Hi - I thought I would give you an update as I have been called a few times this morning by kind people who are concerned for Tilly. There is still no news and she has not been heard of, or seen, since 9am on Sunday 14th October. Quite a lot of posters have been put up in the local area - and yesterday someone even took some to put up north of Worcester. A big thank you to the local post offices, schools, shops and supermarkets who are displaying the posters. The only fuel garage in Ledbury was less helpful (so not sure that we will use them again!). I have spoken to the local West Gloucestershire, South Worcestershire and East Herefordshire police, vets and dog wardens again and have left messages at Animal Rescue Centres. The local gamekeepers, who are in the woods two or three times a day at this time of year, are keeping an eye out - as are the lumberjacks, who are working nearby at the moment. Over the last week we have searched all the local woods and hills and again there were a lot of people walking the hills this weekend on Saturday there was an orienteering competition so a lot of people were running in the woods. There is a feeling that she has been deliberately taken and may be further afield......e mail from owner.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Do you come under South Gloucestershire council? Sorry - but I don't know the area at all. If you do, according to their website all strays are taken to kennels near Yate. They don't give the name, so you'd have to ring them on 01454 868009 to find out. If this is the right area, I will pass on details of other kennels you could try.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hello Just to let you know that I saw some notices about Tilly which one of your helpers must have put up - thank you We have not heard anything of Tilly since she was last seen at about 9am on Sunday 14th. I have just called Newent Police Station where the officer told me that they do not take in dogs, are not interested in dogs and are not prepared to take any responsibility for a lost dog. If anyone turns up with a lost dog they are told by the police that as they have taken responsibility for the dog they can do what they want - take it home, or call a dog warden, or take it to an animal shelter. So much for a public spirited organisation!!!...message from owner. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Posters need to be displayed as soon as possible on notice boards, lamp posts, entrances to parks, dog bins and on cars. Take posters to vets, pet shops, postmen (for sorting offices), milkmen, dustmen, street cleaners, taxi drivers, schools, pubs, youth clubs, newsagents, post offices, takeaways, dog training clubs, supermarkets and car parks. Hand out reduced-down posters or cards to people - especially dog walkers - and deliver to houses and businesses. Police stations, Dog Wardens, the RSPCA and all rescue centres need checking frequently and preferably visited in person by owner or someone who knows Tilly well. Stay safe Tilly, until you are home x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
