If you would let us know how and exactly where Buster was lost it will help us to know the best way to help you with your search.
I would suggest leaving bedding/something that has a strong scent of you (unwashed socks/tshirts work well) in the place where he was lost from so that he has something that smells familiar to him to help him find his way back and to settle with when he returns.
