Betty has just been found - the search party were out and in the distance her head appeared across the other side of the river. Fortunately the sons were over there and were able to easily catch her.
She was clearly making her way home from her little adventure.
Well done!

******SEARCH PARTY ORGANISED*******
Meeting at 9am tomorrow (2nd January) at WatersMeet end, Portholme Meadow PE29 3AY
Nikki (Tyler's mum)
I understand from Facebook that a search is being organised for tomorrow at 9am. Meeting place is the car park on the Huntingdon side (waters meet)
Mel
The family have been in touch with Jenny Tiga who gave some advice. They will be contacting her later to see if she could come out and track.
Nikki (Tyler's mum)
Just a thought, but would the amazing Jenny and Tiga be able to help on this one especially with the train tracks being so close to the last sighting and very easily accessible?
Nikki (Tyler's mum)
Just back from checking the A14 near portholme, all bushes between the entrance at Huntingdon to the entrance at Brampton on portholme and most of castle hill. No sign unfortunately. There are a lot of dog walkers about at the moment and I made sure each was aware of Betty. The sign on the gate is still there and readable of a little wet.

The owner has created a poster and will also be setting up a FB page as a single place for advice/updates, which can then be shared. There hasn't been any sign of her since yesterday, so no idea what route (if any) she is following. They have been out since dawn again, and have been laying scent trails.

Sammie, from comments on Facebook I believe Betty went missing from her home. I have copied and pasted your instructions to the owner and I know she has seen it as she has liked the post.
Sammie
Mel, do you know how she went missing? From home? on a walk? Even an ex breeder will generally return to the spot they went missing or return to home (or close to it). They must leave a car/clothing/crate in the place they last saw her if out on a walk. Or from home gate open, crate, bedding food etc outside, shed open gate open. even the door at home open (so long as they are in).

I have shared with DL FB Page, Twitter & Public. I hope Betty is safely back at home soon. X

To add - she is an ex-breeder from Many Tears rescue and was adopted by her new family 2 months ago. They have been out with their resident Beagle to scent. I fostered Betty, but she is now living around 3 hours from me and can't be there so doing the online things.

Glad to see Betty listed on here, she is being shared on Facebook and I've just got the email alert. Our garden backs onto the river with portholme opposite and I've been checking across portholme from the garden for the last few hours as visibility is good at the moment and can see all the way across. Unfortunately I can't leave home to search today. Hoping she has already been picked up and is being kept safe as there will be a lot of fireworks around the area tonight and there is a railway close to where Betty was last heading.
Mel
I have listed this on behalf of the owner (Jane Halliday). The mobile numbers are her and her husbands. The email is mine.
