MAGGY IS HOME. I got a call around 1pm from a farmer - she was in a field with some sheep next to Ravensroost Wood. They caught her and I collected her just now. Thankfully she hadn't harmed the sheep at all. She is thin and has a limp, so off to the vet next. THANK YOU so much everyone for help in looking, advice and support. This is an amazing site and you are all wonderful people. Happy Christmas to all.

Hi Aliandbarney the guys I spoke to live on the main road right next to the bridleway that heads east out of Webb's wood to the main road. It is a small traveller community I think. She was sniffing around their bins but fled back towards Webb's when they approached. They said she was very muddy and didn't have her collar. They were vague about what day but sure it was within the last week. If she crosses the main road there she may well head up towards Greenhill or towards Flaxlands. If she is headed home she will get stuck the wrong side of the M4. I walked up at Greenhill and across to Webb's on Sunday but it would be good to have someone looking out for her there. I spent a couple of hours in Webb's this morning calling and topping up the food I have left. No sign.

Am in Little Somerford, willing to help with a search if needed. Know Ravensroost wood well. Also, lost dogs from this area if found often end up at the main Swindon police station - by South Marston roundabout. Have you checked with them? Good luck, hope she is found soon

Can you be a bit more specific about where Maggy might have been seen? I'm up at Greenhill and have finished work for the hols so could go out for a look whenever.

A possible sighting today - I spoke to a couple of people who run a garden supplies business on the B4696 outside Wootton Bassett, who said a dog matching Maggy's description has been in their yard sniffing around the bins. When they approached her she fled back towards Webb's wood that backs onto their property. I have spent some time this afternoon and evening walking all over and calling, and have left food and a bed blanket.

Thanks for all the info. I will start doing the suggestions tonight - I have been going up several times a day and calling but will bring food. I have been overwhelmed by the kindness and support shown, thank you

If at all possible, go back and park in the same place, and wait.... take a sleeping bag, flask of tea, etc., and wait from late afternoon onwards. Dogs very often return to where they expect to find you, often at dusk or dawn, or in the small hours, so be prepared for a long night. And go again tomorrow if there's no further news. Also poster everywhere, and hand fliers to dog walkers.
