This is such a sad outcome. I was desperately hoping he would be found in a barn and be safe somewhere. The amount of wonderful caring people who turned out this morning for the search and to
support Nigel's owners was incredible. Huge thanks to each and every one of you .My thoughts are with Nigel's owners, who never gave up looking, they tried so hard to find him. Every single owner I have helped that has a dog at the bridge says the same thing, they would rather it was this way , than never knowing what happened.I hope his owners get some comfort from this Sleep in peace little man . God bless

Just had a call from Mollychops , unfortunately Nigel has been found, but very sadly was deceased and now at Rainbow Bridge. :(
Mollychops will update later as she was out searching for him when she heard the very sad news.

Just got home from tracking with Tiga - I suggest that the search party tomorrow goes to all farms and buildings in the close area to the Ravensroost Wood and not only ask if the residents have seen Nigel but ask if they can search the farm buildings etc. At such a young age Nigel will be sleeping a lot of the time. He is not in the woods - there is no where to shelter, find food etc but should come back to find owners but not stay. He cannot have gone far. There is a barn opposite the car park with dry hay which needs checking regularly and Tiga tracked up the cinder track to appropriately named Dog Trap Lane to a property that is being built - workmen were aware. Tiga also tracked across the field with the small horse jumps in. Each time Tiga came back to the woods.
If anyone can offer any help tomorrow please do. Nigel needs to be found.

Nothing so far today . Owners have been going door to door,and have postered all around the entrances to the wood I will suggest they start postering further afield. I went for a walk there at midday but no sign of Nigel. Met sister of the owner who was out looking and suggested going to all the local farms/houses to let them know - not all use the internet! Will poster around Minety but think they need to poster local area as well as in the wood. I lost my two spaniels for over 48 hours so I know what they are going through. Let's hope he finds his way to a house soon.

Yes Owl, bedding left ,see my post below .Thanks everyone for tweets and shares. I met owners earlier (-6) . I could only stay for an hour ,but as I was leaving I could see dog walkers arriving, and they were all aware of Nigel

Fingers crossed. Cold night tonight. I know the woods well so hope he finds some shelter.
There are a few stables along the bridle paths that end of the woods and a few fields begore the roads to Minety/Purton.
He is also featured on Malmesbury, RWBassett and Cricklade police police websites and being shared locally on FB.

Very happy to help with a search at the weekend if he is still missing. I drive past twice daily so will keep looking. Which end of the wood did he get spooked? The car park side? Which track were you on at the time?

I lost my dog a couple of weeks ago same area. She was gone a week and found in a field with sheep at Worthy Hill farm, in fields just west of ravensroost. She was discovered in a field that had an electric fence. The farmer thought she had been there a while and possibly was too scared of the fence to get out. My point is it is worth walking those fields to check he hasn't got into a field that is electrified and can't get out again. I will walk that way tomorrow evening if he is still not found.

Thanks Lavinia, help postering and searching would be great.Nigel was chased off on a walk by 2 GSDS today at 2pm. Owners have been searching,nothing so far, postera are going up. He is chipped and probably is wearing a disc. Owners are going back there now, and have placed some bedding in the area he went from. Nigel is only 14 14 weeks old. Ive emailed advice sheets andamabout to alert farmers, keepers etc in the area.
