- I posted the found deceased spaniel and have looked back and agree it was posted to WhitleyBay facebook group so I actually think the find area should be Leamington Spa as that is where the vets took the dog. I reckon the postcode area needs to be changed - sorry for any inconvenience.

Information from a dog walker who has found a dead spaniel
This is the info just in case you know of someone looking for a dog
Found a dead Spaniel dog this afternoon whilst on my last walk of the year so called all authorities viuld not help.
There was no way we could leave it there. We either got voicemail or were told there was nothing they would do and 'why have you called us'. The local vets were brilliant and asked if we could get the dog to them so they could see who it belongs to. My husband picked up this poor animal with the help of a very kind gentleman from the National Grid and the vets came to pick it up. Unfortunately it looks like the poor dog had been there a few days:
I can't believe nobody would help! The vets also called all services and had no luck! We are meant to be a nation of animal lovers and nobody wanted to help. Make me so sad!
If anyone had lost a liver and white Spaniel, it's at Feldon Vets in Leamington Spa.
Reading through the above I don't think this dead dog has ever been anywhere near Whitley Bay! - 2017-01-17 14:12 Lisa P - Regional Co-ordinator, Central

- Just thinking about dates as well as colour not matching Lucky. Lucky went missing on 21 Dec & was seen under quay for 5 days so that was at least 25th. Deceased dog (also says below advanced decomposition) above was found on 24th so sounds as if it can't be Lucky

- Jayne - I got the information from "Help Find Shearer" facebook page dated 24th Dec at 08.11. the dog walker said the dog was at Feldon Vets in Leamington Spa and when I checked the number it is same as that listed above. Also stated is that the woman's husband picked up the dog with the help of a very kind gentleman from the National Grid and the vets came to pick it up. Definitatly states liver and white spaniel. I hope this helps. I cannot copy the facebook link as I am at work right now.

- Could someone ring the finders of this dog and ask them to look at Luckys picture ?
- 2017-01-17 12:07 Molliemoo
- Sorry to ask a really dumb question but was the found dog definitely liver and white. I ask because of Lucky who jumped from a ferry at North Shields on 21st December and if I remember rightly his owners are not English and from what I gather from ClaireC's post below the found spaniels chip isn't English either. Lucky's DogLost No. 109302. Everyone's keeping their fingers crossed that Lucky will still be found alive but just thinking if there was an error with the found dog's colour it would finally give Lucky's owners closure.

- Latest update taken from fb by, I think the DW:
Yes, and it's not good I'm afraid. The vets that inplanted the chip were contacted and responded but I was outraged by their response which basically said that if the owner hadn't registered the chip it was their own fault and they weren't prepared to do anything to help.
The vet that is looking after the body of the pup is now making deeper enquiries with the authorities both in this country and the country of origin. - 2017-01-01 16:15 Unknown

- Yes there is a chip but not registered. Doglost is working on it. Christmas holidays means everywhere is shut down to assist further.

- Jenkins was there no chip?
Such a shame
Hope owner can be found - 2016-12-24 17:55 ClaireC
- Doglost is helping in this in trying to trace an owner. When I spoke with vet yesterday they said because the dog was in advanced stage of decomposition it was not possible to state gender. Hopefully doglost can find an owner and bring closure for them.

- Hi patlucky - I came across this when searching on facebook and thought someone may be looking for their dog - just shame there is no photo or whether male or female but maybe someone will recognise it. Might lead to closure for someone.
