Flash went misdsing at roughly  the same time as Merlin my welsh foxhound and I used to check up on both their threads every day. How lovely it would be if we could at least have some closure. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hannah, thinking of you as I am in exactly the same situation with Pippin, who went missing on 27th July 2007,  I think about him every day and look at his picture which is on my mobile and desktop and talk to him, asking him just to give me a clue where he is and I will be there, I am sure this is the same for you, but we must not give up hoping and looking as our boys are out there somewhere and someone knows.  I went to a game fair this weekend to poster only to find out that it was cancelled.  Flash is there somewhere and God willing you will find him.  Keep your chin up and tell him "Mum wont be long now until she finds you"  as someone quoted in an earlier comment "the darkest day is just before dawn" - how true xx.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Today I took a call from a friend to say she thought she had seen Flash with 3 people in a park in Bristol.  I talked her through Flash's description (which, from the amount of pro-active work I have put into finding him is etched on my memory, even a year on.)  I asked her to approach the people the dog was with and engage them in conversation and get a good description of the dog.  She did so...........I was on the other end of the phone hoping and praying it was Flash.  The dog, however was a bitch, so not Flash, sadly.  Although the disappointment was great, this does show that there are people still looking for Flash, and ALL our missing dogs even such a long time after they were stolen/went missing.  I will NEVER give up looking for Flash.............we got back Buddy and Flora, both stolen at the same time as Flash, and when we find this VERY DISTINCTIVE boy you will hear me whooping with joy!  Wherever you are Flash, keep safe until we find you xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi Hannah - I'm so sorry it wasn't Flash - the original call to me via a poster in Winchester said it was a grey Lurcher that matched my Maggie - naturally I got the shakes big time and was so disappointed when it turned out not to be her - only to be disappointed again that it wasn't yours either. Will keep my fingers crossed for you that Flash is found soon. Don't give up. Atleast the Dog Warden now knows about DL.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hannah - so sorry it wasn't Flash and for raising your hopes. Good they will check the DL site. Do they have a poster of Flash? If not, might be worth sending them one. I wish you luck with your search and hope Flash is home with you soon. Will continue to keep my eyes open in my area, albeit a long way from you. CaroleLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hannah - I just hope I haven't raised your hopes too much but at the time my thoughts were along the same lines as Greylady. Will keep checking here tomorrow. Had a look on the Test Valley site to see if they had any photos of found dogs but they only give a variety of telephone nos. They do mention DL. Shame they wouldn't give Maggie's mum any info on the other lurcher handed in. Perhaps someone from DL could enquire. Good luck. CaroleLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

You are so right Millie's mum! We are aware that there is a connection with all three lurchers who were stolen from the same area around the same time, and all the information has been passed to the police ~ who ARE investigating!! All of this has come about because the owners of all three dogs have talked to one another continually throughout the time their dogs have been missing and have pooled information, together with the help they have received from Dog Lost helpers. A lot of information has been gathered!!!! So Flash, you will be home soon, I am sure of it! Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Flash can not have just disappeared into thin air, someone must have seen him, and maybe not realised that he is reported as missing. Riding on the success of Buddy's return, let's turn up the heat on all of our South West dogs that are still missing. It's been a long time, but hang on in there Flash, we are looking for you. Can all Dog lost helpers who visit this page, please email a copy of Flash's poster, to all of their friends and family where ever they live in the UK. As we all know, missing dogs are not always found in the area in which they were lost. Thank you. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

We are having such a spate of stolen dogs, in particular lurchers in the SW at the moment, but also a good success rate with getting them back too. There is a pattern developing, and some fab communication going on between owners, members, dog wardens and the police. Flash is also very distinctive, and with all the information coming in from eagle eyed volunteers I am confident we are near to getting him home. Please keep postering, particularly in the Bristol and Glos and Home Counties areas. Lets make him too hot to handle too.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

If he's up around Lansdown it would be worth contacting the public school up that way (think it's called Kingsdown?) as have big grounds for playing sport etc and loads of boys knocking about + Bath racecourse a bit further up the hill as their grounds people might spot him. Fraid I don't live there anymore but know it pretty well. Hope you find him safe soon! I was followed by some white van traveller types while walking my 3 lurchers yesterday but thankfully they finally buzzed off due to a retriever walker turning up in his car - phew! Was getting a bit panicky.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Posters need to be displayed as soon as possible on notice boards, lamp posts, entrances to parks, dog bins and on cars. Take posters to vets, pet shops, postmen (for sorting offices), milkmen, dustmen, street cleaners, taxi drivers, schools, pubs, youth clubs, newsagents, post offices, takeaways, dog training clubs, supermarkets and car parks. Hand out reduced-down posters or cards to people - especially dog walkers - and deliver to houses and businesses. Police stations, Dog Wardens, the RSPCA and all rescue centres need checking frequently and preferably visited in person by owner or someone who knows Flash well. Stay safe Flash until you are back home x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
