- Belle is still missing
- 2018-11-29 17:37 Willturton
- Cant be sure but i believe i saw Belle today at around 4.30pm at willesley woods, just up from the main lake. She looked up at me and when i didnt see an owner i tried to close the gap but she dissapeared into the woods and after a while searching i unfortunatley couldnt find her. Im glad to say she looked healthy and full of life and was running with some speed! Hope you find her soon.

- Just seen on a FB page of a chap called Rich Sarangi that he's trying to find the owner of a dog who ran in front of his car (he did hit it but it ran off and he's desperately trying to find the owner) This was in Hawkins Lane Burton on Trent DE13 and only a few miles from where Belle was last seen. Would it be worth her owner making contact with this chap Rich to see if it could have been Belle? His Fb page isn't private so if you type his name you can see all the comments and full story. I've directed him to Doglost to see if he recognises it as any missing on our records.

- Come on Belle we are all willing you home XX
- 2018-10-28 18:22 Owl
- From Jeannette Taylor-Bye on the search team: The area involved is dense forest, we ask that people do not go searching in case she gets spooked and leaves the area, she seems to be quite happy there, we do ask if you are in the area to be very vigilant and report anything no matter how small. Pauline is in touch with those that sighted her and when it's needed, equipment is on hand and ready to go.

- From owner on Facebook: GOOD NEWS ! There has been a sighting of Belle on thursday 18th October 2018 near Willesley fishing lake and the Willesley scout site. She was apparently looking ok and walking through the woodland on her own, and someone else had also seen her there on another occasion but didn't report it. The lake is used by a private fishing syndicate and they have been informed to look out for her, as have the adjoining golf club staff and the scouting members. This gives us hope and proof that she is still out there surviving and has stayed in the area. Just need some good luck now

- I would like to update Belle's movements so that people are aware and looking out for her. It had been quiet for a long time from May 2017 until a sighting in Donisthorpe by the entrance to Jungle Madness in Church Street on November 6th 2017, followed by another sighting near Donisthorpe on the road leading to Ashby del a Zouch which goes along Willesley Lane and past Willesley woods and Carp lake on January 23rd 2018. Then there was a definite sighting of her in Willesley woods on January 30th 2018. This latest sighting confirms that she is still in the area and is feral. We now really need more sightings reported to us as soon as possible after the event so that we can get there quickly. Please don't scare her off by calling or chasing, just ring my number asap :- 07929562970
She seems to be staying within close proximity to cycle track 63, which runs from Gresley and Tunnel woods and Albert Lake all the way to Donisthorpe, where there have been previous sightings last spring. Please share this information with all walkers, cyclists etc so that they can look out for her. We have put posters and a banner in these areas, so fingers crossed that we find her safe and well. Hopefully she will stay in this area and give us a better chance of finding her. - 2018-03-04 12:08 Owl
- Sighting on Tuesday 23rd Jan 2018 crossing the road from fields to Willlesley carp lake.

- There was another potential sighting of Belle last night, same area as recent sightings. No one can confirm as yet whether this is definitely Belle, or whether there may be a similar dog living feral.

- Due to the recent sightings of Belle in Swadlincote, i have found that there is an old disused railtrack that runs from Cadley where she went missing into Swadlincote. Do you have any helpers in that area that could maybe walk some of this route to see if they could spot belle as i feel this would be a perfect route for her to take away from main roads.

- UPDATE FROM BELLE'S FB PAGE: Possible sighting this morning (04/04/17) at 08:15 near the Clock Island at At the bottom of Granville street, Woodville near Burton Road. The sighter didn't see her as she had already left for work but her daughter & neighbour tried to get her, but she ran off. If there is anyone in this area please can you keep us posted of any sightings, do not approach or chase as this might panic the dog into the road and as we know it is very busy especially in the morning traffic, please contact this number and ask for Pauline with any information 07929562970, thank you

- I believe that other followers have contacted riders, and we had three ladies with their two dogs tracking her on the 27th december, but no luck. We have checked the rabbit/fox holes in that area as far as possible and no sign of digging or disturbance and no response to us whistling and calling her, including using a homemade device to shout down the holes.
- 2017-01-05 08:00 Doglover
- Pauline....are there any horseriders that ride along that route...they are very good at spotting lost dogs that are hiding in shrubs or brambles...Have all rabbit holes etc been checked....Have you thought about getting a tracker dog out...to find her scent.

- Thanks to everyone that is helping to find Belle by sharing her details, and to all those that have given up their time to search for her. We were staying with my son in Cadley lane and walking in the woods by the disused railway line which adjoins the A444 going to Burton. We live in Wales, but she has walked there on a few previous occasions. Heartbroken to have lost her, she is our "baby" and a real character. I desperately hope that there is news soon.

- Thank you. The Fell and Moorland suggested I might take Wispa to track. She and her partner Finlay have been out and found scent all over the woodland and on adjacent fields, but nothing to suggest Belle has gone to ground. We think she is still around there, possibly sleeping off a rabbit kill as we found fluff near a hole where our dogs showed interest. The hole was too small for a Lakeland to get down.

If you think you know the area where she may have gone to ground, the Fell and Moorland working terrier association are experts at rescuing lost or trapped terriers.
Just passing on the info. Good luck.Hope Belle is home soon. X - 2016-12-27 00:01 JANI
