So very happy & massive praise to EVERYONE who had any dealings with 'Magic" that's what Christmas is all about. Helping and offering with no thought of reward, I imagine just reading this post is satisfaction enough. I'm chuffed to bits.

Thanks to Bree our Italian Greyhound who got posted through a small hole in a locked farm building and came back with a grateful puppy. Both had to be hauled out in an undignified fashion by their necks after having a few treats but puppy was very grateful and soon snuggled under my coat for the walk back.

Yes the plan worked - the 2 calm Italian Greyhounds arrived and after another sighting at the farm - the 2 IG's attracted her to them.

I have messaged Linn Reeves from Animal House Rescue and passed on that no trap should be used, told her that this info came from a very experienced breeder and not to use traps

Thank you Jo for your advise - Jo is on her way with 2 calm Italian Greyhounds to sighting. Jo tells me that on no account must a trap be used for IG's. We need to take her advice - she has 12 and knows the breed inside out! Jo also knows something about the background of this puppy.

Excellent. If you need me to come down with an quiet maternal IG ( who we use with nervous rescues ) that I can let off the lead and will go to her, let me know. If you manage to catch her, I can come down and collect her as I have a special rescue Kennel and have had IGs for 30 years. Then the owner can colloect her here and perhaps I can help him with her. Crossing everything.

We have a sighting - can I ask everyone now to back away, as is often the case as you try to catch the dog it will run. The pup was seen in a very safe area and residents are switched on to slowly gaining trust.

K9 search dogs are one They have a website.The breeder should get over there. They will need something that smells of the dog.

Hi she had a collar and lead on when lost from what I know a search has been done today of area. Hedges etc but no sign. David.

The breeders are best option - if they are interested 🙁. IGs can hide themselves very well and also they can run a long way in a short space of time.

Italian Greyhound Rescue Charity. If you need our help,we can send someone with Italian Greyhounds. Generally they like their own breed. Has anyone contacted the breeders as the dog would respond to them the best. IGs can be very spooky if they don't know you. At least she won't head towards the motorway. - Ring Jo 01327875181

Thank you so much, and fantastic someone has put up a poster. I also had a phone call from a gentleman who lives nearby and had seen it on another post, he was going to go and have a look and again tomorrow. (its more or less impossible to search in the dark. Hope she has found somewhere to shelter. We are so grateful for all the posts and help. We are devastated.

Several of us have been out searching - I think someone still is but it is now dark. All of Illey are aware of her. Yes, I quite understand how horrible and difficult it is, in no way was that meant to sound critical, it was just as I was going to the service station, I wondered if we might be able to meet. Animal House Rescue are searching too. Poster up at the pub. I will go and search the woods tomorrow in the daylight

Hi David has left now and is travelling north, we had no idea what to do he spend all day walking the fields where the dog ran, looked under hedges and anywhere he thought it could be hiding, also went to every farm in the area he could find and also a local pub and left details with the farms and the pub. He was alone and searching on your own is difficult especially in an area that he didnt know. If it is an idea to come back down then we would do that.
