If lost from home leave the gate open as may make his own way back to where lost from. You could put his bed out there so he knows its his. Put up lots of posters and put a couple of them.in Royal Mail post boxes. Posties will keep a lookout for him. Ask neighbours to check their gardens as may be hiding out in one.
