- 2016-12-17 22:57 Doglover
- Baydogs if you Google Mystery Park Wavertree...that is the park.....shrubs all around the perimeter...Airport parking at top of park.....but if you Google and look at Google Earth photo you can see......shame I am unable to add photo on here and I believe you do not do Facebook otherwise you could view it on my post.
- 2016-12-17 22:12 Baydogs
- Also, if she is in that park I'd put up some notices (with Park Manager's permission) to the effect that she is being monitored and must NOT be fed or chased as she's extremely frightened and unpredictable. "Please just phone the numbers" "Photo would be useful"etc
- 2016-12-17 21:59 Sandra Watt
- that's great advice Baydogs - I will pass to owner to see if it doable. Thanks for your help.
- 2016-12-17 21:48 Baydogs
- I'd agree - gently gently.
How big is this park?
Would there be enough volunteers to simply just stake out and watch dawn and dusk to monitor movements? Could much be seen from strategically parked cars (safer and more comfortable too)
Does the park have CCTV? Would the CCTV be available for viewing if the council was approached?
Perhaps notify the police of intentions as well as (I assume) the dog could cause a traffic accident if surrounded by busy roads....? And no-one wants to get done for loitering :) - 2016-12-17 21:40 Sandra Watt
- Thanks Baydogs - hopefully the bed will come in useful - the park is just a guess - it is from where she appeared this morning so lets see what tomorrow brings and hopefully narrow it down. They are trying to get a feeding cage ready and one of those long dog catcher things. She runs very fast and not easy to catch so think the best way is quietly in her own time if her safe place can be found.
- 2016-12-17 21:32 Baydogs
- A bed is good :)
Is it certain that she is hiding in the park or just a guess? - 2016-12-17 21:24 Sandra Watt
- Baydogs - Owner has responded "Yeah got bed has no toys had a bone but that is in wavertree as we tried giving her that on Wednesday" I have told him that the bed my be useful for scenting but we need to find out where her safe place is first.
- 2016-12-17 21:11 Baydogs
- Yes, I did read about the Gumtree ad but it could have been genuine.
Did they pass anything on with Molly like a bed or toys that could be used? - 2016-12-17 21:08 Sandra Watt
- Baydogs - Molly was purchased via a gumtree advert and, not surpringsly, there is now no answer from the mobile number so looks like the previous owners are dodgy or not interested. The owner only purchased Molly a few hours before she escaped so there isn't anything that could be used for scenting. I agree with you that "girl" probably means adult. This is a very difficult case indeed.
- 2016-12-17 21:02 Baydogs
- Does Molly have a bed that smells of the previous home?
Could the previous home provide hoover bag contents? - 2016-12-17 20:59 Baydogs
- Assuming "girl" means an adult...
Then would the girl be prepared to help? Has she anything she's worn that might encourage Molly to come to it? Would she also help with human scenting?
Would the girl be willing to come and gently coax Molly with food once there is a sighting? - 2016-12-17 20:55 Sandra Watt
- Baydogs - owner has responded "The girl of the house seemed to have a bond the man was upstairs so didn't see how she was with him. Molly came in my car easily enough and was fine all the way home"
- 2016-12-17 20:48 Sandra Watt
- not sure baydogs I will ask him - I suspect not.
- 2016-12-17 20:45 Baydogs
- Jenkins, did the current owner see any bond between Molly and the previous owner when he bought her?
- 2016-12-17 20:33 Sandra Watt
- Thanks Holliberry - thats what I was thinking and hope there is a sighting tomorrow to help identify her hiding place. Poor Molly is really scared and just needs to get some loving into her life.
- 2016-12-17 20:30 Hollieberry
- Oh dear this is all traumatic for poor Molly I think she will go back into hiding and only venture out early morning or at night when she thinks no one will see her. Its a shame no one knows where she is sleeping so that food can be left nearby .
- 2016-12-17 20:10 Sandra Watt
- Advice needed - I have found out from the owner who only had Molly for a couple of hours before she escaped. He bought her from gumtree "being sold due to work commitments" and we know what that all means. It is possible that Molly was stolen but no idea really of her background and where she came from - not even sure of her exact age. So Molly escaped today, running scared, don't know where she is. We think she was hiding out in a local park - do you think she is likely to make her way back there. When she is next sighted, how best to catch her. Understand that shar pei's are very loyal but she doesn't really know Lee yet, and there is no-else in the picture to help.

