I am so sorry to see this, I can only hope that at least you will be able to mourn her and eventually get some closure. I have been going down to the forest and looking since Slainte went missing, I was even down at the weekend checking the train line but a bit further down from where she was found. Once again I am so sorry for your loss

Just took a call from Network Rail. Slainte was found by the track close to Swinley Road, today. Probably electrocuted. I want to thank all those who have helped searching and spreading the word. We are glad to at least know, and that with was quick and pain free. Again thank you for all your help
cockerspaniellover
Never give up looking for her, have you contacted k9tracker to see if tracking her scent would still be poss a week on? Keep piling the posters everywhere xx
Padster
So sorry to see Slainte is still missing. Has anyone checked the drainage ditches? Some of them have large pipes in them which she may have crawled into to get shelter and be hiding out? There are several of them in the area she was last seen. I've been walking there regularly and no sign of her so far. Next time I'm there I will make a point of checking the ditches. Fingers crossed x
Slainte
Sadly not. Very similar but slightly different colouring. Thanks for the post.

Also, where was she seen last? I know it's vast so if it helps, we can add a Google map and you can drop a pin in the area were you last saw her so we can start searching there, just in case she is stuck somewhere nearbyLast edited: 2017-01-24 07:26:48 by Mrs_M

Is she mobile? Could she be running around - or stuck somewhere? I searched Sunday and again yesterday.. also, how do you pronounce her name? Fingers crossedLast edited: 2017-01-24 07:22:21 by Mrs_M
Slainte
She was on the Swinley Road side. Thanks again for everyone's help
Mrs_M
Which side of the forest was she lost at please - the Ascot side (Swinley Park - saw your poster at the Blanes Lane entrance) or The Lookout side (Swinley Forest)? I hope you're reunited soon.
Mary F
I've posted on my FB page as I live in Bracknell and have other friends who walk their dogs locally. I am so sorry that your dog is still missing, have you considered asking about a tracker dog? Which end of Swinley was she lost in, I am happy to go back after work tomorrow to help look again.
Slainte
Still missing. Out searching and leafletting today. Spoke to rail maintenance staff at Martins Heron. They have checked line, and nothing between Ascot and Martins Heron. Still looking
Mary F
Any news? I looked today when I walked my dog there, I go in the entrance across the road to Englemere Pond. Poster on the gate and a lot of people there this afternoon
Slainte
Very similar but not our terrier. Thanks for posting.

Just been told about this dog - https://www.facebook.com/LostboxMidlands/photos/a.226100697577323.1073741828.226099990910727/644423779078344/?type=3&theater
info on post reads - This lovely older lady was handed into the police station 18/01/17 after being found on Woodborough Road #NG3. Unfortunately she isn't chipped. Somebody must recognise those sad eyes!

Might be worth checking out
Slainte
Thanks everyone for all your help. Swinley forest is vast, as anyone who goes there knows. There was a report of a dog fitting her description near coral reef traffic lights earlier today, around a dead fox, so she could have travelled a vast distance. If she rolled on the fox (or worse ate it), she will be very smelly if not very sick! Please please continue to look in the area. She is very friendly and will jump into anyone's car, but is also very self sufficient and clever, as they are! we have been searching all day and everyone has been so helpful and interested, thank you so much. we live in hope. If anyone is on the train from martin's heron or bracknell to AScot, Please also keep an eye on the track. if it's bad news, we'd still rather know, however grim. thank you again.
cockerspaniellover
I wish you the best of luck, have you considered a k9 tracker? xx
Slainte
Hi - Thanks for all your help. Yes posters up and searching area and beyond regularly.
cockerspaniellover
Has a search been arranged and posters been put up ?Xx
Nuts
Walking near there tomorrow (Allens Field) which is near a quiet road and entrance to Swinley Wood. Will keep eye out.
