- This is so very sad. Poor Mr Cheeky,to be taken away from the people who love you so much for all these weeks then killed on the road trying to get home to your mum and dad. Heart-breaking 💔. Why on earth did these people take him,he was quite clearly a well loved, well cared for cat. I will never understand some so human beings actions in life. So sorry for owners, can't imagine how you are coping with your loss. You are in my
thoughts. Sweet dreams at rainbow bridge beautiful boy 🐈. - 2017-01-29 16:58 billybob

- So sorry. Nightie, night. Mr. Cheeky, sleep tight, and have fun at the bridge with Fluffy, Tiger, Tipsy, and Sandy(Died young) RIP+ God Blessx A~~~Candle~~~burns for you as I type this. Run free cherub (HUG) One day when the time is right, you will meet Mr Cheeky at the bridge, and he will be as "Cheeky" as he ever was.
Whoever stole Mr Cheeky is solely responsible for this outcome. I hope CCTV will shed some light on this theft. I hope a prosecution is imminent. I really hope we can get justice for Mr Cheeky, and his heartbroken family.
Mr. Cheeky is now amongst the Angels where he is safe, and at peace. He will always be with you until that day. God Bless the family of Mr. Cheeky` who did not deserve this. Neither did Mr. Cheeky

- Such a terrible ending- an RTA caused as well out of his area- and really hope those ultimately responsible are found and punished.
UPDATE 29/01/17: The lady who was alerted to Mr Cheeky's body in Cromwell St and who took him to Wilbury Road vets round the corner has been in touch with some further information and it looks as if our cat may have been being kept by someone in the street, very close by. Have just updated Police and asked them to investigate. It would be good to get a prosecution for pet theft if possible. - 2017-01-29 12:12 ClaireC

- Copied over from Facebook:
Just to re-cap Crime number is 47160170968 and Mr Cheeky was stolen from Brunswick Street East, Hove on 4th December (scroll down for CCTV clip post). He is a neutered 4 yr old tom with a chipped upper right fang.
Update:
We have had a number of tip-offs but, to date, all have been other cats or red herrings, rather than red cats! We have also had a huge number of tip-offs about a ginger cat with a blue collar who likes to play in a supermarket car park in Church Road who looks exactly like Mr Cheeky, but is a local cat who treats the car park as his playground! But please keep them coming as we totally appreciate every lead. We would particularly like to thank all the wonderful people on Brighton People Facebook group, Streetlife website and our fab neighbours for all their help and shares and encouraging stories of lost or kidnapped cats returned. You have helped us through both our birthdays and Christmas so far. We are currently working with a pet finder to see what happens. As you may or may not know we are offering a £300 reward for information leading to safe return of Mr Cheeky.
