no news whatsoever about Snuff I'm afraid... In my efforts to find him tho, I found out that Vet's do not automatically scan new dogs that are brought into their surgeries...! I find that astounding! How can we change this..? perhaps if they did more people could be reunited with their animals eh.....Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

jayne, can you call me re scent trails? I've had lots of calls of support from people but no sightings. Today a lady suggested Terrier Tracking - i never knew such a thing exsisted! I've contacted one in Fife and hope they come back to me - if only to set my mind at rest that he is or isn't stuck down a hole someplace. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

A wee girl called me last night to say she and her friend had seen a dog, lookin like Snuff, chasin ducks at Forfar Loch beside the Leisure Centre the night before... My son and I walked the whole area but didn't see anything. I would have hoped that if these wee girls had seen him then so might someone else - but I still haven't heard a thing despite such a lot of press coverage etc!! Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Snuff's Mum
Hiya, Snuff's owner here... I still havent had any luck with finding him. The Evening Telegraph report was unbelievable but as yet it's not brought him home. The dog which was mentioned with the blue collar wasn't Snuff either unfortunately. I'm doing as much as I can and am not giving up hope yet. He and Sos (Son of Snuff - his son & partner in crime) are a couple of wee toe-rags. They were always in bother and Sos is really missin his Dad... thanks for your help and support. Try contacting SSPCA Edinburgh Central Control SSPCA Petterden Most Importantly Kinaldie Kennels, Auchmithie, Arbroath (This is where the dogs are taken too), Also ask them for the number for the kennels at Arbroath & Guthrie - they take in strays prior to them going to Kinaldie. NOT ALL Kennels check for microchips as they dont have machines. I have learnt this from past experience. GOOD LUCK XLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

For your information ? As you advised I?ve tried calling all the police forces to ensure that my missing dog is reported across the length and breadth of the country. Unfortunately this tact is not accepted by the forces ? indeed only Central Force took my details but gave me a whole list of reasons why they shouldn?t! Also without fail, each telephonist I spoke to treated my report of my missing dog with contempt? basically, I was stupid to think that my dog had high tailed it as far as Grampian, the Borders etc? I had to explain that the dog may have been lifted and carried, but that theory obviously, was too far fetched!!!! I thought your advice was good and offered us another line of enquiry?unfortunately I was met with a brick wall. Perhaps you could share this with others......e mail from owners. As soon as Admin receives a photograph, the poster will be emailed out to helpers. Posters need to be displayed as soon as possible on notice boards, lamp posts, entrances to parks, dog bins and on cars. Take posters to vets, pet shops, libraries, postmen (for sorting offices), milkmen, dustmen, street cleaners, taxi drivers, schools, pubs, youth clubs, newsagents, post offices, takeaways, dog training clubs, supermarkets and car parks. Hand out reduced-down posters or cards to people - especially dog walkers - and deliver to houses and businesses. Police stations, Dog Wardens, the RSPCA and all rescue centres need checking frequently and preferably visited in person by owner or someone who knows Snuff well.
