- Brilliant news...we vizsla owners have been sharing like crazy. Huge thanks to all that were able to offer assistance on the ground to help reach this wonderful outcome. I agree about dog guards...I have yet to find one any of my dogs could be contained by so it is definitely worth investing in a proper car crate. They can often be found second hand on ebay or in the dog press.Wishing Jonah and his owners a happy 2017.
- 2017-01-02 17:17 bullt
- Incredibly pleased he is safe now - really hope owner will invest in a proper travel crate for Jonah or as already said a proper & very secure dog guard, but a crate might be the safest - also when tailgate is opened ... if he is given to bolting ! x

- Oh that is the best news. I am so relieved. Was really worried as it's been 4 days I was beginning to despair and the temperature tonight was going to be -5. Having difficulty typing this message as I'm having a job seeing through the tears. You guys did a wonderful job. Thank you so much. It is comforting to know that so many people are prepared to step up to the mark when one of our furry friends is in need. Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou.

- Update from search team of help they require please x "There are no searches planned for tomorrow. However, we would be grateful for posters being put up in the following places:
Old Brownsover
Newbold (quarry has been covered)
Harborough Magna
Cosford (a couple have already been put up in centre of village)
Posters can be printed direct from Jonah's doglost post.
If you are out walking tomorrow in these areas, we would appreciate looking closely at undergrowth and possible hiding places.
If anything changes, we will post here. Hoping for sightings soon. Thank you all for continued help. We have been out again tonight and have had no sightings. It can't be much longer til we do. Come on Jonah." - 2017-01-02 08:57 Heather
- I live in the Rugby area. Has Jonah been found yet. I would like to help look for him, what can I do to help?

- I have vizsla's too, they are a very sensitive breed as you know. Jonah is petrified, he's only still a puppy - this goes without saying. I would think, knowing the breed very well that he's hiding somewhere and concealing himself. He may only come out at night when its quiet. He's out there somewhere...Come on Jonah, we need a sighting. It may be worth going out in the still of the night ( 1,2 3am) when there are no 'day noises' i.e traffic, birds - human noise. When it's so quiet your voice will travel further and he would have more of a chance to hear owner.

- Message from search team x "Really appreciate that people want to help and I don't want to alienate anyone but I am soaked to skin and being given lots of advice by text which has already been covered. There is a feed station set up. Dogs home comforts and scent of owner have been down since Jonah went missing and a search dog has been in the area practically constantly since the day after he went missing. We have used drones and thermal imaging. The only thing we can do is be proactive and continue searching, postering and talking to people. Please get the word out of the immediate area incase he has left the area after all fireworks last night. And can I ask that you only text or ring with sightings as my phone is now drenched. Thank you"

- Despite constant searching since first light we are sadly no nearer to bringing Jonah home. This is what we know so far.
Jonah's owner was travelling along the M6 with Jonah in the back of the car behind a dog guard. For an unknown reason Jonah started displaying signs of distress and forced his way past the dog guard and into the main body of the car. The next thing his owner knew was that Jonah was standing on the button for the electric window, which started to go down. In a panic, he attempted to stop it from opening but was too late and Jonah escaped from the car.
Highways England were informed, along with the police and the local council and Jonah's owner searched for him. He was spotted by a member of the public near to GAP warehouse and he barked at the man from the other side of the fence. He was also seen in Crows Furlong on the Coton Park housing estate and may have been seen a second time there later on. There has been a possible sighting today very close to the industrial area but searchers were unable to find him.
The company that Jonah's chip is registered to are aware that he is missing. All local vets have been informed. Posters are being printed and we hope that volunteers will help to put these up this afternoon/evening.
It has been disappointing to see some people jumping to conclusions and passing judgement on Jonah's owners. We ask everyone to please share Jonah's DogLost poster and do as much as you can to support Jonah's family, who have had a massive shock and are distraught that he is missing.
Thank you for your help xxLast edited: 2016-12-30 15:11:21 - 2016-12-30 08:24 Lisa P - Regional Co-ordinator, Central
