- sallypeabody, sorry to see Naz has still not been found. Type Staffordshire Bull Terrier Rescue in www.google.co.uk and you will find rescues. I'll contact other helpers on DL who are staffie owners. Good luck. Jan xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Nope, no news what so ever, not a sighting gave the police a reg number of a van that had been seen next to the yard, contacted the fish company someone kindly added below, they weren't doing delivery's in this area, but to be honest they weren't the kind of blokes to 'work' for a large company, they probably just get a load of fish on the fiddle & sell it around the doors. We contacted all the animal centers, dog wardens, police stations etc around, have stuck up posters in vets, shops etc, hes got to be on every 'lost dog' website out there. Dont know what else to do now. ?????????Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Hi there sallypeabody. I can only speak from experience, but we have had 5,000 dogs reunited on this site and not one has ever come back with any injuries that suggest fighting. the most likely scenario is they have taken him for themselves because he is so handsome. The main focus at the moment must be on finding this fishmongers - do you know anyone who buys fish from him? if they are selling door to door in your town then someone must know who he is and what time he visits. lie in wait at a customers house and ask him. get on to your local council, ask to speak to environmental health and ask them if they know of fish suppliers who sell fish to a man in a van who then sells in the area, in fact ask them if they know of this man. as food is involved there has to be environmental health involvement, at the moment, the lead you have is that a man who sells fish door to door in your area may have taken him. you have to find that man and rule him out. give me a ring on 07843 681980 if you need a hand and ensure the posters are everywhere - if he has a trade in town he will be returning to town and it could just be one strategically placed poster that catches his eye and gives you the call you need from him.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Hi sallypeabody, have you tried looking through the freeads in the free papers? If they're selling door-to-door they might be on the fiddle so they won't be spending money on advertising!!! You might get a lead on either the fishsellers or the dogs. Maybe people in Peterlee could do the same for you. Good luck, hurry home Naz sweetie xxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- The fish sellers are not from around here, they are supposed to be from Peterlee & get supplies from north shields {we think} then just spend a day driving around selling from door to door. We've been told to other staffys have been stolen from Pegswood (another nearby village) last week too, (police cant confirm this) probably by the same fish men. Have informed the police about this, & given them a reg number of a van seen around on that day, but if they connect them together is anyones guess. They said they will do an HP check on the van.........Watch this space.....Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- owner - fresh fish is the clue here, there cannot be that many men who sell fish in your area and come from another. try and do some checks in the local community and track down this company. Does he work on a market stall in your area or does he have a van and make deliveries to doors. if you can track that down then you have a start.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- sallypeabody, welcome on board DL and thanks for updating us. You need to poster the area as much as possible and try to get your local paper to cover a story. Are the men selling the fish regular visitors with a van, you may be able to track them down. Admin can email helpers in the areas you mentioned if they have not been covered already. - Posters need to be displayed as soon as possible on notice boards, lamp posts, entrances to parks, dog bins and on cars. Take posters to vets, pet shops, libraries, postmen (for sorting offices), milkmen, dustmen, street cleaners, taxi drivers, schools, pubs, youth clubs, newsagents, post offices, takeaways, dog training clubs, supermarkets and car parks. Hand out reduced-down posters or cards to people - especially dog walkers - and deliver to houses and businesses. Police stations, Dog Wardens, the RSPCA and all rescue centres need checking frequently and preferably visited in person by owner or someone who knows Naz well. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