- Great news - Molly has just been caught - a very relieved team who have worked so hard to get her home :)
- 2016-12-17 15:16 Sandra Watt
- You are right hollieberry she has come out today and the good team in Liverpool are looking out for her she us moving about a lot so not sure how they will get her. They have great comes on Facebook with maps and street photos..fingers crossed
- 2016-12-17 14:21 Hollieberry
- I think that Mollie has found somewhere to hide where she feels safe especially if people have been trying to catch her ,she will be reluctant to show herself . This is my own personal opinion I will keep my fingers crossed that she is found soon.
- 2016-12-17 12:31 Sandra Watt
- Still no sightings of Molly, there is a search party underway today by lots of local people so fingers crossed x

- 2016-12-16 21:43 Doglover
- Have the owners done any scenting....ie....left a blanket or old piece of clothing where she went missing....also if owner pees in a bottle and sprays it where she went missing...dogs can pick up the scent and find tgerebway back . With regards to all of the sightings...someone needs to get a map and plot each sighting on it. If it forms a triangle then she will be in that triangle somewhere..
- 2016-12-16 17:22 Sandra Watt
- There have been no sightings since yesterday early afternoon - can anyone offer any advice - everything is being done to locate her. She was spotted all over Liverpool centre yesterday (well meaning people) mostly in cars with people reporting back on sightings, do you think she has gone somewhere to hide and how long can she hide away without food.
- 2016-12-16 14:31 Sandra Watt
- No sightings at all today - the fantastic Scouse Pets 2 facebook team are now getting posters prepared and also contacting local media - radio and newspapers. She just seems to have disappeared.
- 2016-12-16 10:54 Sandra Watt
- thanks doglover - I will advise them - they have informed the police who have said if any reports come through from railways or highways, the dog warden will be notified and will contact owner. Just need a sighting x
- 2016-12-16 10:50 Doglover
- Jenkins.....I know doglost do not like us mentioning...but are there any Trav sites she could have wandered into ...........owners also need to check all selling sites daily Gumtree.....Preloved.....Pets4sale and. Website Dragon Driving.co.uk
- 2016-12-16 09:22 Sandra Watt
- Yes - dog warden was contacted by phone this morning and dont have her - apparently they had the owner's details yesterday to contact if she was found. It is concerning that she has not been sighted, she is not wearing a collar and is not microchipped ! Maybe your suggestion yesterday of Network Rail is a good one and I also think Highways as there are lots of main roads in the area she was yesterday.
- 2016-12-16 09:13 Doglover
- Jenkins ...do you mean dog wardens for that area....
- 2016-12-16 09:12 Sandra Watt
- Not with dog warden and details have been left with local vets so the search continues for a sighting. I have suggested printing dog lost posters and postering in the areas she was seen yesterday.
- 2016-12-16 08:51 Sandra Watt
- Does anyone have access to Animal Wardens website to find out if they have this dog - there have been no sightings since early afternoon yesterday and their phone line is constantly engaged.
- 2016-12-15 23:58 Doglover
- Jenkins ....so do I......seems she had such a bad start in life x

- Jenkins....I have a post for her on our group on FB.....what groupmare you seeing Molly on or has she got her own page....I am just concerned that if she has been tomthe railway tracks once already and as we know loose dogs travel in triangles, she could very well go back in that direction....Last edited: 2016-12-15 20:31:51 by Doglover

- Hi Doglover - she was near there about lunchtime today but seen lots of places after that. I am still watching facebook to find out next sighting and will report anything. If she goes back to the train track I will advise owner about your suggestion.
- 2016-12-15 19:11 Doglover
- Jenkins......if she has been seen around Waverlee Train Station.....has Network Rail been advised and also have the train tracks been checked. X

- Molly is still not caught, but appears to have gone to ground. Feeding stations are being set up tonight in places where she has been regularly sighted so hope this works.
- 2016-12-15 13:01 Sandra Watt
- Facebook update - last seen running on Edge Lane - I believe most of the searchers are in cars trying to keep track of her - she was on the run all day yesterday too. They have been advised about your tactic Claire - suppose they just need to get her to one place to try this.
- 2016-12-15 12:32 ClaireC
- Chasing i hope not chasing. Someone who is near again if she is seen, needs to sit down, say nothing and just throw some treats near to her. Hopefully she will gain a bit of trust.this is a rescue dog to begin with. They dont understand kindness at this stage!
- 2016-12-15 12:22 Sandra Watt
- She is still being chased all over the area and not caught yet. Lots of helpers this morning have had to leave now so not sure where she is now.
