I am so sorry chloe is not home with you yet , i was beginning to wonder if you were getting fobbed off but i like to give people benefit of the doubt. This woman is not doing herself any favours she is putting herself in a bad light and it infuriates me when people say someones missing dog is probably curled up in front of a fire being looked after with a nice family, this is of no comfort to the real owners the dogs have a loving home with them already. I agree with what last post states try and get a pic and story in local paper even if the new people who have her don't come forward a neighbour could recognize her, this happened to two dogs local to me, good luck to you it must be devastatingxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I am so devastated for you, so maddening and frustrating, I am sure you will have done this, but try the local paper not an advert. make it personal, they love that sort of story, ask for an appeal to the new owners to come forward, anything on that line. Again this woman, there has got to be a law she has broken somewhere, I hope your solicitor can find it....surely she needs a licence of some form to deal in animals, also bt they must be able to find out where calls were re routed to, they seem to be able to do everything else in this world, walk on the moon etc., again appeal to their good nature, and at the end of it all phone The Sun they would love to hear about bt and the human interest side...my thoughts are with you and all owners of lost dogs, to save you checking there is no news at all on Zak. kindest regardsLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hello everyone, looks like we will have to go down the legal route, BT bill was a joke as all calls diverted to another number - given the run around. Will be speaking to a solicitor next week. Once again thank you for your support. We only have the word of a woman who said she has rehoused her to a good home, but she doesn't know who they are or indeed where they live or even their telephone number! Won't give up until we have explored all avenues, but as time goes by it is becoming increasingly difficult to be positive or indeed hope for a positive outcome and get Chloe back home where she belongs.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi everyone, still waiting on the BT bill for the number for the kennel lady to contact who she gave Chloe to, he rang in shortly after Chloe was re-homed to say she was settling ok, but we only have kennel lady word for that. Hoping the telephone number is on there?! BT are a real pain, personally i have had to contact them for similar reasons and it takes anything up to an hour to get through, then when you do it takes a long time sort any issues out, that is if they manage to sort them out at all!!! Kennel lady registering on line with my help so she can download her bills, be easier all round and we didn't think of it before now. However BT have promised that the bill has been sent out again. Fingers crossed we should have some news today?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Been speaking to kennel lady since last week, almost daily, BT said they sent the breakdown out to her on the 22/10 but she never received it, they are sending a duplicate. It has not arrived today, and if it isn't in tomorrows post she will contact them again! Damn these coporate companies and I just hope we are not being strung along?! Again thanks for support and private messages xxxxxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Still waiting on Kennel lady, we are hoping that she sees this act for what it was and helps to get our Chloe back. hello again, the other day in the news, some cat owners whos cat had strayed and been taken to a rescue centre and rehomed, took the case for her return to court, the rescue centre relented before the case was heard and gave out the new address, but, but, the new owners heard about the case and went to the court complete with the cat and handed her back,....had a lot of coverage locally and nationally...could be a last resort, or an appeal in the paper to the new owners....they are probably not aware of the situation and as animal lovers I am sure they would be willing to return her...again, thoughts are with you, more exciting than tv, maybe a book in the future, what would we do without this website and the wonderful people involved...Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

We are holding our breath at the moment. We have traced boarding kennels where Chloe was taken, approximately 8 miles away, didn't know it existed! And with it not being a rescue why would we!! Still can't say too much at the moment however Dog Trust have been helpful today in ruling out Chloe wasn't taken to them. Awaiting kennel owner response to our visit i.e. hoping she manages to contact people she handed Chloe to. Thank you Jazzi for your help xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I am a bit confused the dogs trust would not deny having a dog would they, who said she was there and re-homed to elderly couple, some publicity needs to go out perhaps she is closer to home and not with any sort of rescue, i am thinking of you all everyday and hope chloe is back home soon where she belongs.hugs to you allLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Surrendered dogs do not have to be given any waiting days. However, I would have thought that the rescue would have requested some sort of proof with regards to ownership. The 7 day rule only applies to stray dogs going into contracted stray kennels. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

This is one of many spiteful acts. Believe me we will not give up. It is callous and a vindictive act. Chloe will be pining. I am at my wits end. Police gave me a crime number initially. Will contact them to ensure it still applies to chloe. If not we will get another one and another after that if necessary. Thank you for endless support and messages xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Oh no its a pity she wasn't chipped cos hopefully she would have been scanned and for the new owners to have the micro- chip details transfered to them they would have had to contact you and of course you could have stopped this in its tracks. Rescues and re-homing centres are not obliged to tell you the wherabouts of any dog they have re-homed, but this is different this is theft you are her rightful owners and she was given away without your permision, insist on a crime number from the police sometimes they are reluctant but the longer you leave it the harder it will be. This is such a spiteful act don't give in shes your baby.....take care Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Been to Dog Trust Leeds - Chloe not there, was informed that any small dogs such as Cavaliers are re-homed straight away and people are queueing up for them. Also informed by an elderly couple who were collecting two Cavaliers that they collected them almost immediately after they were spade, given to understand it was a matter of a few days that they stayed at the Trust - I have been given to understand that the Trust should keep them for 7 days?! Relying on kind assistance to get any further forward. Regards x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

my heart goes out to you, my cocker spaniel is also on the website Zak, having not fully understood the circumstances of the hand over, can I say as an ex police woman, if you know who gave her away, and it was without your permission, this is theft, report it to the police, who will interview and possibly obtain the info on where she was taken....be firm, this is definitly theft...and is an arrestable offence...good luck to us all in the search for our beloved pets...Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

As soon as Admin receives a photograph, the poster will be emailed out to helpers. Posters need to be displayed as soon as possible on notice boards, lamp posts, entrances to parks, dog bins and on cars. Take posters to vets, pet shops, libraries, postmen (for sorting offices), milkmen, dustmen, street cleaners, taxi drivers, schools, pubs, youth clubs, newsagents, post offices, takeaways, dog training clubs, supermarkets and car parks. Hand out reduced-down posters or cards to people - especially dog walkers - and deliver to houses and businesses. Police stations, Dog Wardens, the RSPCA and all rescue centres need checking frequently and preferably visited in person by owner or someone who knows Chloe well. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
