- Latest update. Shame for original owner.
Claire
We just passed Eurotunnel on Saturday and as always they are not very helpful there, unfortunately.
The truth, we could not get an answer what happened to the little dog.
Once again we left our contact details with the request to update us about the whereabouts this dog.
So far we just can assume that the little feller is still in the care of the elderly French foster lady who is the grandmother of the girl being on duty in the pet section centre at this morning.
Regards,
Sarah - 2017-01-23 11:20 ClaireC

- Latest comment from Animal Express on their Fbk page:
"We are sorry when we have not answered your comment yet. But here are so many comments ;-).
So far we have no news and awaiting an update from Eurotunnel and French police.
It is very touching to see how many people would love to give this little Yorkie a new home. But please understand, the re-homing procedure is not in our hands.
If re-homing becomes an option then we will publish the French contact address here.
She enjoys the hospitality of an elderly French lady" - 2016-12-13 20:50 ClaireC
- NickyB that is not the thought that the dog was abandoned by the owner but more by the pet transporter who should have been bringing the dog over to England. It is also a further possibility that the dog has come through the Russian route for the owner. If this is the case, Russian transporters have different type of pet passports to our English requirements. Again this is possible as the owner and company were unaware of our legislation! I think there is a very concerned owner over here in England not knowing what has happened to their very well cared for pet. The dog is safe and being well looked by a member of the staff's mother. Please continue to share to give the owner his/her best Christmas Present!Last edited: 2016-12-13 20:55:14 by ClaireC

- The original FB pist is here: https://www.facebook.com/Animal-Express-229910517134980/ It may not have been the owner that abandoned it...they may be in the Uk waiting for their dog to be delivered!

- maybe its me - but surely if you abandoned your dog leaving it tied up in the middle of the night at the eurotunnel its because you have abandoned it ........... i dont think the owner wants to be traced - microchip is untraceable. hopefully this little angel is being looked after somewhere warm and safe, and can be adopted very very soon

- A lot of info on this girl on Animal Express post on Fbk which is worth reading. The Yorkie is still in France as she did not have a passport and is in the care of a French lady whilst efforts to find her owner are made. She is microchipped but it cannot be traced apparently. Animal Express original post says:
"Eurotunnel and French Police are searching for the owner of this pet dog found dumped at Eurotunnel in the early hours. The otherwise well cared-for female was found by Animal Express at 05:00. It was tied up and shivering in the cold in the pet exercise area, together with food, water and its travel box. Eurotunnel had refused to let the dog travel earlier when it was presented without a passport...." A later comment by them says:
"...we also believe this dog belongs to an Eastern European lady working in the UK" Last edited: 2016-12-12 13:12:23 by Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex - 2016-12-12 11:25 ClaireC
