved??
