The only other information from Simon via Facebook is " He went back to Tancreek... I would love to know where he has been".
I did discover there was a male cat which lived close to the boundary of Tencreek with two females also living nearby. I wonder if despite the fact he is neutered Mischief thought he would try his luck with the females and the male got to find out and sent him packing, by which time the owners had returned home.
Stay safe and secure Mischief until your carriage arrives at the weekend to take you home :)
Lynne
So pleased to read the news and yes it would be so interesting for the details later xx

Good that Micheif is neutered, as then he (Hopefully wont have gone too far. Best to check as many outbuildinhgs as you can. (A lost cat posted on Gumtree had been missing for TWO WEEKS. He had been locked in a nearby house when the owners were away for Christmas; He must have sneaked in. He is okay apparently,) No wonder they say cats have "NINE LIVES") Come on Mischief show yourself or be heard Paws xd. Some cats do prefer to bne outside. Like us they are individuals but it is safer to keep then in overnight. I keep my two in Of course it all depends on where you live

Hello Simon. It must have been incredibly hard for you all to return home without him.

Thank you for the extra information regarding his appearance. I'm sure this will help those here and elsewhere to locate him.

I noted your comments about him probably loving life outside and investigating the area. Does that mean he generally prefers to be outdoors more than indoors? If that is the case, would you say that he would be more likely to curl up in a barn and catch mice than meow at someone's door for food? Or is that hard to predict?
SIMON TYLER
Hello, I am the Son in law of the owners Mischief, can I thank everyone for there help. We are all heartbroken that we had to return home without him. We have had a number of photos sent to us, but I'm afraid that none of these are him. Tancreek caravan park are keeping a close eye around the site, although we have the feeling that he has gone in to the fields around and off from there. He will more than likely be loving life and investigating the area. He is afraid of vehicles as he saw his brother get run over a year or so ago, so that makes him nervous and means he will run if he gets near a road. He will not usually approach anyone he doesn't know unless he feels comfortable. He is neutered and chipped. He is mainly black with white front pours and a white underbody, looks a little like a tuxedo. He also has a black tail. He has a couple of what looks like very small bald patches near his tail. He does seem to lick a lot. He is a large medium cat... he is lovely and very sadly missed. We are happy to give a small reward for his safe return or donate to a local charity (we are thinking this site but up to who helps us locate our lovely cat) thank you again to everyone for all your help and giving up your time over the new year.

I have shared with DL FB Page, Twitter & Public. I hope Mischief is safely back at home soon. X

Is it known if Mischief was neutered (?), as if so he might well have stayed close to the caravan park. Good suggestions by Jayelle to get everyone on the site to check and re-check caravans, cupboards, vehicles, storage containers. When frightened cats will often hide and be very quiet, especially indoor cats and/or those lost in a strange area so can be difficult to spot unless places searched thoroughly. I know of a missing cat who had managed to get into a neighbour's house loft and the neighbour had no idea until a week later when they went to get something out of the loft and found it hiding behind the boxes they had gone to get out. Have shared to local lost pet groups and tweeted.

My cat slipped unnoticed into a neighbors garage loft, which is rarely opened. He was shut in for nearly 3 weeks, came out very cross and thin. Our good neighbour was horrified as he had checked all his outbuildings for the cat, completely forgetting the garage loft which had been opened only briefly to put something into storage. Within an hour of getting home the cat had spotted our own caravan door slightly opened and vanished inside to investigate.......So please get everyone on the site to check and re check caravans, cupboards, vehicles, storage containers.

It would be ideal if he tried to adopt you wouldn't it.... :)

Baydogs - I live on the road from Portlooe to Talland which runs along the boundary of the fields to the south of Tencreek Holiday park, and will give all my neighbours a poster. Not sure about white socks - somebody did ask for full description of markings on a FB page - will check later.
Baydogs
Also is he wearing a collar?

It would also be a good idea to add him to the Lostbox Website and FB for missing pets. Loads of found and missing cats on there. I can't do the latter, but if the family are happy with me doing a post for the website using their photo (or others if they'd rather) I can do that for them.
Baydogs
Thanks Geoff.
He may not have had time to spray a scent around but cats also have interdigital glands and some on their face too so if he had felt comfortable returning to the van and his family I think that he would have done so during that week. He could return there of course, when he feels it is safe, so it is good that all staff will be aware.

I personally feel that he was so spooked that he ran some distance, maybe to one of the properties or farms nearby. Is it possible that they could also have flyers through their doors too?

He may have joined a feral community on a farm- though it will be obvious from his behaviour that he isn't as feral as the rest. Or he could try to "adopt" a nearby family, the way cats do.

His facial markings are quite distinctive, which is good. Does he have white socks?

Baydogs - he just slipped out of the door the first day of a one week stay in a static unit. From owner: " . . . the issue we have is that he ran within about 10 minutes of us being there, so the little devil had no chance to lay down his sent.... we left food out whist we there and apart from by sea gulls, it wasn't touched".
Not sure whether he is a regular at Tencreek, or if he often goes on holiday with owner.
Baydogs
Geoff, how did Mischief go missing? Did he slip out the door? Was he spooked by a dog? (It is a dog friendly site)
Is Michief used to going on caravan holidays? Had he been a regular here before?
Were the family staying in a static caravan or a tourer?

Seeks - I am printing 150 A5 flyers for Reception / Bar and shop at moment, will do some posters tomorrow and pop them all up there late morning. I am only half a mile away - saves you a trip.
Seeks
Will get some posters out tomorrow for them. Its only 20 or so miles up xx

Is Looe far from Mischief's permanent home?

Sorry to see this. And I live nowhere nearby unfortunately.
Suggest all CPL branches notified as well.
Has local radio given out any alerts?
